I had read in one of the reviews, “hidden gem” I couldn’t agree more! We went with a family of eight. The kids had the Cuban sandwich, I had the fried pork bits, and the mahi-mahi salad, also the Grouper special. Would definitely recommend. Very tasty.
Diamond in the rough for sure. Located inside the marina on the bayside as you cross the Tavernier creek bridge into Islamorada. Not easy to find but you will be glad when you do. Quirky small place right on the water. Very small and adorable. Has inside seating for a maximum of 25 to 30 people. Outside seating available. Be prepared for rustic fish shack feeling. Really good Cuban food but fresh seafood as well and of all things, pizza! See my pics of what we ordered. Price was VERY reasonable.
Not just for Cuban food. The seafood is excellent too. And, for my fellow celiac sufferers, you can get salads s well as sandwiches. The best word for this place is "Yum!"
I visit this restaurant 2-4 times during the summer months. It's my go-to restaurant in the middle keys. Food is always super tasty, service is friendly and efficient, they're resonably priced with huge portions. The palomilla steak and grilled chicken breast with moros/ tostones or white rice/black beans and maduro are staples at this diner. I only limit myself to 2-4 visits per month because of my waistline, otherwise I would be here every night. It's like home cooking. One of the best cuban restaurants in Florida. Try their keylime pie, it will put you into a food coma! Finish it all off with a cafe cubano.....
We visited during mini lobster season and brought our own lobsters, fresh from the dive boat to prepare. (see photo) They very reasonably charged $11 per tail and that included two sides. The black beans and rice were good as well as the plantains. Would return if we are in the area again.
What a great place!. My wife and I stopped in for lunch after a morning of fishing. We had great service and food - roasted pork w/ rice and beans, fried bananas and some grouper. The food was really good and prices were even better, considering the Keys. Even the restrooms were clean, which is a rarity down in the Keys. Thank you for the wonderful meal - we will return soon!
Excellent Cuban food and pizza. Locals love this place. The price is right and the seafood pizza does not dissapoint. I send all my boat rental customers here and nearly all are happy. Tourists can get food not available back home and locals have a reasonable place to have a good meal with large portions. We eat here once a week and always see locals.

If you want good food and casual dining, Habanos fits perfectly! Very fresh seafood, delicious Cuban menu, and generous portions at a fair price with nice service! One of our favorite local restaurants!
Not Too Shabby. I live across the street from Habanos so it's our go-to place if we don't feel like getting dressed up to go somewhere but still want good seafood. The food is always good for the price. Before the restaurant was Habanos it was the Captain's Table and its retained that local feel and attitude. The seafood is always fresh and you can always get the beer battered shrimp or scallop platter even if they aren't listed on the specials for the day. They have a limited bar -- only beer and wine and even those selections are kind of slacking. Still, a great place to go for a chill night out.
Perfectly located next to my timeshare. This new restaurant hit the spot, not only do they (Cook your catch). But they also have some great items on the menu. Service was as good as it could be as packed out it was. Everyday there has been a wait for a table.

'Locals' Cuban dining on the water. Try the large Cuban fried steaks and of course, the Cubano. The cracked conch was amazing. Full bar. Recommended.
We went to this restaurant on December 10 , I went with my sister for the half marathon in Islamorada nice place and experienced. We ordered Fried pork chunks, croquetas , seafood pizza and mariquitas everything was delicious and the beers were very cold . Ours server was very friendly nice restaurant love it Hopefully we can visit them soon 😊
Today we had lunch here. It was highly recommended by someone to us so of course we had to try it. We are so thankful we did! I got the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich with fries. My husband got the Cuban Wrap with Chicken and homemade chips! This by far has been our favorite lunch spot since we have been here. Everything we had was packed with flavor. Oh and make sure to get you a sweet tea!
Honestly, I didn't expect much when I walked in and the first two things I ordered weren't ready, but WOW! This place is amazing!
The Pepper Steak was hands down the best I've had. Scrumptious!
The Blackened Chicken Philly was also great. Not as amazing as the Pepper Steak, but an absolute delight.
The Moro is a must order. Add it as a side of the Pepper Steak along with the Tostones. The Citrus garlic sauce served with the Tostones is spectacular, light and zesty with a brightness.

Portions were plentiful and food was good! Service was attentive. Marina side view leading into the ocean. The Cuban coffee is absolutely delicious.
The food was delicious and good size portions. Plenty of space to look out the windows at the boats out back. Will be back.
Best conch fritters I've ever had. Also excellent: black beans, palomilla steak. The service was slow because they were pretty busy. But it was worth the wait. Nice view to the marina. Great food!

We love Habanos and stop here regularly when in the Keys. We also stay at Caloosa Cove Resort (next door) whenever we are in Islamorada. It is an easy walk to this restaurant if staying there. This restaurant focuses on Cuban food and it does a fantastic job of it. Think Cuban sandwiches, roasted pork, etc. My all time favorite item they make is the lunch exclusive wrap. It has meat, rice, beans, veggies, plantains(!!!) and a chimichurri sauce on the side. Fantastic and I wish it was offered for dinner also because I love it so much. We went on June 24, 2021, for dinner and we ordered Cuban sandwiches and a pizza. It was all tasty. Good portions. Both my son and I had half our sandwiches left over- so we could have ordered one sandwich and shared it!
They were busy. Our server, who we have had before, could be seen as abrupt and unfriendly if you do not understand her and the restaurant. She doesn't always greet you and just asks what you want. She is busy and warms up with a smile and a thank you. We will always love this place and her- we know and see she is working her butt off to make sure everything is done well and right. I wanted a to-go sangria to take to my room next door but they don't offer that- so I just ordered another one and drank it at the table. Haha. Recommend stopping in here for a nice, quick lunch or dinner if traveling the keys. I wish they served breakfast so I could enjoy their great Cuban coffee in the morning!
