Oh my word. What a tiny hidden treasure!! I downloaded an app for historical markers for our road trip and Fort Bridger came up- we decided to venture out and see what there is to see and what an incredible place! So many fun buildings and very informational markers. Dad We arrived before the park officially opened but we were able to pay the fee at a drop box and still enter and we drove straight in and around to all the amazing buildings! We got to go in every direction and peer into all of the buildings. Very well kept and documented and it really gave you the sense of what the Fort looked like during its use. Then we stumbled on their museum and it was open! We went in and explored the wonderful exhibits and read so much about the history and timeline of the Fort. My favorite part was that they even had a small temporary exhibit about women’s suffrage for the centennial anniversary! They also had a small souvenir shop which had books and small gifts, and nice and clean public restrooms! The woman working the front desk was very bright and helpful and very informative. A very welcoming presence and made the experience that much more awesome! A must see and well worth the detour. We have decided to always make it part of our road trips in the future!

I had read about this place on the internet before I went there and so I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. However fort Bridger is a lot more interesting and a lot cooler than I was expecting! The staff and the rangers were all incredibly helpful and friendly and the location is just beautiful! So much of Wyoming seems fairly boring but this place was just pretty. The museum is excellent and the map and guide that they give you when you pay your admission fee is very helpful. The different buildings have excellent displays well described and laid out. Fort Bridger is well worth a stop if you're traveling anywhere near this part of Wyoming. I'm so glad I visited today. By the way right now the admission fee is $5 for adults that are not residents of Wyoming and $3 for Wyoming adult residents.

This was better than I was expecting. I love history, and this was a great piece to explore. Only lost one star because some of the buildings were locked and you couldn't see through the clouded glass. Lots of antiques that are in great condition and the museum is fun too! Great for kids!

Interesting historic site with nice grounds, museum and gift shop. Buildings are closed in October but the grounds are open for walking around and looking in buildings via the windows.

This place makes a great stop for all ages. The history and authentic buildings are in pleasant grounds of grassy open spaces, aspens, and a creek. Dogs are allowed most everywhere on leash. The museum has a small gift shop of history books etc. It's only a couple of minutes off the freeway, and we found it easy to navigate and park while hauling a trailer. There were a lot of mosquitoes in June, use bug spray. The expansive grounds are very flat and easy to walk, but handicap parking spaces are worth using to get close to the museum bldg if you need easier access. Entrance fee was $5 per adult, well worth it. Our 10 yo son found it interesting, and he was free!

I was delighted with my experience at Fort Bridger after a long and arduous trip from Independence, MO. Plenty of Conestoga wagon parking, great Buffalo hunting, and a well-stocked general store. After loading up on blankets and quinine, the family and I are continuing our trek to Oregon. Thanks for hosting us Ft Bridger!

We did not have time for an extended stay at the Fort but the picnic area and restrooms were very clean and well maintained. It was a nice respite from truck stops and rest stops. Worth the the entrance fee.
