Review Dan's Seafood & Chicken Restaurant #2 - Fort Worth

Only concern i have is the website has totally different prices( CHEAPER ) than when you go in person other than that food is great you get good portions but you need to update your website

Omg drove 20 minutes and it well worked it. My husband and I enjoy our plates. I had crabs leg boil and it did not disappoint so freaking good. I tried my husband fish fillet so juicy and tender. Will be back for sure. Oh and they served alchohol!

I was really craving snow crab legs when a Google search led me to Dan's. Also, is conveniently close by my neighborhood. The biggest draw to the place may have been the prices. I overlooked several other seafood restaurants because they're much higher prices. We can forego the argument of "you get what you pay for." I am landlocked in north Texas. All of the seafood restaurants here are getting their food frozen from a different part of the country. I digress, however. The crabs legs were very delicious, if not, then a little salty. At first glance, I was disappointed in the portions. The pic in their website seemed to offer more. By the time I finished my plate, however, I was content. Not full, but satisfied. The food was seasoned well, aside from the aforementioned slight saltiness, and could be tasted although out the crab. Whatever they boil the food in taste great, as well. It has a heavy garlic taste, which I have come to expect in a crab boil, and even crave. Along with the crab plate, you are given a half cob of corn and a red potatoe. I felt a little cheated here and felt they could have given two of each, at least. The red potatoes are (I bought 2 crab plates and a crab/shrimp combo plate) were all on the small side. I know they typically are "small potatoes," but in both of my plates, they were especially small. Noticeably small. I tasted the shrimp and it's fine. Bare in mind, I am not particularly fond of shrimp, so pardon my "to the point" view of Dan's shrimp. I also bought their chicken fried rice. (my kid is not a fan of seafood...yet.) That was pretty good, too. Better than a lot of other places of similar food. With that said, it is fried rice in the loosest of terms. There was rice, some corn kernels, and chicken in it. So, it's barely fried rice, but it was tasty. My main reason for rating Dan's 4-stars isn't related to their food. It was how long I had to wait for my order. Oh no! An entitled Patron. Their website allows you to order online, which is exactly what I needed. I wanted to order the food as a left work and have it ready for pickup 45 minutes later. After you made you order, the site had you wait for the the restaurant to acknowledge the order. They did not. I had to wait for about 5 minute for it to tell me that no one responded. So, I am it tried again. Again, no one responded. That could have turned me off on the restaurant, but as I stated earlier, I really wanted crab. So, I called I called Dan's and made my order. I was told that it would be ready in 10 minutes. I let them know that to would take me 45 minutes to get there. And 45 later when I got there, I thought my food would be ready. It was not. I ended up waiting 25 after I paid to get my food. They clearly had not prepared it in advance for me. And that, rubbed me the wrong way. I do plan to visit them again and if the service is better, I may increase the rating. That said, I do recommend Dan's Seafood & Chicken.

This a real review first time here that popcorn shrimp was a good choice and also the big shrimp fried is good too

We have takeout from Dan’s Seafood on a regular basis. Their chicken tenders are the best…simply no comparison! Good value too.

I was very impressed!!! The food was delicious and made to order...definitely worth the wait. I got catfish and shrimp and will definitely be back soon. The fries honestly could have been better but since everything else was on point I was good.

Went here on a last minute food choice. The food was so good. Better then I expected. The tender meal was my Sons. The chicken was perfect, fries needed salt. But weren’t bad. The shrimp boil was wayyyy better then expected, very flavorful and shrimp was fresh and good. Potatoes were awesome and corn too.

The #20 for $10 plus tax. Popcorn chicken slaps !!

This is a five star place, all the way. I ordered the catfish nuggets, oysters, calamari, corn nuggets, okra, and french fries with their apple pie for dessert. The woman at the counter had great customer service and was patient with me looking over the menu. The food took about 10-15 minutes (which wasn't that long). The person that brought me the food was very polite as well. I was surprised when I got home. The size of the catfish nuggets were at least 2 inches each. They weren't dry at all, and had a substantial amount of meat on them. The seasoning was perfect and had a bit of a peppery kick to it, but it wasn't exactly spicy and didn't overpower the flavour of the fish. The fried oysters were delicious, and the calamari... My expectations were low given past experiences with other restaurants, but this was literally cooked perfectly. Not tough at all, and my daughter loved it more than the fish. The corn nuggets were nostalgic, the okra was great, and the french fries - surprisingly - were not dredged in salt, so I was able to add as much as I wanted to at home. The apple pies, I think, were cooked there, and I'd gladly eat these any time. The crust was crisp on the outside and not overly-sweet and the filling was awesome. I did not expect to get so much food for the price I got it at, either! A lot cheaper than other places I was considering going to that day, but I'm glad I went here. It couldn't all be eaten at dinner, so we have half left over today. My only regret is not trying the Cole slaw when I had the chance, but this is definitely now my favorite fish place. Nice people, amazing food, and at a great price. Don't judge by the size outside, this place 100% is worth stopping by! The photo isn't how it came, but there's a bit of everything there except the pie.

Always cooked to order... fresh, HOT, tasty, and big portions. Dan, the owner is a great guy, and takes care of his customers AND employees. Parents taught him very well.

Looove this place! My favorite place to goto and affordable for the big plates they give you! Their banana pudding is the best I've had and their tea is so good! Besides the food being good their customer service makes you want to come back!

Enormous portions. Best catfish filets in Fort Worth. Also, love their jalapeno poppers and ranch dressing!

Terrible customer service, Me and my kids ordered to dine in at 835 at 845 the young lady brought the food to our table in bags and told me we had to take the food with us.. I told it was for here she said we don't have time to let y'all eat.. I told her to refund my money she got the manager and he was even as ruder and dumber than her.. After arguing with him for 10 minutes he finally returned my money... I will stick with Krispy catfish on Macart next to cousins bar b q!!!!

Great food right across from a Southwest HS game of baseball. Always cooked perfectly and the staff is friendly!!

My son went here about a week ago, came home with one if the biggest pieces of cat fish I had ever seen... Part of the 2 piece special. We went tonight. Large portions and cooked PERFECTLY. The homemade eggrolls are to die for. This has just become my favorite place to eat!

I love this place,delish every time! Friendly service,fast,good selection of food,hot and ready. And the fact that its right up the street,makes it even better. I love the batter on the fish,everything is cooked perfectly!

I first started going to the restaurant on Bridge street near I30 and 820 11 year ago ,when I was working near to there. I'm now retired and live in far west Fort Worth. It's about a 13 mile trip each way, but I still try to get over there at least once a month. The location on Alta Mesa is a little closer but the proximity to the freeway makes the one on Bridge street makes it easier to get to. I've tried most of the things on their menu. And I've never been disappointed. Sometimes we'll get a fish meal and fried rice and share. But then their chicken is a great choice both for the taste and anount of chicken. Then theres the fried pork chops. I might just ho there now.

So I had Dan's for the first time last month and it was great! I live in Dallas, was on my way out of town and my Bae stopped here...best fish I've had in a while...they need a location in Dallas...fish was good not greasy and seasoned very well...can't wait to go back...worth the drive from Dallas to Ft Worth...BRING DAN'S TO DALLAS!!!

Good cooked to order fish. The only negative is they fry their fish in the same fryers as the Chinese food and the taste stays in the food.

Their chicken and seafood is always hot and delicious. They serve generous portions also. We are hooked.

Horrible Customer Service! Will be calling the BBB.
