If you are looking for a great place for lunch alternative to fastfood, try this place. Soup, salad and/or sandwich. Love the concept of the menu, simple and quick. Chef Mike, gives you a sample tasting of his soups while you contemplate what you want. Checkout the website for weekly specials. The creamier soups were well seasoned (corn or mushrooms soups) but the others could use a little more salt/seasoning. It would be great for those that are on low sodium diet and maybe that was his purpose. I had the grown up tuna and roast beef sandwich and it was spot on. Perfectly cooked roasted beef and tuna was fresh. The bread that the sandwiches comes on were so soft and found out he bakes them every morning. Will definitely come back to try the other sandwiches and their salad. He also does tasting menus on the weekends. Ask him about it.

One of my teammates took me here for lunch and it was amazing. I tried her favorite sandwich, which was the Sweet Potato and it was so good. The roll was so fluffy and fresh. We were offered so many different soups to try, which was very nice. I took home the Tomato Soup which was also incredible. We ended our lunch with delicious cookies too. Make sure you check the menu, it changes every week!

My wife and kids have gone to Tatchen's quite a few times over the last couple years and we've always loved every soup, sandwich, or piece of bread we've ever had so when I got in a jam this Mother's day, I knew exactly what to do. Every year for Mother's day, I take my family to a restaurant on the Jersey shore and we indulge in their delicious Seafood Bisque. This year we weren't able to get a reservation and I knew my wife would be terribly disappointed so I had to come up with a backup plan. I stopped in at Tatchen's on Friday morning and finally met Mike for the 1st time. I explained my situation and asked if he could make a special pot of Seafood Bisque for me. I told him the basic things that we love in our Bisque and he said he could do it. I went back Saturday morning to pick up my Seafood Bisque and he had gone above and beyond and made me a special braided loaf of his amazing bread and some delicious Maple butter. We just finished lunch on Mother's day and my wife was totally blown away. The Bisque was absolutely delicious, the bread was perfect, and the butter was an amazing finishing touch. I highly recommend Tatchen's for his amazing food as well as Mike's warm, welcoming demeanor.

My company orders lunch from here frequently. I've tried many of the soups, the beef and cheddar sandwich, and the tuna salad among other things. Literally everything Mike makes is fresh and delicious and he's a really nice guy to boot! Plus it smells like Thanksgiving in there so you really can't go wrong.

Stopped in today for the first time, not knowing this place even existed despite living nearby. The owner was friendly as cited in other reviews, letting me sample several of his soups. Everything I took home was fresh, delicious, and filling. Now that I've found this joint, I'll be sure to return.

I just went for the first time today and everything was great. I had the shrimp salad and the greens were nice and crisp and the shrimp were delicious. The owner is very kind and sent me home with some bread that was firm on the outside and pleasantly soft on the inside. If you’re looking for tasty fresh food this is the spot.

Our group of 4 enjoyed our lunch with Mike at his new luncheonette immensely. Starting with his amazing repertoire of highly welcome soups (makes you forget about the cold weather), we had a four-course meal which would be tough to beat. We especially loved the pumpkin ginger and mushroom soups, but the others were close in appeal. Of course Mike's soups were accompanied by some great fresh-baked breads, which were just about still warm from the oven.
Next we had some wonderful salads (Please pay attention, all those of you who are fearful of carbs.) The seared tuna and shrimp salads were both perfectly presented and very fresh, with high quality dressings on the side.
Our third course included several excellent sandwiches which were both creative and comforting, as a good deli sandwich should be. The pork with mango was especially appealing, as was Mike's meal loaf creation.
Lastly, the deserts were tough to resist and included lots of chocolate options, which we highly recommend. The toll house cookies were over the top.
Overall this is a great find, and we cannot imagine that anyone would have difficulty finding delectable options on the menu. The setting is cheerful, comfortable and relaxed. Plus Mike is a wonderful host, who is affable, attentive and easy to talk to. Give this place a try - I guarantee you'll be back regularly.
