Review Silky Sullivans Restaurant & Irish Pub - Fountain Valley

We were staying at a Ayers Hotel, which is about a block away and Silky Sullivan's was the only eaterie open after 9 pm--what a gem! The sandwiches we ordered were good, the salad fresh and best of all, the Saturday night band was excellent! We had a blast!!

I came here the first time today (July 08, 2022) and I had a Reuben Sandwich. It was great, specially the sauce and it didn't cost much. I also met Michelle, she was very nice and had an outstanding customer service. It was a great experience over all. I edited this review after a year (July 08, 2023)

Fun dive bar and Irish pub! The music was vibing, the bartender had good energy and was super responsive and helpful. Silky Sullivan's is an easy going and comfortable pub for a drink and some good grub!

I love Finest Nails. I have been coming here for about 5 years. They are great! I feel so comfortable when I’m there. All the girls are so friendly and they do a fantastic job! Take good care of your feet and your feet will take you anywhere!

As a British lad, this is a very well out together Irish pub! Feels authentic, apart from all the TV playing American football but the food is great and stuff are all friendly. Regular stop in after a round at Mile square golf course

I went here to watch the patriots game and was pleasantly surprised about the level of attentiveness and service and quality of food that we received. We ordered the chicken fried steak, breakfast scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, crispy, and an English muffin. I had to tell him on the water and Shannon had a soda. Guy was attentive, but not overly aggressive with the ordering. We asked for more time he gave us plenty and he stayed in the area so when I waved him over, he came right away. The drink showed up right away. The food was out in probably about eight minutes and the server did a two minute check back at which, without me even saying anything he noticed that the hashbrowns weren’t crispy And ordered another hash brown extra crispy for my wife because it’s her favorite. I told the bartender/manager what a great time we had. I let them know that I was Irish pub royalty from Boston. I really look forward to going back I highly recommend this place to anyone, not just people seeking a great Pub, but people seeking a great meal and a great time. Even the Patriots getting shut out couldn’t ruin my meal.

I love coming here with friends. I like their mini samples. I would order a Mojito when I'm here, it's not as strong as other Mojitos made elsewhere. I love love love the live band and music. After just one drink, you'll find me on the dance floor dancing the night away.

This is an Irish themed dive with reasonably priced food, cheap alcohol, and nice staff. The crowds are friendly and people are happy here. This is what California dive bars used to be like before the pandemic. I’m happy to see a good place like this survive. They plan to move across the street so support them, please.

Food was great. I got the Prime Rib Sundae and my wife got the Fish N Chips with Irish Bread Pudding for dessert. On that note, I didn't know IBP had raisins in it, so now I know not to order that again. The service is good/friendly, albeit a bit slow for how not busy it was. It's also a shame that they didn't have horseracing on any of the TVs. You'd think a restaurant that is "in honor" or a race horse would have racing in the TVs (and yes, there were active races while we were eating).

Went here for the first time last night. I called around town and after about 8 calls I found this place that was able to get the Seattle Kraken game on the TV. This is a great sports bar to get games that are blocked out in this area, it shows they care more about the service they provide than the minimizing their overhead. That's the way to ensure longevity and continued customer satisfaction. Once I arrived the staff proved to continue the supreme service the entire time I was there and sat me at a table with a good view of the TV. They also already had college hockey and American Ninja Warrior on adjacent TV's I could watch at the same time. The other patrons were friendly and even made a couple new friends with the regulars. They had Redbreast 12yr for $9 and I also got their wings which were very good.

Good food, fun atmosphere, and delightful staff. Four star on service because we waited at the entrance to be seated, and several employees walked past us with no acknowledgment for several minutes. Finally, we were greeted by a friendly waitress.

This is me and my boyfriend's favorite place to eat. The food here is AMAZING! (Try the Irish Sundae!) But he especially loves the feel of the place, hearty food, and good thick guinness. Reminds him of home, as he's British. But the food is closer to British cuisine than Irish. The Guinness is the closest to any Guinness you'll get in the UK. (Yes you can order a pitcher! But just note a little wait with the better quality beer pour.) The place is adorned with old wood and very warm and welcoming. Reminiscent of the pubs you can find in the UK. And it's steeped in history. If you look at the photo above the hallway leading to the restrooms you will see a small picture in black and white of a tiny building. That is the same location where years ago before Silky's was there, was a post office. Most the men that worked there or built Silky's come in for a pint still! Talk about history! They have live events every week multiple times a day, some nights karaoke, some nights trivia, some nights live bands. Check their website for more info on that night. I must also add, they will be moving locations soon, TBD. They will be moving to another location that is FAIRLY close I do know. I hope the new tavern will be JUST as beautiful as this one.

Such a great vibe. No young people starting problems or getting crazy. I mean occasionally there's crazy people but they are older and mature so it's never out of hand. Francisco is amazing and also the good is great. Parking could be better. Please young folks stay away beer is cheep too

Best fish and chips and French onion soup in town, Breading on the fish is light and welcoming and the French onion soup is always on point. It's so good I really don't order anything else there- but you order those two plates with a salad and you'll leave swelly bellied like I do every time. They also have live music and karaoke on some nights which is kinda fun. The bar crowd can get a little loud and loose with the cussing, so just a fore warning if you have to go with the kiddos for whatever reason, but other than that I definitely recommend this spot for fish n chips and French onion. By no means is it a 5 star fine dining atmosphere, but it is an Irish pub so- kinda speaks for itself there.

Oh, how I loved the Irish fans/family atmosphere here. Was recommended by longtime local. Met and exceeded the experience needed while visiting SoCal. 🙂👍🤝
