A Fort Worth staple! The food is great, the location is central, the service is always good, and it's a beautiful building. I have been many times before but came today for lunch after work. I got some combination fajita nachos. I loved that the meat was diced and not big chunks like I’ve received at other places. The restaurant wasn't too crowded but it was still bustling. Def worth a try if you haven't already!

This burrito was not only massive, it was jamm packed with flavor. So cheesy and delicious. Definitely needed a to go box! The Mango margarita was perfectly flavored. I can't wait to go back! Our waitress was on point with her timing. Great experience!

I had never tried either dish and neither one disappointed! They captured the flavors exquisitely and it was truly a delight to your senses.

Pretty decent amount of space, and the food was pretty good. I would definitely return for the shrimp quesadillas.

Service slow.
Beef fajitas were best part! The green salsa that you can request is outstanding! Salsa Maria or something like that! So so good!
Margarita was outstanding! Did the job!

Food and staff were great. Plate sizes are pretty big. Price is right for the amount of food they serve you. We had the shrimp cocktail, cowboy enchiladas, cowboy tacos and a fried fish that came with a fish soup. There sweet tea, lemonade and horchata were delicious as well. I definitely recommend this place

This is a great place and I'm more than happy to reccomend. I've come here for some time now and I can say that the food is always consistent and good. I prefer the sea food of course but other meals are also good. I think that lately the service is not consistent but given the current situation I believe this is expected, however is not a problem and service is good overall.

EDIT: Changed my 3 star review to 5 star after second visit. Our second visit was much better. My son ordered the El 7 Mares cocktail with octopus, oysters, and shrimp. He gave it a 10 out of 10. My wife loved her Relleno. I tried a bite and it was delicious. I had the seafood enchiladas, which had shrimp and crab, with grilled veggies and white rice. Very light and delicious. Food wasn't cold this time. It came out hot and fresh. We will be back. Thank you to the manager for encouraging us to give them another try.

Great spot for lunch. The menu has a good variety. The food is consistently awesome. My go-to are the Fish Tacos. Fast and friendly service.

Can’t wait to dine here again. The food was on point and staff was very friendly and attentive. The brisket chile relleno and beef chimichanga were on point 👌🏽 The parking situation isn’t quite optimal but there’s plenty of street parking available so not a big deal. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family, for sure.

I really enjoyed the food here. It was authentic home style Tex-Mex at it's best. The salsa was really good and the queso was amazing. The chips were fresh and warm and the service was impeccable. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because their house margaritas leave something to be desired. They need a lot less sweet n sour and more tequila. Enchiladas were one of the best I've had! I would eat here again!

Was looking for food and this was recommended online so I decided to check it out. The entrance is through the outdoor patio which isn’t marked clearly to let you know this is infact how to get in. So don’t do what I did and walk up the ramp. It’s in this old house that has been converted which I find to be a neat concept. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty good. However, when my drink can’t stay full I take issue with that. All our food was correct but anything in between the waitress was hard to find. Hot sauce was pretty good and in the spicer side so if you do t like spice dip with caution. Chips were thin so they were breaking while I’m trying to scoop. Ordered table side guac which was good but very heavy on the lemon which I guess they were out of lime and needed salt . It was extremely chunky and the thin chips made it a challenge to eat. Then I got the combo fajitas which were pretty good, they had a seasoning on them perhaps Tijuana. I’m not sure, it was a little different but good all the same. Their veggies needed a little more flavor to be honest. They also didn’t have homemade flour tortillas. You also pay upfront. Overall It was pretty good and I’ll be back for another meal.

Wife and come here all the time. The food is great—she especially loves the ceviche Yucateco and the La Playa Nachos and I'm a bit fan of the nachos and their beef enchiladas. Salsa and chips are both great, too. If we've been here once, we've been here 50x and we'll keep coming back.

Food was excellent. I love their enchiladas. I have eaten here and the location in Arlington Heights area. Both have never disappointed our expectations. Service was professional and prompt.

Great service. I had fish tacos. The chipotle mayo with it was really good. My wife had the tortilla soup, and said it had a lot of flavor. Had a platinum margarita. It was really good but small.

Went here for dinner after seeing the line at Joe T. Garcia's. The waitress repeatedly walked past to wait on Hispanic customers first, food was less than subpar. The beef enchilada tasted of fish, the rice had no taste and the fish tacos had something I identified in one. Needless to say, would not recommend, even if starving!

Terrible service. We got there and they took our drink order obviously the waitress was so rude she don't even say hi or anything like that didn't oferred appetizer she dropp the food never came back to check until we were done.. I'm a server and I don't do that to my clients, I feel sorry for her !

Just awful . . .. Visiting Ft.Worth Stockyards, decided on La Playa Maya for dinner. We are Mexican/Tex-Mex fanatics! Canned cheese queso, canned refried beans, jarred salsa, canned W**f chili. Just awful. Strange waiter who kept addressing my daughter and me, but ignored my husband completely. My husband's taco fell apart from the water in the unseasoned ground beef. What a disappointment.

This is Mexican Done Right..... I can't rave enough about this place. The food here is sooo delicious. This place came highly recommended from a co-worker, because he loved their seafood dishes. On my first visit, I ordered the shrimp tacos, and was immediately impressed. The combination of the spicy chipotle and the sweetness of the mango pico on top of a fried shrimp taco was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunitely, I only had room for one taco, because I was already full from the chips and salsa (which btw are REALLY GOOD!!!). I will say the service was a little slow, but the food here is well worth the wait. If you haven't been here, I definitely recommend you give this place a try.

A New Low In "Tex-Mex". The Mexican combo plate had enchiladas that were tasteless, and the sauce was bland.
Nacho cheese from a can was poured generously over a listless cheese taco.
I got a beef taco on a plate that I picked up and water poured out from the "beef" inside. That is a first...water poured out of my taco.
Now I have had tacos at Taco Bueno, and they do leak a little fluid, but this was water, and clear.
I had to ask for a bottle of Habenero suace, and it was green and hot, but even trying to make it work, I could still taste hot sauce over very bland food.
Subpar beans and rice, I think they buy their chips, and I have worked at several mexican restaurants in AZ, and New Mexico, and Texas... salsa tasted good, and fresh, if too watered down and mild for my taste.
My advice: Please save your money and buy some El Charrito frozen dinners, they are 4 for 5 bucks!

Yummy. On a hot day, order the shrimp cocktail/bloody mary in the tall glass and the ceviche!

First timer. A friend suggested this place a while back and we finally had a chance to meet-up and give it a try. I had the Enchiladas Verdes and she had the Chicken Fajitas.. The chips were thin, but good. The salsa was spicy without being "too" spicy. The chicken enchiladas used quality meat, wrapped in a tortilla, topped with a green chili sauce.. The rice & beans were seasoned a little differently than a lot of places around town. But, it was a good different.. My friend's fajitas looked good and we had to get extra tortillas for her fajitas and the rice & bean tacos I made.. Everything was great! I'd definitely go back.

Great food, rude hostest. This is one of the better tex-mex establishments I have had the pleasure to eat at. I love their cheese enchiladas and their beef brisket crispy tacos. My girlfriend loves their Caldo Maya seafood soup. The wait staff is always friendly, but the older woman that hosts is curt and unfriendly. The manager is wonderful, and used to work at the Sunset location which is also very good. I highly recommend La Playa Maya to anyone looking for good quality and fresh food.

Yukkk!!!. I was extremely excited to try this restaurant near the historic stockyards in Fort Worth. I was intrigued by the chili relleno, stuffed with brisket, and I gave it a shot. After all, how can you go wrong with brisket in any format?

Well, I found out. The relleno was stuffed with with cheese and topped with a yellow nacho cheese. This did not work well together, and the meal was quite unappealing and lacked flavor.

The hard, store bought chips and thin, with no hint of spice, salsa was also a historic failure. I will get my chilli rellenos down the street at El Rancho Grande going forward, as they are off the chain good, and topped with a red sauce that is amazing.

Healthy options are good. Service was great. I do prefer warm salsa and chips to cold salsa and lukewarm chips. Seafood was tasty and priced right.

This is the best place in FTW! Workers are friendly & the pina colada are GREAT! This has become my favorite place!

Great!. Love La Playa. Their homemade tortillas are out of this world.

"I've had better frozen mexican food" - the review of a coworker of mine. Two things. First, who eats frozen mexican food? Imagine the complexity of making a staple mexican dish like a taco. I have a recipe for fish tacos that literally takes 15 minutes t
