Battlefield Restaurant

I love the vibe of this restaurant. It is a fun place to visit. The staff was cheerful and the decor was typical of a country breakfast eatery. Price is right. Quantities were good. Food was good, but not amazing. They have onsite parking. While you are in the area, visit the Fredericksburg Battlefield Museum and Trail across the street.

I gave it 4 stars because I liked the place but it's not gonna be for everyone. It's an old building with limited seating. Reminds me of a small town place you would find out in the middle of nowhere. They have some outdoor seating but it's close to the road. I felt like I went to someone's house and they offered to cook me breakfast. The food was good and would compare to what I would cook for myself at home. The staff was really friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere here. Prices are decent, menu is on the smaller side but included all your basics. Personally I'd go back but for people that are more used to a chain like cracker barrel or IHOP, you're not gonna like this place.

This was the most embarrassing experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I had been looking forward to trying the breakfast here and ended up leaving before even having the opportunity to try it. Upon arrival we sat ourselves and grabbed a high chair for our toddler. The high chair was incredibly filthy and sticky, without complaining we proceeded to wipe it down with baby wipes and sanitizer. Apparently this must have offended the employees because afterwards we sat there while everyone else in the restaurant before and after us were served, ate and left...while we remained sitting there. I had to ask twice just for a water. When I got my cup the rim was covered in food crumbs. I wanted to give this place the benefit of doubt, so we continued to wait until the we were the only ones left in the restaurant without food. At this point I knew we were being discriminated against. I have never felt so unwanted, and I was on the verge of tears. So we quietly got up and saw the people in the kitchen mouthing that we were finally leaving. We never once complained or made a fuss of anything. It was truly disheartening that because we wanted to make sure our son had a clean seat, we were shunned out of the restaurant. I would never be able to recommend anyone here due to the service we received.

I went with my daughter the first time this morning. She is very picky about everything she eats including bacon and pancakes. She ate it all! She loved that it was a mickey mouse pancake. The home fries are the BEST i’ve had outside my kitchen. If you have been wondering about this place, this is your warning to go!
