This is a local hole in the wall with fine food. I grew up in this area and have been going to this establishment for 20+ years. I will say, I think that the food used to be better. However, it's still pretty good even now. They have good people working here and a wonderful, warm atmosphere. You can get takeout, or dine in, and they have enough space inside to accommodate large parties.

Great (what I would consider Tex-Mex) food! Food was fresh and hot. The beer was cold.
Friendly service.

Their food was great and came to our table in a timely fashion. I enjoyed their shrimp cocktail and nachos. The salsa had good flavor and the chips were fresh while the service was prompt and friendly. Our waiter made sure to check in with us several times during our meal

Loved this place. The salsa was delicious! We ordered different fajita meals and thought they were excellent. Also got a mango margarita that I’d love to order again. 10/10 recommend stopping in.

Food was fresh and hot. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was like more Tex than Mex restaurant to me 😄😄😄

Their chips and salsa is GOOD!!!! Their lunch specials are amazing (price and taste). We recieved good customer service per usual. I highly recommend their chicken and cheese enchiladas. The rice was a little dry this time but the beans were good.

It's handsdown one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever eaten!!! I agree though With the beans and rice it having a strong lard taste ... Just substitute them is what I have started doing...but the enchiladas ohhhh my gosh they are heaven and the staff is amazing

I've been coming here for years. Although it has no world breaking new flavor. It does a very good job of giving me one of my favorite comfort food platters. The Raul plate! It may not only be healthy, in as well as constantly satisfying, when I want a light meal for over 20 years.

It doesn't look like much on the outside but never jufge a bottle of wine by its label. The service was friendly and quick. The food came out hot and it was delicious.

Traditional tex mex place that has been in the neighborhood for decades. Salsa is good. My go to order is the Martha’s platter, and their tortilla soup is outstanding.

Great food! Had the Juaquins special and it came out hot and fresh with lots of flavor. Service was a little slow but it seemed like they were short handed so no big deal

This was my first time visiting Mexico Real Restaurant. The name describes it perfectly. Real Mexican food, reasonably priced. I'm very glad I decided to try it. Food was excellent and everyone was very friendly... Family owned and operated. A small unknown restaurant. It was great! A MUST TRY! I will take pictures next time.

Mexico Real is our “Go To” place for family friendly Mexican cuisine. They have generous and economical portions. We never leave dissatisfied. The staff is consistently courteous. The quality is comparable to fine dining. They have recently joined Caviar so now you can enjoy at home. But for us the ambience is part of the experience. They have room to accommodate parties large and small so if you want a quiet dinner for two or celebrate with Twenty the option is yours. I recommend fajitas or Mexican Shrimp cocktail but my lovely bride prefers the Chef’s Enchiladas. Don’t forget to end the meal with delicious sopapillas or homemade pecan pralines.

Real good, Real affordable. (pun intended)
Reason's they didn't get a higher rating from me.
*Service is more often crap than not.
*Fajitas - if you are a vegetarian you will be pleased that you only have to pick out a few pieces of meat.

Every other menu item I have tried has been rather good.

Nice Neighborhood Tex-Mex. We really like going here. Nothing fancy, but good solid Tex-Mex with friendly service and a comfortable feel. We love the veggie enchiladas...usually order with one spinach and one mushroom. Rice and refried beans are very yummy. A few times the service has been a little off, like a server ddin't know quite what they were doing with a drink order, or whatever, but NEVER had the service be rude or purposely negligent. They usually have a restaurant.com coupon...we go here agian and again.

Have been here a couple of times it's in my neighborhood. Haven't been impressed but on my last trip and will not go back I asked for a beer that they were out of at the time. Now being in customer service myself this restaurant is right next door to a liquor store I would have asked the manager to grab ten bucks go next door and grab a six pack thus keeping the customer happy im sure I would have paid for that six pack during my meal. Soooo yea im done with this restaurant.

Good Mexican Family-Owned Place. I discovered this "by accident", i.e., driving by and always a lot of cars on the parking lot 0 it mean something good - and it certainly does. Informal, but also a large room that could handle private parties. The service is always good. I have gotten chips, and salsa to go for pot lucks or when I'm making Mexican food. There's a special Chef's. It's been there for years and is a local favorite.

Not worth the trip. We have been here several times and it has been just okay. But our last visit was horrible. We changed tables because the first leaned and wobbled so much we were afraid our drinks would slide off the table. The salsa is like tomato sauce, no hint of any peppers or onions but it had a nice heat to it. My spouse ordered a beer and had to request a chilled mug for it. I ordered a dish of jalapenos and onion relish that never came. We asked for corn tortillas that we were charged for, I thought tortillas came with the meal! I had a taco salad and it was just so so, nothing to get excited about. We had to request extra napkins. I couldn't get the waiters attention to refill my water glass. After the table was cleared, we were offered sopapillas, which we assumed came with our meal but we were charged for them, They came out with honey and butter but no fork to eat them with! We didn't eat them after a little taste because they were fried in old oil and didn't smell good, much less taste good. I thought that if you covered anything in honey and butter it would taste good. Not so. We will not be back.

My boyfriend took me here for the first time. I love this place and our server was the best server there. a
After going here I want to come back. I experience with other server here when I come back, they were not as good as my first server I had. I came back to eat here about 5 times now. I can't wait to go back again. The food was delicious. Best Mexican Tex Mex ever!

Cheap, fast and good. That pretty sums it up about this place. Yeah, yeah, yeah so what if it's Tex Mex? I'm not complaining. If I did, it's because this place should open twenty four seven.

Dont order cheese enchiladas. I usually like this place its quick and the food is decent. They have a great chicken tortilla soup. It would be nice if they had limes to squeeze in it. I dont know how you can be a Mexican place if you dont carry limes! Today I had the cheese enchiladas...its the blandest thing ever. No spices no chili sauce no onions and was covered in a nasty flavorless cheese sauce. It was tortilla with cheese covered in what seemed to be a canned cheese sauce. I will not be getting these again.

Love it!!. I have been eating at Mexico Real for years and it never disappoints. I actually lived in Austin and used to drive home just to eat there. Chicken Enchiladas with sour cream sauce are the best I've ever had, but don't forget the desserts. They're great too. And the service is always friendly and fast. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

My favorite enchiladas in Fort Worth are Mexico Real's Chefs Enchiladas and I love this little hole in the wall! They treat you well and the food is good and it's not a big chain. My kind of place!

Same thing as the other dozens of mediocre mexican places. Had the taco platter. Beans were good. Tacos were bland. Rice bland. Guacamole sucked, tasted old. Salsa tastes like cumin, cumin and cumin. I'm sad that this didn't turn out to be a "find". Skip this one.

A small hole in the wall place and good food. I have an affinty for small places like this and it lives up to my expectations. The hot sauce ain't all that great though.
Danielle
Never disappointing.. I am really picky about Mexican restaurants because nothing tastes like my Grandma's cooking, but this is one of the places that makes the cut. I haven't tried a lot on the menu, because I don't make it over to that area much, but it's worth the extra 20 minute drive or so.

The cheese enchiladas and rice are great, and so is the hot sauce. The queso is pretty good, most people just expect it to be like the Velveta/Rotel mix that they make at home...and it's not, but that doesn't mean it's not good.

All in all I really like this little hole in the wall, the lack of natural light isn't a problem unless you're just looking for something to complain about, I really like the atmosphere, the waiters are nice and the food tastes so good.

My Fav Mexican food in Ft Worth. I love, love, love Mexico Real. It's a homey, laid back atmosphere in my nearby neighborhood. Everything on the menu is good and I grew up in San Antonio. Closest I have found to San Antonio mexican food.

Bland. Just another tex/mex place that makes all the same stuff. they don't offer anything that 30 other restaurants already have.... blah...
