Cool spot! Drowsy Poet is a quaint coffee shop located in Foley, which is about 20 minutes north of Gulf Shores. I stopped here for about 30 minutes before driving back to Texas in order to enjoy some quite reading and a hot coffee. The inside is spacious, with two different rooms filled with chairs and tables. There is also an outside patio, if you're into stuff like that. The black coffee wasn't anything mind-blowing, but they seemed to have a lot of different different flavored lattes that looked good. The staff was also really kind and welcoming. I would definitely recommend if you're in town!

loved the whole vibe of this place! got their sassy strawberry iced tea, but without any sweeteners and it had a fresh taste to it. became a fan of all their little decors. sat down for about 3 hours getting school done and i feel like i could be back again.

This is a great coffee shop to visit. The staff was extremely friendly, patient, and helpful as we decided what we were going to get. Love the fact that they used an old gas station as the building, it was very modern. The coffee was really good and the smoothies were very tasty. Will be visiting this place everytime we come to town.

I couldn't stay long, but I would definitely want to chill here for an hour if I could. The atmosphere is nice and matches the aesthetic of the "garage coffee shop" (which I'm a pretty big fan of). The girl who helped me was super nice and patient, she helped me order when I had no idea where to start. The Poe drink she recommended was so good. I forgot to get her name, but thank you if you're reading this! I'll be coming back again soon.

The quality of the coffee drinks here is quite variable. Sweet Home Coffee in Robertsdale has the best coffee in the area, with Beach Girl in Gulf Shores running a close second. Southern Shores in Foley and Gulf Shores is similar to Drowsy Poet. I've pretty much given up on the latter two, except on Monday afternoons when my choices are limited. Sweet Home is closed on Mondays, and Beach Girl closes at noon every day.

I loved the Aloha iced latte with coconut milk and macadamia nut! Incredible flavor, Awesome staff and very comfy environment. The first thing I noticed was the dog water bowl outside of the coffee shop! I love pet friendly places so much 💞 we need more of that in the world

UPD: Stacy the owner reached out to me and was very kind to make sure my next experience with Drowsy Poet is positive. Stacy did say that they had new staff and it wasn't supposed to happen. As I mentioned before, the coffee here is great and I really hope that everybody who comes here has a great experience.
Original review: Good coffee but I'm very bummed about their birthday offer. They say you can get birthday cake latte on your birthday. In the drive thru I say I want it and that it's my birthday today. They ask what size, I order my regular medium size. Then they charge me for my latte... I say it's my birthday, don't I get it for free? They said, "no, it can only be small" 🙄 why did you ask me what size I wanted then?! I'm still enjoying my coffee as I'm writing this but hey, that's not good customer service.

Went in here around Mardi Gras to get coffee on my way home from visiting family in Gulf Shores. It looks like a really cute place to hang out and study, but the staff weren’t very friendly. The coffee I got was overly sweet as well, but that might be on me for ordering the wrong thing!

The Drowsy Poet has the best coffee and atmosphere. The cookies are the best; especially the Snickerdoodles and the second best are the Cowboys. The sandwiches are awesome and all made in house by the best chef in the south. I am a regular and have enjoyed every visit and will continue to go. Congratulations to the little best coffee shop in Alabama.

This is the coffee shop that Foley needed! This place has a warm, cozy environment, eclectic feel, and incredible coffee! This is the place to go to get fueled up, or to just relax and chill with your favorite caffeinated beverage. You have to try this place!

Great atmosphere and delicious coffee. We had a Toffee Mocha and it was perfect, not too sweet as some other chain coffee shops have. Outside seating makes this place dog friendly too. Highly recommend.

Excellent Mocha! Super friendly and even made my 3 year old a special drink. We will definitely be regulars! Love that there is a drive through if I don't have time to sit outside and enjoy my coffee there. Can't wait to try more menu items!

Came in today and got the Shakespeare drink. Needless to say I went back to work and told all my coworkers how good it was. Probably one of the best coffees I've had in a LONG time. Makes me never want to go back to Starbucks it was that good. Looking forward to when they start serving salads and sandwiches. It's nice to have a local place that offers things not fried.

First time it was a unique set up I liked that it was different. I ordered a iced vanilla latte it was great. The customer service was good they weren’t very friendly but maybe they are shy. It is nice to have another option in town
