Review Camille's Restaurant - Florida Keys

I discovered only one standout Indian restaurant in Key West, which is the Tikki Bar. While the ambience is decent, they do operate with a limited staff, although the team is friendly and welcoming. I found their Fried Rice, Garlic Naan, and Paneer Gravy to be exceptionally tasty. However, the Lentil Bhel was a disappointment and not something I'd recommend to anyone. It felt like a hasty mix of ready-made lentil dal with onions and tomatoes, lacking the true essence of Bhel that most Indian-origin individuals would expect. Moreover, it's not worth the $11 price tag, and the $7 salad could benefit from finer cutting and better presentation. One important note is that they automatically add a service charge/gratuity to the bill, regardless of the table's size. Additionally, there's no Wi-Fi available, and only street-side paid parking is an option.

Yes, I went through most of the reviews before and I don’t know what others experienced, to write a bad reviews, my experience was so good. Tried few option and it was delicious and freshly prepared. vegetarian dal-tadka 8/10 Basmati Rice 10/10 Garlic Naan 8/10 Chicken Korma 9/10 I asked for onions and green chilies with lime, it came out fresh and chopped perfectly. Go for it, they are good.

Its very hard to find the Indian Cuisine in the Florida Keys and this place is the best in Key west providing authentic Indian fusion… The only disadvantage is the sit out space which is very less but you cannot complain much as they are serving the best indian food in the keys.

Food is good. We loved the Gobi Manchurian which awesome and crunchy. Everything cooked fresh. The owner is very friendly person, - quick service - good location Cons: - little bit congested - we expected more cleanliness Note- its la noisy place die to live bar nearby. No parking available. But you can pay and park on street if any availability. This is the same restaurant owner as Indian Harbor restaurant which is closed permanently.

Amazing Indian food!!!! We ate key west seafood for lunch but this was our dinner spot! We tried 4 different dishes here within 2 days and they were all outstanding! Thank you Kumar! Amazing! ❤️💯🔥 We loved the comfort of the restaurant. It was really nice! I think you are doing a wonderful job and I hope you're here next time we come into town!

Food was great and prices reasonable. There was no one in here on a Friday at noon for breakfast or lunch and it surprised me. Surely beats a lot of the other places that serve breakfast. For the price it is well worth it coming here. I got the 3 egg omelet. It was huge and filling. Tasted great. The potatoes were seasoned very well and were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend coming here for breakfast.

Great Indian food in a relaxed atmosphere. Portion sizes are generous. Service was really good, too! Would definitely go back!

Great Indian Food!!! We was visiting Key West and was just trying all the different restaurants around. We came across this place and it didn’t disappoint. We got the fried cauliflower for the appetizer and it was great. Husband got vindaloo spicy and he said was really good and just the right amount of spice. Me and my daughter got the tikka masala mild cuz neither of us like spicy and the flavor was perfect. We also got garlic and cheese naans. We loved everything!!! Great place to eat!

Walk right in and sit right down. Get your best lamb kadai! No Taj beer, alas. Great butter chicken, onion kulcha and veg. samosas!!! Yum.

Very good restaurant. The servers are very friendly and give a true family feeling to the restaurant. The food at breakfast when we went was outstanding. I lived the quinoa and spinanch hashbrowns. I had Godiva white chocolate French toast which was solid, I wouldn't say it blew me away but was very good. My wife had a salmon omelette and wow were we impressed. That omelette was huge and packed with salmon and veggies. Also, the small cheese grits was the size of a medium to a large which made me happy for 3 bucks haha. A place worth going to at breakfast.

From the outside it looks very tiny restaurant, dark and not properly maintained but trust me when I say food makes up for it. Taste was satisfying and all dishes were great. Portions are little, like 1 curry is enough for 2 people only(may be not even 2 ). Took 1 start off of service because the staff is so not friendly. They can do better in both services and atmosphere.

Awesome testing Indian food. We went to this restaurant everyday when we were in key West. Their paneer Tikka masala was awesome, paneer kadai was great too. The rice was cooked to perfection. Could have more salad options though

Honestly- this is the best and only great Indian restaurant in key west. We ordered biryani, tandoori chk and curry and it was delicious. Their staff is super warm and loving. Service is great. Highly recommended. Must go and try once.

Went to Indian Harbor inside Camiles, good but not great. Small portions, expensive. The service was very good and the naan bread was the highlight. I'd try more there since it is the only Indian cuisine in KW outside of the farmer's market.

This was by far the worst service I have ever received. I am truly astonished right now at the obscene and offensive service at this establishment. The worst part of it all was that the service was coming from the owner directly. When I respectfully asked for a different waitress because I had already had enough of the I'll-mannered woman, she proceeded to say, "bite me." In that situation I felt helpless and trapped because she was the owner of the business. I ate my food cautiously praying that it was not spit in. Then when we walked out she went as far as to say, "never come back." This woman has the devil inside of her and this rotten establishment needs to be avoided at all costs.

We've been in Key West for Two days & nothing special about the food places that we ate so far . We looked up places for breakfast close to our hotel & found Camille's . Our food was outstanding , pleasantly surprised . I had the Three eggs breakfast , my wife had the Blackened mahi , & my daughter had buttermilk pancakes . Thinking about trying them out for dinner .

This place was awesome and the service was great !!! Conch Fritters !!!! You can enjoy the cool air and the atmosphere is not so loud and crowed as the other places !!!

The food was good and our server and other staff were very nice. However the owner/hostess was nothing but rude to us and continued to make rude comments every time she came by. I couldn't believe an owner was so disrespectful to her customers. We almost walked out but we wanted all you can eat crab legs. Won't be going back due to her crappy attitude.

Always a good trip to Key West when you can visit Camille's. Some down homes favorites and some upscale new foods (at least to me) Looking forward to my next trip.

Key West Quirky. First things first. We really liked Camilles. The place has a comfortably quirky feel, just like Key West. From the pink exterior and interior walls, to the laid back, but still attractive ambiance, to the slightly kitschy feel, Camilles is fun!
Best of all, the kitchen puts out some fabulous food.
While the cuisine is American Modern, the menu changes every day, depending on what is fresh, in season, and available dockside. This is a family owned and run restaurant, starting its 26th year. So you know they are doing a lot right to persevere all those years in this restaurant-rich tourist town.
The clientele contains a strong and lively cast of regulars. We dined amidst couples, business women and drag queens.
Since the menu changes daily, I will only point out that there are always a good many salads to choose from, plus two soups. The creamy potato with chipotle soup grabbed my taste buds and wouldn't let go. It would be perfect on a cold winter's evening, so I will try to replicate it when I return home where the winters are cold.
You can always count on main course options that feature chicken, pork, beef and several fresh catches, including Key West pink shrimp. Sauces and accompanying sides are chosen to best compliment the featured meat or fish.
Prices are very reasonable by KW standards, and portions are generous. We both left stuffed.
Service was folksy/friendly, at least until our check arrived. We never, ever saw our waitress again, and had to flag down another waiter to come to our rescue. That oddity aside (it is Key West, after all), we had zero complaints. We hope to return when we visit next year.
Food: A
Service: B
Atmosphere: A
Menu Sophistication: A-
Value: A

Absolutely awful. Service was horrible; not from the waiters because they were great but from owner or manager. Horribly rude, no class and just not an atmosphere anyone could enjoy. Simply awful.
Tom Short
Happy atmosphere, great dinner crowd on Saturday night, fresh local seafood prepared to a "T", great sauces, great seafood and a great evening for all 7

Surly at breakfast. I enjoy the food but went in for there 3 days in a row and got: 1) angry wait staff that begrudgingly served me (slowly), 2) Waited 15 minutes, no one even acknowledged me and, 3) seated, served coffee and then I became invisible. Not served for nearly 20 minutes and, if I didn't have a meeting, would've stayed to see if I could set a record for the worst in Florida (and beyond).
Sorry folks, this place use to be one of my favorites - going downhill fast.

Was not impressed at all, I'm a local and have heard good things but there was NOTHING I would come back for.

Good Lunch. Stopped in for lunch on Veteran's Day before the parade with a fairly large group. Our server was nice if a bit inattentive, although our food was served quickly. I had a chicken salad sandwich and the tomato basil soup, both of which were wonderful. Several members of our group had the grouper sandwich and raved about it. My husband had a burger that was well, just a burger. It was good, but nothing to write home about. However, he loved the sweet potato fries! I would have loved to have gone back for breakfast one day but we didn't have time.

Simply Phenomenal!!. My gf and I are frequent visitors to Key West yet never found this local gem until this trip. What stopped us was their "All you can eat" crab legs. Who says no to that? We half expected it to be JUST crab legs, didn't expect great service or extras since we were getting the special but we were VERY surprised. Our server was young and perhaps at worst a tad inexperienced, but was so sweet and attended to our every little whim. It wasn't JUST crab legs either, it was fresh yummy veggies (still a little crisp...YUM) roasted potato, bread to DIE for. The owner came over frequently and checked on us too. The caprese salad we ordered was the BEST I've ever had.
The decor was fun and cute and eclectic. Very "Keysie". I highly recommend this place. The menu changes daily because its JUST that fresh. It will be a staple in our travels from now on.

Dirty Furnishings/Interior. The sausage gravy and biscuits were good.... scrambled eggs with cheddar was good....the hash was typical...sourdough bread was ok. Nothing spectacular. The interior was very dirty. Upon entering, the odor was obvious...maybe the carpet (why does a restaurant have carpet?) As my husband pulled out my chair to seat me, there was "stuff" all over the velour chair covering....with it having settled into the fabric in the corners, the cracks, etc...not nice. The ceiling fan spinning above my head/my meal was covered in old grease/dust balls...very dirty....thank goodness my husband did not show me this until after I had eaten. We would have left without eating. The unkept state of the interior infers a lot about the overall care of the kitchen. We will not go back to Camille's.

The three dollars I spent for a side of bacon was probably the best three dollars I've ever spent. Everything was incredible. Our server Melody was awesome.

Based on previous reviews, we had looked forward to Sunday brunch. The service was slow, the food was cold and we were disappointed. Buttermilk pancakes was the best dish of the four different dishes ordered. Maybe, it was just an off day, but we won't return any time soon.

Egg's benedict was perfect !!! Great service and great place !!!

LoveCamilles. Wow! Weeee love Camille's. It is another one of our favorite places in Key West. I remember when they were on Duval Street and the people queued up for breakfast. BTW they specialize in breakfast, yes lunch is great, but the breakfast....to die for. GO...EAT...ENJOY!
Urban Autumn
Eggs cooked perfectly, potatoes a little heavy on parsley but notnot much else. Good service, large restaurant, odd. Had the Twice as Nice and Corned Beef Hash, all was good.
Shelly
Nice place but really loud. Had to shout to be heard. Had eggs Benedict and it was great.
Dr.evans
Great place for breakfast. Get ready for enormous portions. We had French toast w/pecans, corn cakes w/bananas and killer omelettes. Good service .

Service was great. The food was priced well and tasted great. We had egg sandwiches and they were fantastic!

Love it!. I just can't say enough about this place, the food is just amazing! We stayed in Key west for a week and ate there everyday. We tried something different everyday from there special menu and loved everything we tried! The service was outstanding! We can't wait to come back next year!

Only go for Breakfast. First of all, I would recommend only going here for breakfast, which is served from 8am-3pm daily. Their breakfast is absolutely amazing and is the only reason I go there. Any other time, there are tons more places to go for lunch and dinner.

Okay, with that out of the way, I ate at Camille's yesterday and got a table right away (the place is huge so this is no surprise) and had excellent service. The fresh-squeezed OJ is quite expensive ($3.50 for a large) but it is damn good. The prices here are a little on the expensive side, but if you want, you can go around 10-11am and not have to spend even more money on lunch if you're looking to save a few bucks.

I ordered the Camille's Egg Sandwich with a fried egg and sausage on Cuban bread. The sandwich was amazing and was just the right amount of food because I didn't want to feel like I was hit by a truck after leaving. I ordered the sandwich with fresh tomatoes on the side and they were excellent as they were nice vine-ripened tomatoes. Just added a little salt and pepper and they were perfect. My girlfriend ordered the French Toast that came with strawberries and Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur sauce and that was excellent as well. The only problem were the strawberries. They were (for the most part) bad and should not have been served on the plate. After discarding those to the side, the french toast and the chocolate sauce went very well together. We will definitely keep coming back to Camille's for breakfast in the future.

Great breakfast. While on vacation in Key West, my wife and friends decided to check this place out for brunch one morning. We all ordered something different to try as much as we could, there was a selection of benedicts, french toast and classic eggs and bacon. All the dishes were fantastic. The benedics were amazing as was the godiva white chocolate french toast. To top it off, the service is great and the price is right. Would like to go back to try their lunches one day.

Busy breakfast place on a Sunday. Big portion on bacon/Brie omelet and veggie Benedict was delicious. Key lime pie was good but probably not best in world despite what zagat said
Swell Rider
Pretty basic fare, for what you pay. But it is KW, so whatever. Decent service, ok ambiance (other then the oldies played a bit too loud), food is average. Skip it.
Rob
Absolutely fantastic!! Food was awesome and service was above and beyond. If they have it, try the fresh snapper.

Excellent experience at breakfast. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered from daily menu. Meal arrived in a timely fashion. Waffles with mango sauce were outstanding. Omlette special (crab, asparagaus, tomatos) was quite the serving. Two egg special was fair. We all enjoyed our meals and it was reasonable cost wise.

This place was great, get the lobster ravioli AMAZING :)

Overrated greasy Americana. Good service though.

I love Camilla's for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Camille's is a cute place with good food. It is one of our family's favorite places to go when we're in Key West. The walls are decorated with a lot of fun knick knacks and posters. We have always had good service there.

Everybody should come here! Kooky Barbie Dolls & mixed matched coffee mugs- very delicious bloody marys. Our server was very attentive & gave us his overview of his favorites on the menu- all of which, we ordered & all was indescribably delicious!!! Key lime pie had a surprize taste of cinnamon in the homemade crust!! Well played, Camille! See pics for my dishes- so good!
Joe Mama
Eggs Benedict was good, but the French Toast w/Godiva white chocolate was outstanding. Service was fast & friendly. Atmosphere is a little dated & tacky, but hey, it's KW
Steve
Camille's Terrible Service. Worst service in Key West. I've been in Key West for 5years, I tried Camille's twice (shame on me). The grey haired woman with Star tattoos and a butch haircut is the rudest service person I've met. Even ou server apologized.

We went there for breakfast, it was about half full when every other place in Key West had a wait on July 4th weekend. We asked our server if we could change tables out of the 6 around us that were empty and the server OKd the move. The gray haired lady keptvstarring and eventually come over and said she had a system and didn't appreciated chaining tables, so needless to say we voted on the restaurant right then and there. We Left. Now they have two less customers at. Camille's Key West.

My first visit to Camille's was worst. Overpriced and under delivered. Cammill's is by far the worst restaurant in Key West.

Steve Utley

Randall. Great breakfast

Good for lunch but even better for breakfast!

Best place for breakfast on the "Rock". Food is fresh, innovative, and very good.

Excellent breakfast - I had the special French toast which was swimming in pecan bourbon maple syrup. It was fantastic. The blueberry pecan hotcakes were also delicious. We may eat here every day for the rest of our trip.

I'll come back & try breakfast. We were recommended this by a freind and while it was ok.... the service was pretty lousy. They had some sort of wedding party going on that made it impossible to get anything from the bar according to our waitress who while very plesant was WAY behind at every turn... They had a house special martini that I wanted to try but they didn't have the special olives... the food tasted good but under the theory that you "eat first with your eyes" really lost points. My husband & I discussed how they could have really improved on presenting some pretty tasty food. BUT if you are into quantity you'll be happy. They served me like a school of fish on my plate. LOL. Anyhow, I think I expected fine dining and it wasn't. It was good food served slowly and sloppily. I think if I was in that area again I'd stop in for breakfast...
Keylifepie
A must for key west. Go early for breakfast before they run out of their fantastic crab cake bendict
DGrubs
We ordered the Godiva french toast ($8.99) and the egg and sausage sandwich ($7.79). The french toast is unreal. You just want to lick your plate it’s that good...
