Very friendly staff. Large menu. Food was good and well prepared. I would classify this as above average barbecue but not excellent.
The brisket sandwich was good and the kids meals were well portioned.
Disappointed in the applesauce, it was clearly out of a can, I was hoping for something a bit more homemade. Baked beans were excellent though.
When you eat at a place 3 times in 36 hours, you must think it's pretty good.
Well, Willy's is pretty dang good.
When you first walk in, you might think it's a little stark but then you realize, they aren't trying to impress you with a fancy restaurant. This place is for eating good BBQ and serving you good BBQ is what they do here.
I had ribs and brisket and they were both fabulous. Great sides complimented great BBQ. Slaw, baked sweet potato, sweet potato fries, etc...
I only wish I was able to hang around and have more. If you're in the area and can get to Willy's, do yourself a flavor favor and do it.
My sister and I drove to Franklin to shop and I decided I wanted a good Bar B Que sandwich. I used Google, and followed easy directions to Willy's. It was a little after 3pm, the service was superb, the food was excellent, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was reassuring in these days of pandemic. We will travel from Clayton again often for the best bar b que I have had in a long time!
The staff and food were great. Prices are fair. My husband and I both got the bbq pork dinner. It came with 3 sides. Plenty of food for under $25!!!

Great service and experience. The waitresses qlare very sweet and attentive. The appetizers are very very good. It was the highlight of our lunch. One of my family members ordered the ribs, I highly suggest it, it was fantastic and had great pull. The only reason it's not scoring 5 stars was because the pulled pork was dry, didn't taste like it was very fresh, with some lumps throughout that didn't get a good pull. Being part of a few BBQ competitions here is my take, the ribs could be a decent entry for competition ribs, the pulled pork left a lot to be desired. It was partially made up with the wide array of in house sauces
Great food, we both love the mess of catfish,such huge servings we always bring home another meal for next day. Squash puppies are tastes of love. We have had other meals here and always been well pleased. Some wonderful food and wonderful people!
Good, solid BBQ, but I felt the meat needed a bit longer in the smoker. The sauces were good, with a selection for most everyone.
The sides were great, and portion sizes were generous for the price.
Employees were friendly, but overwhelmed, it appeared to us that a couple of their crew called off. That said, service did not suffer! Despite being short on help, the restaurant was clean and all tables were quickly bused.
Found this place after taking a day trip to Highlands and looking for a place to eat. It took no time at all to realize the service was excellent and so was the food. We started off with the corn nuggets and were pleasantly surprised with the serving size, not to mention they tasted amazing. The pork sandwiches were delicious and the sauce variety was nice.
When they say a "mess of catfish" they mean it. The biggest plate of fried catfish I've ever seen and it is delicious! Husband's ribs were good too. Not a fancy place but good food...especially the catfish! The sides were so-so but would go there again for the main courses. Went there 12 years ago and it was good and it still is...large portions for sure!
We were seated immediately. Super friendly and helpful staff. Good food with an AMAZING fried onion appetizer. Food came out very quick. Entire restaurant was super clean, bathrooms included. They even smelled fresh! We asked to purchase a bag of ice. One was brought to us for free, the staff even checked on us to see if they gave us enough.
Overall a great experience! Good food and great people that go above and beyond.
It was easy to find parking. We were quickly seated at our table. Our orders were taken and delivered quickly. They have a good v variety of barbeque sauces. Our waitress made sure we our beverages did not run out and was quick to replace some dropped silverware. The prices were reasonable.
Absolutely the best food in town!
Food was really good authentic carolina vinegar based sauces. Appetizers were hot and fresh. Ribs, pork and chicken was good. Service was a little slow but the lone waiter did as good as he could holding down 10+ tables. Did not try the craft beer but will do it next time.
We enjoyed our lunch at Willy's. We were shocked that we have been visiting Franklin for years and just now discovered this restaurant. My husband had the brisket plate, and I had the pork plate for lunch. Each plate had 2 sides and Texas toast. Lunch was around $25 for two including drinks and the tip. The food was great. My husband has labeled Willy's potato salad as the best he has ever had; that is saying a lot ! He enjoyed the squash puppies as well. We make some pretty awesome sauce, so we are hard to please. All of Willy's sauces were tasty; only two are on the table, so be sure to ask for the others (vinegar based and hot....or even extra hot). The service was efficient and cordial and southern charm was evident in the decor. We especially appreciated the simple, sincere prayer on the front of the menu. We enjoyed our lunch, Willy's, may God continue to bless your business and family.
Excellent bbq great taste and excellent staff
We don’t live locally but like to stop here each time through. We like the food and have never had bad service. Baby back ribs are good, largest sweet potatoes perfectly prepared and we love the squash puppies.
