El Potrillo Mexican Restaurant

Hard to give a thorough review due to the unique nature of my visit. First, I was with a party of 20 and second their AC was out and the temperature in the restaurant was not what you could normally expect. Disregarding all of the above here is my review of the things that matter the most. Staff were friendly and accommodating to our large party. Our waiter was fantastic. He stayed on top of refilling chips and drinks. All orders came out as ordered and in a timely manner. The food was great. Everything I tried was really good and tasty. Everyone in our party was happy with their food. The negative for me or the one thing that would keep me from returning is the prices of the food. I eat my fair share of food in Mexican Restaurants around Flowood and Madison and my family of 4 on average spends approximately $52 per outing. Looking over the menu we immediately saw the price difference. Total cost minus the added gratuity for our large party was around $80. For us, we will stick to the restaurants we like to frequent but if anyone is curious their food is really good. Overall a great experience.

Excellent. I tried the pork and it was tender and delicious with just the right seasoning. My wife had the taco salad which had a most unusual flavor but very nice. Portions are huge. It would get 5 stars but decor and age of furnishings were detracting. Don't let that drop you from trying though. We will definitely go back to try some of the dishes we had never seen before on a Mexican menu.

My family and I love coming here. On our last visit, service was top notch. Julio took care of us. He kept our cups full, replenish our chips, and check on us throughout our visit. Food was good as well. We got the spinach enchiladas, chicken and steak fajita salad, a chicken burrito, and kids pizza.
