Review The Royal Pig Pub - Fort Lauderdale

William Jazon Jr.
Came here with my family to celebrate my sister's 37th birthday. We had a reservation with OpenTable and when we arrived, they had our table ready in a great spot in the restaurant. Patricia, our server, was nice and attentive. We where's group of 9 and they did a good job with the service. The food and drinks were great, especially the old fashioned, tropical margarita, bang bang shrimp, shrimp and grits, Thai burger and cookie skillet dessert.

Great food and drinks, but even after 3 years the pub needs improvement in its logistics. Servers miss tip worthy details like cleaning the table of rubbish, refilling ice tea, and delivering the small things in a timely manner. Even so, The cocktails are excellent and the food never disappoints you. It’s just that you need to recognize you’ll have to steer your own ship in this pub. Chances are when you enter you’ll be sat in a small uncomfortable booth against the wall if there are only two of you. It pays to request a sit down table with much more comfortable chairs. It’s not as fancy and upscale as the pictures indicate and the prices reflect. Lots of high-end locals frequent the pub, so it’s definitely a great people watching place. It’s just not on par with restaurants in Fort Lauderdale, using “be nice” company as a baseline. But definitely recommend going here to experience the Las Olas crowd. The food is five stars—Royal just needs to train its hosts to be more intuitive and to smile.

The Royal Pig Pub was bustling with business. The staff was super friendly. Our order arrived at the table faster than expected, considering the place was overflowing with people. The food looked wonderful and was delicious! Will definitely come back.

Not gonna let the fact that my 49ers lose the game in this facility affect the review. This place was swamped. I felt lucky to get a table. The manager brought his A-game. It was definitely a full house. Everyone who works there were really friendly. I love the layout, the whole vibe of this place. Wanna come back on a regular night. Food deals and drink specials were just that....special. The burger was cooked to perfection. This place is a gem. PSA- make sure you keep your meter paid. I missed by 1 minute exactly and there was a ticket on the windshield and no sign of the officer who wrote it

I came here because I've haven't been to sit down restaurant in a while, so I decided because of the reviews to come here. I will give 5 stars because of the food and service. I sat at the bar this time and was greeted by the bartender while I was seating myself. I ordered a whiskey sour which was made with out a mix. It was delicious. I ordered the Fish of the Day, which was the flounder with Louisiana dirty rice with roasted pork belly, green bean and carrot "almanxine", and meuniere sauce. The flounder was fresh and cooked perfectly. It was light and filled you up without being overfill. The sauce paired with the green beans and carrots was outstanding though I wish the carrots were cooked about 30 seconds more. The rice was cooked properly and seasoned. I could eat that by itself. There was only one piece of pork belly, which was great but wanted more with the rice. I will definitely come back. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The bartenders are great and made sure I was satisfied. This is how restaurants should be run.

This past sunday(yesterday) me and my family was recommended to sit and have brunch at the Royal Pig and let’s just say it exceeded our expectations. I had the bang bang shrimp as a starter and the chicken and biscuits and gravy w/ scrambled eggs with cheese. I was so pleased with everything. Our server Jonathan made everything sound great so our choices became harder. The Head chef Art came out to our table we really needed to thank him. As he assured us it wasn’t only him it was also his girls in the kitchen as well. We will definitely be back waaaayyyy from Orlando. I’d highly recommend this place to everyone I know. Ps I had the bottomless mimosas 🤷🏾‍♂️ Great 👍

This is an amazingly great restaurant! The bleu cheese wings, hamburger, fish and chips and fried chicken & waffles were unbelievable! I am very impressed and will definitely come back! I highly recommend it!

We went in a whim. A quick open table search and we had the place m, and I appreciate that their in open table. You walk in and walk through a really cool room with a tiled vaulted ceiling. We asked to sit outside. I ordered a Watermelon Rush. It was just the right balance of alcohol and sweet. Our appetizer was a spinach dip which comes with bacon bits and pico de gallo on the side. It was hot and cheesy. My meal was the “pork on pork”. It. was. so. good. It was bone in, salty, juicy and just perfect. The manager cane over and spoke to us at length about our meals and experience. The service was great, the ambiance was great, the food was phenomenal. There are tons of restaurants in the area, but you should 100% try this one. ~~~~~ We returned a year later and went back. This time I had the Korean pork loin with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans. Still a great time.

The food quality and customer service are consistently incredible. We’ve gotten takeout here at least 6 times over the past 4 or 5 weeks. Their cleanliness and adherence to the current standard are top notch. They are are putting all of their nearby restaurants to shame with their food quality, service, prices and flexibility. Jacques has served us several times and has been wonderful.

My husband and I went for my birthday. Our waiter was great. The spinach dip appetizer was great. Our power bowl and drinks were fantastic. Going back soon

Allie was a great host & waitress. The unlimited mimosas & peach Bellinis were great. My Boyfriend had the Chicken & Biscuits meal with gravy & their grits while I had the chicken & biscuits appetizer. I left full, tipsy, & delighted!

First I want to start by saying TRAY is the most amazing server. He is welcoming, funny, fast, an overall fantastic waiter. He provided us with recommendations and house specialities that we were “guaranteed to love” and sure enough, everything was amazing. On Wednesdays they have $10 half racks of ribs (which were packed with flavor) and half off bottles of wine under $50. We also ordered the Maui Tacos, but switched the Maui for Tuna (the Brittni Special is what Tray called it!) and they were amazing. Great ambiance overall. It’s a beautiful bar inside and outside. Every booth has its own personal tv so you can watch any game your table wants. I highly recommend going for a date night or any sport event you want to see.

Just fantastic had a few hours to kill before our flight home. This place was great. Atmosphere absolutely top notch. Our server she was amazing she did tell us her name and I forgot must have been the beers. Lol. Food was amazing. Sauces with my burger we off the charts. Next time in Lauderdale this will be a hot spot for us. Highly recommend

First time here and letme say the service got of to a slow start. I expect to be attended no less the 5 minutes after sitting at the bar which by the way had maybe 5 people sitting at it. Once I was able to get my drink it got better. Ordered the pull pork sandwich with truffle fries. Sandwhich had good flavor but was a bit colder then I would have liked, the fries lacked flavor and also were cold. Defiantly was not wowed by the food. Beer is beer and as long as it’s cold it’s good. I’m not from the area but I would give it another shot if I found myself near Las Olas again.

Great food, great atmosphere! Was a really good experience. Our waiter was phenomenal, great recommendations and was on point with everything. Definitely will be added to one of my regular places to go on a Saturday, or any given night!!

We LOVE the new Sunday Brunch menu at The Royal Pig! It was good before but NOW it’s truly a *proper* Brunch menu - but frankly, we’re missing the very very special Sunday Bloody Marys. Anyone who ever enjoyed one of these fantastic, bacon-stir-stick-garnished wonders on a Sunday will agree I’m sure. But we love the new menu more so it all balances. Service is always terrific with fresh, young, knowledgeable staffers. Monday’s SPECIAL (all day) features the standard Royal Pig Burger with your choice of fries (reg, sweet potato or TRUFFLE fries!) plus a craft/draft for only $10. How can you beat that? Royal Pig has never disappointed us, ever. A favorite place to bring our houseguests on a Sunday.

Food was exquisite! Went for Sunday lunch and service was awesome, with no wait. I had the Mahi sandwich which was so good but it was pretty hard to fit in my mouth which sucked(still managed). my boyfriend had the monarch burger and it was SO good. Oh yeah and we had the bacon Mac and cheese..... Needs a pause ... It was SO DELICIOUS!

The food isn't as good as it was when they opened, but it's still the best atmosphere on Las Olas. With big TVs that are close to the bar, its a great place to watch the game. <br/>

Not a fan.. Very overhyped. I think is kind of a tourist trap. Small portions and big prices. Our server was nice and the place looks good, but the food was below average for what we paid for it. Disappointed.

Not too bad but cold mashed potatoes nearly ruined the porchetta. The truffle fries for the app are a great choice. The house beer was also killer and would have gone great with the porchetta but the mashed potatoes and aujus came out luke warm and it was sent back. I do not like when restaurants put a cold plate in the overn, it heats the plate and not the food. I was hungry went ahead to eat. The porchetta was on point; great crust and the fatty goodness was there with a sweet note. Great choice of herbsherbs and spices, loved the fennel taste. I should have any insisted that the aujus be hot at least and probably should have asked to have some adjustment made to the check. Maybe next time. Service was great.

Nice to sit and have a drink but NOT good food, mediocre at best and over priced.

Craft beer and pig...... Wow

Good place to eat ,socialize and watch the game. Foods good and always pretty girls around! Hard to beat that!

Cool Place with Bad Food. A really fun atmosphere but the food is strange. Nice beer selection and friendly bartenders. The food is too saucy with lots of bread. Burgers are your best bet, with the cole slaw.

Yawn. Another place trying too hard to be different...a mish mash of all styles of cooking. expensive e drinks, however great desserts.

With multiple screens on every wall, this is the perfect place to catch a Heat game. Even if you're not there for a game, the place is quiet enough for you to chit chat with friends (and lively enough for you to people watch). The service was great-- thank you Jimmy! As for the food, we had appetizers and dessert. I suggest avoiding the sweet potato fries and chocoholics should avoid the almond basket if they are out of the chocolate soufflé.... Other than that, sliders, nachos and corn bread are all delicious :)

Meh.. Caveat: I did not eat a full meal, having just an appetizer and drinks. That being said -- I see no reason to go back. "Killer" shrimp were anything but. Drinks expensive. Our bartender knew nothing about beer...or about the specials of the day. I think this place is all "style," no substance.

When you have a name like the Royal Pig, you have to know how to make great pork dishes right??? Crispy, great flavors, I mean if you were on Top Chef and got pork as your ingredient, you would score right?? How many ways can you make great pork: Asian, the famous pork sub with cilantro and jalepeno etc- the Banh Mi, Southern style crispy pork tenderloin and grits, a perfect BLT, A great wedge salad, I could go on and on. Not the case here. Very nice staff, but they have no concept how to cook a great pork dish. The chicken is not good either. Both taste in every dish we all had that they were boiled in grease. Ugh. The people next to us also said their dish was horrible. The Waitress, sweet as could be said, oh, the burgers are awesome, that's the way to go. NAME CHANGE? The Royal Burger; we did not try the burger but pork is NOT their thing. Major disappointment!

Good place to catch a game. We went to the Royal Pig Pub & Kitchen to watch some football on Sunday. Several TVs broadcasting a variety of games. Atmosphere seemed nice inside but we sat in outdoor bar area which was comfortable. They have a good selection of beers here. Food was very good. We had the tuna salad sandwich- was really quite good- and the barbecue sandwich- also very good. The tuna salad had tomato sauce on it which sounded odd initially but was very tasty. The place was packed by 1:30 Sunday afternoon so if you wanna catch a game here and have your choice in seating, go a little early. We liked it and will go back.

Really?. So it seems the people who own Hooters own this place. It def shows. Food is below average and expensive. Drinks were ok. Reminds me of a glorified Fridays. Service was ok nothing great. The hype will be gone soon.

We’ve heard many good things about the Royal Pig Pub & Kitchen in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale and we finally made it there. While crossing the street, we noticed some tables outside in the front facing Las Olas Blvd and also an outside bar to the side of the building with patio seating. It was hot today, so it’s definitely a day to enjoy cool A/C.                   When we walked through the front door, we were struck with a cool amazement at the unique

The Royal Pig Pub is now open on Las Olas in the space previously occupied by the Samba Room. It's a cool place with a lot of TVs and interesting pub fare.
