Fatz Cafe

Went on a weekday and it was not very crowded, yet we waited for over 20 minutes for a table. I think they were shorthanded. It was my first time here. The place looks very plain and uninteresting so I didn't know what to expect. Ordered a Philly cheesesteak and fried shrimp. Both were excellent and the service was outstanding.

We went on a Monday after a weekend so that may have been the reason that they were out of the items three of us in our party of four ordered. We were given a complimentary dessert of our choice to make up for them not having our first choices. What we did have was really good in flavor and presentation while reasonably priced. The waitress was wonderful, super kind, and concerned about our disappointment over lack of selection. I would go back just to see her again. I think a different day of the week would be better next time. As the lady at the hotel said, "The peach pie is to die for!." It's actually peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. I know you will love it!

07/06/2023 @ 7 pm - First timers to Fatz Cafe. We are passing through on our way to Gatlinburg from Florida. Our server, Ms. Doreen was great and very personable. You could tell she is passionate about her customers and wants only the best experience for them. She is a busy gal taking care of her customers, but she also makes and takes the time to make sure you are taken care of. The fresh warm pretzel like bread with cinnamon butter was really good and The fried mushrooms appetizer is lightly breaded. We also had Calabash chicken strips (little spicy), the all you can eat short ribs and the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese with tomato soup. I gave the food 4 stars because the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese was good, but the Texas Toast was more on the soggy side in the middle. It could have been because of the amount of cheese that it is loaded with. I wasn't able to eat all of it. ~ Thank you Ms. Doreen! Stay safe and make sure you get back to the island for a visit.☀️🌴

Had the chicken tender sandwich and their pot roast. The sandwich was good and the pot roast was as well but it is definitely a smaller portion than what they used to serve. Would be 5 stars but the service was pretty slow. We were seated in the bar area and there were only 3 other tables seated so not sure why they were that slow.
