I recently dined at Abuelo’s and it was simply the best dining experience I’ve ever had. What made it stand out so much for me and my family, was David our server. He was on point with our orders and never missed a beat. David went well above and beyond for us and it just made the entire dining experience, perfect. I hope you and your management see this David!
10/10 - You can bet we will be back, again and again. I highly recommend this restaurant if you haven’t tried it, or if it’s been awhile since you had. It’s great for the entire family; such a friendly place with a warm atmosphere.
This was our first time at Abuelo's. Our experience was above reproach! The food was excellent. Our waiter was excellent! I can't believe we have waited so long to go to Abuelo's to experience the best food, the best beverages and the best service there ever was! I just can't wait until the next time!!!
We just moved to this area and had lunch today at Abueo's and ordered Tilapia Veracruz
Tilapia Veracruz, chicken Enchilada for lunch and cocktail shrimps as appetizer. Though my son kinda didn't like cocktail shrimps, me and my husband enjoyed them. Loved the presentation and the sauce.
Then ordered Dulce de Leche Cheesecake for dessert which I tried out for the first time and it was jus so awesome. Mind blowing. The atmosphere is good, the staff is fabulous. Overall it is worth going. Next weekend , we are going there again.
A Step Above the Competition. I should go to Abuelo's more often than I do. They just seem to be off of my radar. But they shouldn't be. They do everything according to Hoyle. They have wonderfully decorated interiors with comfortable leather booths. Their dining ensembles are lovely. Simple, yet elegant dinnerware greet you upon arrival at your table. Everything is just perfect.
Once settled in with your menu (which is enormous, I might add), you are brought three salsas, only one of which I tried--the green tomatillo. It is chilled and has a marvelous citrus flavor. I just could not put it down. The chips themselves are light, airy and devoid of grease.
I had the Reynosa salad with shredded chcken. This salad really kicked butt. Yeah it had the base layer of lettuce, chopped tomatoes, guacamole and charro beans, but it covered it all with three kinds of cheese including chili con queso. It was very different for a salad.
Their tres leches cake was incredibly moist, plated beautifully on a pool of sweet cream sauce. Everyone should treat himself to dessert at lunch every once in awhile. I suggest this for a great finale.
Abuelo's always seems to offer a consistently good experience. Their menu is interesting; distinct from most other Mexican restaurants. The food also tends to be of the highest quality and the service good. If you want to change up your Mexican cuisine experience then this is a good place to go.
Hands down one of our favorite restaurants. We both tried a new entrée this time. They definitely dig disapont once again. The food was great, and the service is always an A+ and restaurant is always clean.
After reading several positive reviews about this restaurant, I was confident that it would be good, and thanks to Google Reviews it ended up being a great choice. Pretty much all the 1-star ratings had more to do with the service rather than the food. I did not experience any poor service whatsoever. Not only was our server very friendly and attentive, but another server volunteered to take our picture after she saw us struggling to get a group selfie.
Food-wise, for starters, the chips and salsa were absolutely amazing. They were thin and crispy, and the 3 different sauces gave a variety of flavours. The best one hands-down was the green one. I knew there was something citrusy about it, but I couldn't figure out what fruit it was. After asking the server, we found out it had pineapple in it. It was subtle and not overpowering. When we were out of chips, our server brought a new batch without us having to ask for more. One small recommendation: the larger circular dishes should be used instead of the square ones, because it's not easy to dip the chips and they don't hold enough salsa.
For my main dish, my burrito was absolutely perfect. The shredded beef was tender and easy to cut into. The guacamole was buttery smooth. The rice was fluffy, not hard like with many mexican restaurants I've been to before.
5 stars all the way!
Nice place. Service was a little slow, probably because we were seated in the back of the patio. Vegetarian rellenos were delicious and the beef enchiladas were good.
This restaurant was nice. Good food and the service was excellent. The flavors were on point and the drinks were nice. Food was hot and fresh. They have many options on the menu for all type of eating lifestyles.
The first restaurant I had to visit coming back to Dallas after 15 years. I was extremely happy that the high quality of both food and service has held up. The menu has changed but the components of the dishes are more or less the same. I still love the jalapeño-stuffed bacon-wrapped shrimp, which comes as an appetizer or as part of entrees, and I tried the perfectly tender blackened chicken smothered in a delicious cream sauce. Oh, and I absolutely recommend swapping out the beans with papas (mashed potatoes) if your entree doesn’t come with it.
Enjoyed a great meal while I was in the DFW area the other week. Great taste and attentive service found here! Would definitely go back!
I enjoyed my 21st birthday here. The margarita and enchiladas was good. I wasn’t able to catch my waiter’s name yesterday, but he was awesome. I look forward to coming back soon!!
Chris our waiter was very very good. Came to our table right after we were seated. Came right back with our drinks lol.
Went for a late lunch and had an amazing experience! The food was DELICIOUS and I really love the salsa variety that comes complimentary instead of just 1 salsa. Everything was so tasty, and the Spanish sangria was good too.
today is December 6, 2023, approximately 5:24 PM. I went in there to eat dinner and the young lady her name was Brianna was very nice. I told her I was allergic to onions and she went and spoke to the manager and the manager came out and went over everything with me that did not have onions on it to be able to make sure that I was able to eat a good meal. I want to say thank you so very much you do not find this type of service anywhere anymore. Brianna went way beyond to be able to make sure that I was able to eat comfortably and so did the manager. Thank you so much. I will definitely be coming back to this location to eat again.
