Review El Camino Fort Lauderdale - Fort Lauderdale

Christopher Zakem
My go to Mexican spot in south Florida. The food is consistent and delicious. Happy Hour times get confusing but if you make it during those hours it’s such a great deal. Even the chips and salsa is an amazing appetizer. They have a huge selection of tequila as well as great cocktails. I recommend trying the chicken quesadilla.

The service is good and fast. The atmosphere is always vibrant with music, waitress running around with tasty margaritas and most of the time full of people. The food is very decent, the quality of the meat and the chicken could be improve. Sometimes they have a lot of fat. Prices are aligned with the location and quality. This place is great for parties and get together with friends. The location is fabulous, it’s in the middle of the boulevard Las Olas. Easy and walkable distance to different parking lots around the area. Pet friendly.

I had an amazing meal at El Camino. I am visiting from out of town and this place was recommended by one of the locals. They have a HUGE selection of tequila and mezcal. The atmosphere is open and a little dim. It would be a perfect place for a night out with friends or a romantic date. I ordered the empanadas, the home made strawberry lemonade, and a few tacos. Everything was excellent and the waiter (Gary) was great as well. I think one of the most notable things about this restaurant is that they do mostly homemade items freshly made day of, or even made at time of order. The guacamole was incredible and I really enjoyed the homemade hot sauce. I will definitely come back again next time I am in Ft. Lauderdale.

The vibe and mood is amazing at this place. From the music, lighting, the bar, layout etc. Food is okay, had better Mexican at other places. The tequila menu is mind blowing, so many options. Had one of the best chilled tequila shots here. Good spot for drinks but not food.

Great atmosphere and excellent food. One of my all time favourite spots in town. The margaritas are delicious and can really sneak up on you. Service is great. If you go on a busy night expect to wait a bit for your food but know it’s worth it. My top picks are the pineapple coconut margarita, chips and guac and pork belly tacos! Incredible food and great service. You can tell the staff enjoy working there and it’s great to see.

Freshly cooked delicious food and good service. You know the chef and team have pride in their food when they have an in-house fresh hot sauce. The food was very fresh and delicious. Will be back!

I got the combo tacos so I can try several kinds of tacos. I loved them and I honestly loved the dessert even more. Especially the tres Leches! My only issue is that the music was too loud we literally couldn't hear each other.

*Our order* Guacamole and chips Chorizo quesadilla Combo Tacos *Margarita's* Smoked Pineapple Strawberry Pomegranate This place is always popping on the weekends along with several others on Las Olas. The songs they had playing when we went on 9/23 were better than a club! The food is yummy, and the drinks hit the spot. Order the guacamole as it's super fresh! Sometimes they will make it in front of you and put on a little show.

My wife, brother, and I recently took a trip to El Camino in Fort Lauderdale, and our experience was a mixed bag of sensations. The place was packed to the brim, alive with a spirited crowd that added a sense of energy to the whole setting. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, the music was a tad on the louder side for our taste. But, we understand it's part of the scene that defines El Camino. When it comes to the food and drinks, El Camino does not disappoint. We found the dishes to be bursting with flavor, hitting all the right notes for a satisfying meal. The margaritas, in particular, were top-tier - meticulously crafted and packed with zest. The prices, while steep, seemed to reflect the high quality of the ingredients and the care put into the preparation of the dishes and drinks. It's certainly a factor to consider, but the quality and taste of the food and drinks make it understandable. In summary, El Camino offers a lively, albeit loud, atmosphere with delicious food and fantastic margaritas. It's the kind of place that leaves an impression, and while the prices are on the higher side, the overall experience provides a unique take on dining in Fort Lauderdale.

I was glancing through TikTok one day, and saw someone do a great review on El Camino‘s in Fort Lauderdale. So I definitely had to try them when I had a day off from work with one of my coworkers. El Camino’s is located in downtown Las Olas near the river. El Camino’s is decorated as a rustic taco shop with a dark wood ember appeal to it. When we walked in, we met a friendly hostess, who took us to our table, and actually was also our waitress. She gave us some great suggestions on what we should try, and she was on point with her suggestions. The margaritas were amazing! They had the right amount of sweetness and alcohol to where they balanced out perfectly, and they gave us a nice cool down, especially during the hot weather during the time. We ordered the queso dip which was so cheesy and thick. The crunchy tortilla chips paired very well with it. We ordered their three taco option plate, which allows you to pick three taco flavors, no matter which ones, and you’re giving rice and beans as a side for under 20 bucks. While you are eating, they have a plethora of TVs to watch multiple sporting events plus wonderful music, playing variations of music. I cannot wait to come back to El Camino‘s for their dinner which I heard is a nice vibe.

Excellent food, best guac and pico de gallo ever! Wait time was 1.5 hr, but totally worth it...also my niece lost 20$ in there and we went back later and they found it and returned it. Honest people, great food, I recommend the Chile steak fajitas ☺

My Burrito was one of the best I have ever eaten and my margarita was on point. Fun atmosphere and great vibe.

It was our first time here and we really enjoyed the place. The food was great as was the vibe. Service was also good but there were a few little issues. There was no salt and pepper on the table and we had to ask for it. They must have forgotten and we had to ask a second time. Same thing happened with our water. We asked for more and the server forgot until we had to ask a second time. The servers were very friendly but they were also very busy. We also ordered chips and salsa for an appetizer. They delivered it with two types of salsa but no explaination as to what they were. Thinking the red was the traditional, I dipped my chip only to find out it was very hot which I do not like. It would have been nice if they had explained the different selections when they delivered it.

Worst tasting food we’ve ever had (and we aren’t picky at all). The guacamole tasted like a pre-made spread. The one at the grocery stores tastes 10x better. The tacos were absolutely disgusting. The “crispy fish” tasted like a reheated frozen fish stick and the “pork belly” tasted like nothing. They were also dry and had no flavor. Even the nachos weren’t good. Highly disappointed. The 2 stars is for the atmosphere.

Too noisy . food overpriced . dry meat . small amounts of wine for the price . waitress got the order wrong And worst of all we didn’t know we would be charged for salsa and chips and they brought guacamole to the table which we didn’t order and were charged for it

Great place. We had lunch and everything we ordered had a fabulous taste. Portions were good to share. Definitely recommend this place.

Amazing margaritas, brisket tacos were great. The only downside is the noise. I get it that it’s a bar, but the noise even on the other side of the restaurant was extremely loud. I’d definitely go again

Hands down the best Mexican place in town. Thank you everyone for taking care of us!!

The food was great and the server was nice but it took a very long time to get our order...then to get our bill...then to pay the bill. It was over a 2 Hour lunch when it should have been 1.

Great Happy Hour...Nice staff...but stick with the tacos! Burrito’s are too big just stuffed with meat and nothing else. Sounds weird to b&t:h about getting what you pay for but burritos need more condiment filling. Great brisket Quesadilla! Light but filling! Watermelon or guava margaritas are fabulous...

The rice and chicken enchiladas were very salty. The salsa both mild and smokey hot were horrible. The margaritas were good. It's a good after work atmosphere for drinks but the food is nothing to wait for. A 2 rating was generous.

Best guacamole in town!! Loved our server, Giavonni! He was great and did not constantly come and check on our table but saw when we were in need of fresh drinks and apps. Hostess team could use some training though. They did not start the evening on the right foot and acted as if it were a bother to ask them where the restrooms were. I will be back though.
