The brisket at this restaurant is comfortably among the best I’ve had. Perfectly marbled and so flavorful. There was the option for leaner cuts of brisket also and of course a variety of other meats. I thought the Mac-n-cheese and green beans sides were just okay, although a member of my party really enjoyed them, so it may come down to personal preferences. That being said, I’m definitely visiting again whenever I’m in the area.

Coopers Old time bar-B- que was overall pretty descent brisket. It was a little dry, but then again, it was later in the day. The sides however where good, and so was the service. I had the mac and chesse with jalapeños, pecan pie, baked beans, and sausage. They were good. To add, the atmosphere was very cowboy like. The location is right across the street from the coliseum, which is great if you want to watch a rodeo after eating. Overall, it's pretty good. i would take my friends here.

Had my grandkids with me hunting. Wanted to get them the “Coopers” experience. We arrived 15 mins before they opened. I walked the boys over to show them the pits. The staff came out to show them around and then said they could go ahead and pick their food. Classic great service happy to serve early. No rushing lets the boys pick and choose. Great food great service…..4th generation served.

I had the barque beef ribs and my friend had the ribeye steak everything was so good meat just fall off the bone. I had eaten all my food. I had the blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. It was so yummy.

Great place! We tried a variety of food: brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage, regular sausage, pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, jalapeno and bacon mac and cheese, grilled corn, and the peach cobbler. My husband and I enjoyed all of it. The food was delicious.
Cooper's provides outstanding service, and their staff is super friendly and helpful.
There isn't table service. You order your meat(s) by weight when you first walk in, then choose your sides and desserts in a cafeteria-style line. They provide all you can eat bread, pickles, jalapeños, onions, barbecue sauce, and pinto beans. Drinks are self-service.
Great place, very clean, terrific staff, cool decor, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

Ridiculously good. Everything tasted great. The staff were nice and helpful for my first time ordering here. The dining area is super spacious, and provides self serve stations for extra fixings. Appreciated the to go station with the roll of aluminum foil and plastic bags, there was no way I was going to finish all this in one sitting.

Love the food. The server for meat choices was not the friendliest. He seemed more annoyed than helpful. He made us feel rushed, and when it was pointed out, he was condescending with his response. Will go back because let's face it the food is great and the rest of the staff was hospitable.

Cooper's is destination barbeque. When talking Texas barbeque, brisket is king. So that was my main choice.<br/><br/>When you walk in the door, you are greeted by the pit master, standing beside his open pit, inviting you to choose from the many cuts of barbecued and smoked meats he has to offer. I chose a slab of brisket and sausage. The sausage is made by Cooper's and is a mix of beef and pork.<br/><br/>After choosing and receiving your meat order, you will go through a cafeteria style line to choose your sides and dessert should you have a taste for sweet to end your meal. I chose Cole slaw, and pecan cobbler, knowing full well I had more food than I could eat, but there are plenty of go boxes on the service line for later.<br/><br/>The brisket had a nice chew, great flavor and perfect serving size from hand carving. The sausage had an excellent flavor and was bursting with juicy goodness. However, I prefer a coarse grind sausage, which this was not. That's just a texture preference on my part and in no way a criticism of the sausage.<br/><br/>I have to mention that the beef rib one of my companions ordered was OUTSTANDING. The meat was literally melt in your mouth. Can not rave about this choice enough. If you like beef,get one, it will change your life.<br/><br/>The Cole slaw was crunchy and sweet, with a generous portion to boot. The pecan cobbler was divine and would have been perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I ate it on the road trip home.<br/><br/>There is a full service drink station, paper towels at the tables, and picnic style seating. The bathrooms are neat and clean.<br/><br/>Get there early because there is always a line, and when they sell out of an item, it's gone till the next day.<br/><br/>Cooper's is a great barbeque experience and it's right next to the Forth Worth stockyards for those weekend travelers. Enjoy some excellent food there.

A couple weeks ago we were doing a lot of stuff in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. Ian and I had driven by what was claimed in Google to be an El Pollo Loco (but wasn’t). We found ourselves in the Stockyards area, and drove past Cooper’s, and had to stop in. Cooper’s has a lot of potential. You order your meat first, then some sides, then sit down at long tables family style. Your Q is on butcher paper.

Visited for my first time about a week ago. The meat did not disappoint. I had the sliced brisket which tasted great but was thicker cut than I'm used to. Also a good amount of fat which I trimmed. I wish they trimmed it before you pay per pound, or had a leaner option. I was not a fan of the BBQ sauce. It's extremely runny and not much flavor. I think it's more for the BBQ fan that enjoys meat with very little sauce. I wish they had a 2nd option but it wasn't horrible. Husband had sausage and said it was fantastic. The mac n cheese was probably some of the best I've ever had. I'd go back just for that! Potato salad is white, mostly huge chunks of baked potato. Not my favorite (I prefer yellow) but it tasted pretty good. Nice cold beer. Lots of seating so we didn't have any waiting even at prime time on Friday for dinner. Cafeteria style.

Big disappointment. 1st visit. Roasted corn was great and pinto beans not bad but meat was too dry to eat and sauce tasted like pure vinegar....so nasty. I spent a ridiculous amount on 3 kinds of meat and none was edible. I didn't know ribs could be that dry.

Worst BBQ Ever!. Brisket was overcooked and had a really bad charred taste. <br/>Ribs were terrible.<br/>BBQ Sauce was liquid like a soup base<br/>Potato salad was basically whipped potatoes with some chunks in it.<br/>Corn was overcooked, probably good to use for deer hunting. <br/><br/>We had high hopes that it would be great, since its in the Stockyards, but we were fooled. Definitely a disappointment! We ate there at the peak of lunch hour. The only thing good I can say about the place was the music wasn't loud. As for the price, it was inflated, especially for the caliber and quality of the food. We brought home the ribs we didn't eat and gave one to our dog and she rejected it.

Well where to start being the first time at coopers it is confusing going through the line then we received the chicken half and it was cooked but you can tell by taste when someone puts real bbq effort in chicken, it was missing, the brisket was over cooked and the sausage was well over cooked everything was heat lamp,d<br/>Way to long. Beans were good the slaw and tator salad was just ok. My rating is a Big Two Thumbs DOWN. On the positive side the Tea was good...

Just for tourists. If you really want great Texas BBQ skip this place. The sauce was more like Carolina sauce, thin and vinagery. What a joke. However, if you like overpriced, serve yourself, bus you own table, so-so meats, then this your kind of place.

Just About Perfect!. I know everybody has different barbecue tastes, but if you don't like Cooper's, nothing's gonna please you, unless you're wanting some kind of fake East Coast barbecue. This is the best beef brisket I've ever had (ALWAYS GET THE LEAN VERSION, NOT THE MOIST, FATTY VERSION UNLESS YOU LOVE FAT!!!!), and their beans, which are complimentary, are incredible...so good in fact that I never get any other sides...I could make a meal out of just the beans. The service is always super friendly, & they don't try to pressure you into buying extra stuff. I go all the time, and it's always the same...SUPER. If you want real Texas BBQ, this is it.

A little pricey, but good. I went for my first time tonight, using a Groupon. I decided to make it easy on myself and I ordered the ribeye with baked potato. I added an iced tea and the total was a hair over $30 (before the Groupon was applied). That's more than I would normally spend on a dinner for myself, but the food was good.<br/><br/>I'm not really a huge fan of ribeyes. "Most" restaurants seem to think ribeye means "let's find the fattiest piece of meat we can and charge extra for it!" That wasn't the case here. Yes, there was some fat around the edges, but the bulk of what I received was actually MEAT. It had a good flavor to it, too!<br/><br/>The baked potato could've done with less pepper. You see, I'm one of those crazy people who likes to eat the skin of the potato. The baked potatoes have a "healthy" coating of pepper which makes eating the skin rather inconvenient. After several bites, your taste buds are in for a "treat," as the effects of the pepper seem to "add up."<br/><br/>All in all, I liked the place and I'd go back. I'm not sure if I'll go back SOON, but I'll probably go back, at some point. If nothing else, I'd like to try some of their other choices..

I'm confused, why are we eating $50 worth of food on paper "plates"? Prime rib was good but under seasoned by a lot. Asked if they had A1 or any steak sauce and I got told BBQ sauce was all they had. Who doesn't carry steak sauce in a steak place? Best homemade ranch ive ever had tho. Probably will not return unless fully equipped with plates, seasoning and A1

Good - not great. I've visted Cooper's on two occasions and it's definitely not among my favorite BBQ places. Location is great and it has a real Texas BBQ joint feel about it, but most of the BBQ is just ok. I've had ribs, brisket, sausage and pork chop. All was average except the pork chop - that was the best pork chop I've ever had! Thick-cut and very tendor and flavorful, but that's the lone bright spot for me. The sides are basically grocery store slaw and potato salad that nobody liked enough to finish and the all-yoy-can-eat beans were bland.

First time will be the last time. Meat was good, had 1/2 chicken, but their BBQ sauce is the worst I've ever tasted (vinegar/water) and I have to have a good thick sauce with my BBQ. Would not recommend this place.

Worst BBQ EVER!. Tough dry flavorless meats, way too very sweet cole slaw. The WORST sauce I've ever tasted. And, to top it ALL off ... the entire staff is RUDE. Horrible place. WAY over priced. Do not waste your time or your money. This is NOT real Texas BBQ. This is the worst BBQ in Texas.

BAD for de Gringos and pure CRAP for me..!!. Just got home from my first and last visit to this poor excuse for a BBQ joint. High prices and tasteless food are not my idea of a good night out. We brought some guests from Indianapolis to the Stockyards and decided to have some real Texas BBQ. Well, having been to numerous great BBQ joints, I have to say that this is the worst I have ever been to. There was nothing good about this place...!! My advice is to stay away from the watery sauce, the boiled tasteless ribs and the rip off high prices. The packaged ribs in the sauce from Albertsons has it all over this place. Tomorrow I am going to take my friends to Smokey's on Lancaster where we should have went in the first place. Their meat, sides and price way out shadow anything these guys could ever cook up. This place is a Texas disgrace for sure. Don't waste your $$ and go to a real Texas BBQ joint...You will be glad you took my advice...Trust me..!!

Coworker order a 19 dollar pork chop it came out uncooked (4 of us saw it) told the mananger the manager said "we put the thermometer in and it was at temp" didnt offer to cook it more ...nadda . wont go back wasnt that good

Is this TEXAS barbeque?. For tourists who visit the stockyards and think Coopers is Texas barbeque at its best, think again. The sauce had more watery vinegar than anything Memphis ever created. I like black pepper, but I don't like a full cup of it poured into the free pinto beans. It's a great concept. I like the big meat pits at the front door and the family style feel of the picnic tables with rolls of paper towels and loaves of bread. And believe me - I am all about the meat. I just like my meat to be tender and juicy. Not dried out and soaked in vinegar.

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!. All right............can't find the level of negative words I can say about this food..went there for lunch today after reading all the hype about this place.....been eating bbq all my life and this has to be the ultimate in BAD BBQ (if you can even call if bbq)....nice facility, friendly people, BAD, BAD, FOOD!!! Terrible taste, vinegar slop they call sauce, no taste on the ribs or sausage...cooked so well done I had to get a knife to get the ribs off the bone....I'll never go back and will never refer anyone to this joke of a bbq restaurant...These guys should have stayed in Llano or wherever they came from.

Loved it! It's nice that you can get as much or little of each item you want. Brisket and ribs were the best I have had in a long time if not ever! Looks like they have bands on Friday nights and serve beer all the time. Its a New favorite for sure!

Love this place.. I hear a lot of people say this is very pricey, if you don't eat 2lbs of meat it's not. Where can you get 16oz Prime rib for 18.99lb? Half a chicken is 5.00 and it is the best chicken ever. The baked potatoes are to die for, my wife and I go at least once a week, went today got two half chicken two potatoes' sausage and two drinks, 23.00 and not to mention the free beans, heck we took half of it home. Love, love, love, this place.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT/Instead go to Sonny Bryans on I35W. Beware: We spent $87 for 5 adults with no alcohol Saturday, Dec 18, 2010. When you walk in the door, the meat looks so good under the big grill lid. You will have no idea that it will cost as much as it does. They put your fatty meat on the tray, and you will pay for every ounce of that fat. Brisket was cut poorly, huge chunk of fat with a little stringy meat attached. Should have handed it back to them on the spot. The beans were the best part. The barbeque sauce is very runny and none of us cared for it. Eating was very messy; should've left the plastic tray under the meat. There is no lemon, no peppers, and no one except the guy cutting the meat was friendly. Go anywhere-- go to David's BarBQ in Arlington (great barbque and great price), go to Sonny Bryan's, just don't go to Coopers. If you like lean brisket, Sonny Bryan's and David's will not charge you any extra for really delicious lean meat. And the sauce is good at those places. Rudy's is not my favorite, but they shine compared to Coopers--even tho they charge extra per pound for their "lean" meat.

Coopers FW BBQ Pit. We went to Cooper's BBQ the other evening in the Stock Yards, someone said "try it" and we were over that way anyway. The place immediately reminded me of the Hard8 in Coppell now... get your meat first, right out of the cooker. <br/><br/>I had the pork chop, slightly more than 3" thick... nice. All the meats looked really good, probably should have tried a rib, too, but stacking on meats can get expensive quick. <br/><br/>They slap the meat right onto a red cafeteria-line tray (clean I hoped), weigh it and then wrap it in butcher paper, back on a new red tray. Wife had her usual chopped beef sandwich. You get beans, peppers, onions and bread "free" they say. Yea, right... not at that price. Bought potato salad in a small plastic container, not many other options. I thought the pork chop was excellent, however, the sauce was very running and almost all vinegar. Not impressed, I like my BBQ sauce thick enough to at least stay on the meat. The beans were good, loaded with peeners, but the potato salad best described as mushy. <br/><br/>Seating is picnic style benches in long rows. Beans, peppers, eating utensils, napkins and tea in the middle of the room, but we had to hunt for the bread in the back. Eating off the butcher paper with water thin sauce tends to make for a mess, get plenty of napkins!<br/><br/>Their parking situation is ridiculous, you go into BillyBob's pay lot, fork over $5 to the attendant, drive around ropes into the Cooper's lot. Once inside, they give you $5 off your food purchase with the receipt. Still expensive. <br/><br/>We probably won't go back, but glad I tried it. I'll stick with Riscky's in Fort Worth, just haven't found anywhere that beats their huge "all you can eat" beef ribs locally!

Brisket is Excellent. I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and was very impressed by the brisket. Plenty of fat to add flavor, but not so much that it ruined the texture. It was also meltingly tender. The sides were okay, but the brisket was really delicious.

NOT IMPRESSED - OVER PRICED. My husband and I stopped into Coopers for the first time today after picking up tickets at Billy Bobs for a group. Was kinda thinking maybe we could all enjoy the Texas experience at Coopers before the show next weekend. <br/><br/>Am I ever glad we went alone. We had the sliced sandwich special which was nothing special. It came with one small serving of coleslaw or potato salad. We tried both. The complimentry bar offered sliced raw onions, sliced pickles, beans and bbq sauce. The pickles and beans were seasoned with something hot and the bbq sauce was very runny and had a distinct afterflavor like vinegar. They do offer baked potatoes too,<br/><br/>Nothing special about the decor in the restaurant either. Cafeteria style with long tables. Your meat is sliced and handed to you on a bare cafeteria style tray. You then take it to be weighed and then find out just how much your dinner is going to cost. In my opinion definately not a place to take out-of-town guests for a Texas experience.<br/><br/>I will say that the sliced beef was tender and had a nice flavor by itself.

So glad Coopers opened in Fort Worth.. I've been making my wife angry for years going out of our way on Austin trips by stopping in Llano for Coopers. It's my favorite, so I am biased.<br/><br/>As soon as they opened in Fort Worth I had to go. I was not disappointed. But like others have said here, if you don't like vinegar based sauce, don't use it and don't cry about it if they put it on. It's good and not your typical boring Dickeys bbq that most people seem to like here in Dallas.<br/><br/>Highly recommend the pork ribs but don't let your eyes get the best of you because you will speed a lot of money. Order by the pound and they will get you close.

On the fence. Reading the reviews on Urbanspoon I would have to say Cooper's Old Time Pit BBQ is undisputedly one of the most controversial restaurants in Fort Worth. You either love it or you hate it. In my case I was actually on the fence about it. I completely understand everyones comment that place is expensive. For 2 people I ordered 1 lb of brisket a Pork Chop and a corn on the cob it was $30 bucks. The price did include all you can eat baked beans and bread, which were situated in the dining area. Another complaint I have is Coopers side dish selection is rather limited and is not included in the meal. I saw cole slaw and corn on the cob. The meat (both the pork chop and the brisket) was tasty but definitely not the best I ever had. I will go back to Coopers but not that frequently becuase of the hefty price tag.

Wonderful BBQ!!!. I have eaten at the location in Llano but not in Fort Worth yet but I can tell by the reviews of the Fort Worth location that these people just don't get it. It's not cheap in price but it is worth it. It is a very laid back atmosphere not fancy. One of those that had eaten at Llano thought this one was too sterile. We shall see. The Big Chop is by far my favorite but the rest is really good too. A few weeks ago we ate at the Llano location and were so excited to find out that they had opened one in Fort Worth. We live in East Texas so this will not be so far away. Looking forward to eating there really soon.

After seeing coopers and reading about them ,Five of us went to try, all i can say ,it was not very good,Oneperson of the 5 thought it was OK, I agree , more like pot roast, the chopped tasted like cooked hamburger, we dumped it in the trash We sampled everything, the only thing decent was the turkey.. I would not recommend this as a good place to go

Overpriced. Listen to the reviews. We read the reviews and still went to eat there. Big mistake. So over priced. we bought 1 chop beef sandwich, small potatoe salad, 4 drinks and 2 bags of cheetos and it came to 25.00. That is 1 sandwich. Then we added 6 ribs and that brought the total to 61.00. I could not even finish my sandwich it was so bad. Ribs were decent. Very disappointed with this place.

Just about like I remembered it. I stumbled on the original Cooper's in Llano a few years ago on a trip between Sweetwater and Kingsland. It was the best brisket I've ever tasted - Salt Lick, Kreuze's, Smitty's - none of them can hold a candle. <br/><br/>We went to Cooper's Ft Worth and it was just as good. Reading the reviews, I'm beginning to think that they must have one pit master and one pit apprentice - it seems to depend on what day you go, as to whether you get good bbq or not. <br/><br/>I've also read that some folks got too much fat on their brisket. The day I was there, the pit boss asked me if I wanted lean or "marbled" brisket. The fact that they asked this tells me that they are aware that not everyone likes lots of fat and are responding to folks' preferences. Changing to suit your customers' preferences is A Very Good Thing. Me, I took marbled and cut the fat with bread and onions. Not exactly a healthy choice, but it was gooooooooooooooooood...... <br/><br/>I'm also very partial to their sausage. I know next to nothing about sausage making, but I know what I like and this is some of the best sausage I've ever eaten. It has a coarser grind than a lot of sausage, and I like the texture. I'm not sure why I don't like the finer ground sausages. Maybe they're using the finer grind to hide crappy ingredients? Who knows. All I know is that the sausage is nice and spicy, but doesn't activate my heartburn.<br/><br/>I'm looking forward to trying the pork chops on my next trip. I didn't even think about them because of the brisket, but so many raves have me looking forward to them for next time.

Tough old bland overcooked meat. Just got back from dinner at Cooper's. What an expensive disappointment. I had 5 ribs (at a whopping $22) that we so overcooked, instead of being fall-off-the-bone tender, they were actually hard and tough and crusty on the outside. Instead of bbq sauce, they offer huge soup kettles of vinegared down tomato soup - don't know where their idea of bbq comes from - but it's the worst I've had in a long time. And please... loaves of Mrs. Bairds bread still in the plastic bags...I'm not sure that should even be allowed by the health department - what about a yeast roll? And if a restaurant is going to serve prime rib at $18,99/lb with no sides beyond a pot of unlimited beans, then the cook and guys manning the scales should be trained in what "au jus" is and be able to supply it to a customer upon request. Had our 9 year old nephew along - despite a previous reviewers claim, this place is not child friendly and there's nothing on the menu for kids. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Bland BBQ. Is this steamed? It is so tasteless without sauce that it seems steamed. It is very tender, and the sides are OK. Bread is a loaf of Mrs. Bairds at the end of the room. And it is SO expensive! It has the price per pound posted, but not until you pick your meat out and get through the line do you know how much it weighs! I dont' mind expensive, but I do mind tasteless BBQ. That is a shame!

Crappy BBQ for the Rich and Famous. I've been hearing a lot of buzz about Cooper's around town so I decided to try it out for lunch today. In my honest opinion, this is one of the worst places in town.<br/><br/>Cooper's claim to fame is that you order your meats right off the smoker, and they will cut the meats to whatever size you want. I ordered 2 pork ribs, 1/4 pound of jalapeno sausage, a baked potato and an iced tea and my bill was $19.50. My buddy's bill was $26.50. <br/><br/>The meats are smoked, but the flavor of the meat was nothing too impressive. The sausage was way better than the ribs, but it is pretty hard to screw up sausage. The sauce is very thin and had a very strong vinegar taste. The offer free pinto beans that are nothing special. <br/><br/>I've eaten at pretty much every BBQ restaurant in Fort Worth, and I'm having a hard time thinking of any that I don't like better than Coopers. I make better BBQ in my backyard.<br/><br/>I'm not trying to totally flame Cooper's but in all seriousness, even if the pricing was in line with what you would expect at any of the other decent BBQ places in town, I don't think I would go back. Buyer Beware!

Expensive for the quality. The sausage was great. The pork chops are huge, but be careful as the cost gets out of hand quickly. Big fan of the blackberry cobbler but was extremely disappointed that a la mode meant getting a pre-packaged ice cream scoop that was hard as a rock. I threw the ice cream away. I might go back for the sausage, but the pork chops aren't worth the money and the ice cream was a joke.

Bad Experience. Had the ribs even though something told me to get the pork chop. The ribs were the toughest that I have ever had. The sauce was downright nasty. <br/><br/>It was expensive and I had looked forward to this Texas institution coming to the metroplex. <br/><br/>I will visit it again to try the pork chops but I would be embarrasssed if I was the one doing the smoking that day.

Everything is overpriced, the sirloin is okay but the brisket and sausage are very sub par. The vinegar based sauce is so disgustingly overpowering that I could not even finish my meal. Coopers is merely a tourist attraction in the fort worth stockyards. Any real BBQ fan knows this place is garbage. Oh, but, the beans are free. To bad they taste like watered down mush.

Brisket was great. Pork and beef ribs are good. Sausage is average at best but brisket more than makes up for it. Cold beer and decent sides. Overall one of the best BBQ joints you'll find in the Fort.

Expensive, but right up there with the best. I'm a fan of good old fashioned Texas Hill Country BBQ. In my opinion, you can't beat good brisket, ribs and sausage. Cooper's lives up to its Llano namesake and follows through with the best brisket I've had since my last visit to Louis Mueller's in Taylor - and that's setting the bar pretty high. In the DFW area, only Angelo's comes close, and their brisket isn't nearly as good, in my opinion. This place is a breed apart from mediocre chains like Dickie's and Spring Creek, and doesn't even need to be in the same conversation.<br/><br/>Of course nothing can match the, um, "ambiance" of the original Cooper's in Llano, but I'll put the new store's food up against the old one's any day. The brisket was fantastic - moist, well-seasoned, and not overly smoky. It was damn-near perfect. Their jalapeno sausage was also excellent - juicy, a little greasy, and it "snapped" when I bit into it. If there was a weak link in the meat, it might be the pork ribs. While they were tender and very tasty, there wasn't a whole lot of meat to be had - lots of fat and cartilage that went to waste (expensive waste, since you're buying by the pound). Their sauce is more of an au jus, just the way I remember it from Llano, and it goes well with the meats I sampled. If you're expecting KC Masterpiece, you will disappointed in the sauce. But then again, KC Masterpiece isn't exactly a culinary masterpiece.<br/><br/>For sides, I started to try the potato salad, but then I remembered about the free beans. And then I saw the cobblers. So I came to my senses, put back the potato salad, and instead ordered a scoop of blackberry cobbler. After I plowed through my pile of meat, I remembered I still had cobbler somewhere under the butcher paper and wadded up napkins. As much as it pained me, I dug in. It was just plain awesome. Sweet and tart and tangy, with a crispy, flaky crust. The only thing missing was a dollop of vanilla Blue Bell.<br/><br/>So what's not to love? Well, it's pricey. My ribs, sausage, cobbler and tea came to about $25. My friend's brisket, sausage and tea (no cobbler) came to about $23. However, I will come here do it all over again. You will end up with plenty of leftovers - especially if you get the lean brisket - and just think of the money you'll save by not driving all the way down to Llano!<br/><br/>Even with the high price of entry, this is a welcome addition to the DFW BBQ scene. Plus, it lives up to the name and the reputation that comes with it. Kudos.

I love Coopers. Have been enjoying the Llano location for years. The new Ft Worth spot definatly has some room to grow. Not physically.....the place is huge, with TVs on the walls and a beer bar. I know you gotta grow with demand, it just makes the Llano location that much more special. The food is good but just not "Coopers" quite yet. Everything was just a little too shinny and clean. Even the meat didn't look as dark and smoked as the original. The staff seems more lost about the concept than the customers. We will be back soon....Coopers is great BBQ IMO, this new location just needs some seasoning. :-)

Get there!. The newest BBQ joint in Fort Worth is easily one of the best. This is from the same folks who brought you Coopers in Llano, and boy is it good stuff. Step up to the pit and select your chuncks of meat. They have all the standard stuff, plus extra goodies like cabrito (goat). Try a half chicken, and be sure to get it dunked in BBQ sauce by the guy. The only bad thing about the place is the annoying setup they have with their front doors and the line (you'll see what I mean if you go during a peak feeding time.) Beware also, this meat is cooked "cowboy style" over high heat, not slow smoked, so if you are looking for a heavy smoke BBQ flavor, you won't find it here!

Good BBQ. The BBQ was good but, I like another poster said, it was way over priced. I got the pork ribs-3, 1/4# sliced beef and 1/4# sausage plus coleslaw and a drink. $23.00. I didn't care for the BBQ sauce. To runny and no real taste to it. The pork ribs were meaty and had good flavor. Sliced beef was good and tender and the sausage was good as well. The coleslaw was standard. Now I also went to Off The Bone BBQ and it came with two sides and a drink and still had to pay $21.00, but you got a ton more food. For your monies worth it's OTB BBQ.

Good, but massively overpriced if you're not careful. Everyone I know has spent $20 per person the first time. And the meats are expensive when you consider that the fat is left on and weighed. Oh, and because they use charcoal it doesn't have a smoky flavor. Go on Monday and try the special.

...I ordered spare ribs, sliced beef, and regular sausage (they offer jalapeno cheddar as well.) The brisket was moist, showing a decent ring, a very nice smoke flavor, and a very developed crust. The only complaint I have is it lacked seasonings, mainly salt. The ribs were the best I have had in the area yet, very tender and smoked perfect.

seems that Coopers bbq is just a fun kinda place to visit & eat. the Q really ain't that good. i won't be back. they must get a lot of business from the pre "Billy Bob's" crowd. if you go, get a 1/4 lb. of each meat that you like. maybe a baked potato. beans are ok. tea sucks. sauce sucks bad. don't let the cutter put any sauce on your meat when you first order. have fun. sr you can find there web page HERE .
