Overall was a pretty solid place.
Narita Bento $31:
For the cost, it was honestly quite a bit of food and it was definitely very delicious. All of it tasted fresh and had wonderful flavor. Highly recommend it as it will let you taste a lot of different options and will likely fill you up and you might end up with a little to go
Fried tempura icecream:
Was a sweet vanilla ice cream with a light tasting tempura batter. Overall was a great dessert to finish off the meal with
Mango Sangria:
Delicious drink. For a Japanese place, the sangria wasn't bad. Surprising even.
Atmosphere:
We got seated in the back with a nice backdrop of art work which looked like waves in a more typical modern japanese art form. It felt a bit private and definitely gives it a nice date like appeal. My one qualm is that walking to the table in the back was a bit tight. The tables are situation kinda close together so I imagine when it's crowded, it will get loud and may be difficult to walk to and from the table if you need to go to the restroom or outside.
Definitely recommend on a slow day for a date night. Was a nice place.
Bill for 2 people was $91 + tax
Tasty authentic food, a variety of items to choose from in a great atmosphere for the whole family.
One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood! The owner is super friendly and plays great Jazz music. The lychee martinis pack a punch and the food is fresh, hot and delicious. They also have a section where you can eat with your shoes off for a more traditional feel.
The sushi was just amazing!!!! The flavor factor was spot on… I have an autistic 21 year old son who never would eat sushi and he saw it and said wow mommy looks good can I try? I was so happy!!! I updated my post and added pictures of my second visit to the restaurant on November 5th- loved drinking the Cool Cat!!!!The service was spot on! Very friendly
I'm writing thsi review since I recently have visited my relatives in Forest Hills.
Food: I got a salmon teriyaki, yakitori, and miso soup. These were amazing and the salmon almost melted in my mouth. I highly recommend it
Ambiance: It was slightly busy, but the decorations are very nice!
service: waitress was good
They have gotten rid of the teppanyaki tables and the bar has been extended to accommodate more guests. The is still delicious.
Narita is one of the best Japanese establishments in New York City. I have been going there for over 18 years. Their cuisine is well prepared, delicious, and healthy. They treat their local customers like family, which makes it a constant for me.
Beacause I'd our new world we were seated outside. Perfect eve for it. Food was delicious! Drinks were tasty needed a bit more alcohol in my case ordered a sweet drink so I feel it needed a bit more kick. Definatly will return. Service was a bit slow, very busy servers ! Kudos to them I think anyone working restaurant services need extra love too. Great place!
Great sushi rolls. Great flavor with the proper balance of everything in it.
Everything was perfect!
Came for lunch and had the pan fried gyoza, stir fry vegetable udon and some sushi and sashimi. Everything was fresh and made in the spot - nice to see the sushi chefs making it in front of you. Food tastes great too!
Service was attentive and prompt.
Absolutely highly recommend this place.
Nice atmosphere in this restaurant. The food is prepared in 15 minutes, tasty and appetizing)

Have you ever had Sangria with Boba? You should. It's a small restaurant but the menu is very unique, you will love every bite.
Excellent, authentic Japanese food. The manager Stephanie, tastes tests some of the food at random everyday to ensure quality.
It's a tossup for the best sushi in Forrest Hills between the small unassuming Sushi Time on Austin and Narita. Narita scores big on ambiance, and depth of menu, with Hibachi options, variey of rolls, and overall presentation. Great flavorful miso soup with large chunks of tofu, great nonsushi items like Tonkatsu, and Oyakodon and ramen options, all unavailable at Sushi Time, make Narita standout. And while I have a slight preference for the sushi at Sushi Time, overall Narita makes great sushi too. Ultimately it's a question of whether you want good sushi in an unpretentious place (go sushi time then), or a nicer sit down place with some nonsushi options, go Narita. There are a lot of other sushi places in forest hills, from Jade to Mocca, but overall your best bet is to always choose between these two or opt to pickup a poke from the new poke place if you just want a quick cheap bite . Also of note, great lunch special bento box at $12.95, though when they say available till 3 it's because they close until dinner, so make sure you don't arrive at 2:50 and expect a sit down lunch.
Best sushi in the area and a nice bustling atmosphere! Love eating here.
