My husband and I went in there yesterday for lunch. There are not enough words to describe how incredible it was. We sat in a wonderful corner by the window and our waiter was Max. His customer service was exceptional and his wine recommendation for the foods we ordered was impeccable. Every tapas brought to us was cooked to perfection with favors that tantalized your pallet. Each course was appropriately spaced; I never had to ask for water once (which is a pet peeve for me) Max came to the table periodically to check on us. Toward the end of our meal, he recommended a desert ( which I never would have chosen on my own) that topped off our meal perfectly. I would have to say that I have not had a dinning experience on this level in a long time and would highly recommend this restaurant as a must for your Key West Experience.
Great place! We sat outside which I was happy about. Some large very noisy groups inside.
The food was delicious! We ordered way to much, 5 plates was more than enough for 2 people.
Highly recommend this spot.
Wonderful experience this evening enjoying the tapas and of course happy hour. My wife really enjoyed the sparkling sangria and I traveled around the world with their impressive beer menu. For dessert we enjoyed the magnificent bread pudding with rum sauce. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended. We will definitely be coming back.
Happy hour specials 3-6 is a $5 menu & 1/2 price beer and wine. Good food quick service. If you don't want to sit at bar make a reservation even at 4 pm.
We were there nearly a year ago and loved this amazing restaraunt. Nice to see they are still getting amazing reviews a year later!
I would highly recommend lunch or dinner there!
I seldom hand out 5.0 ratings, but Santago's Bodega earned top ratings in our book, following a fantastic dinner our group of 7 experienced one weeknight in December.
I love tapas, but the prices typically add up quickly. The nice thing about Santiago's is that several of the menu items could easily be shared by up to three people. The salads, in particular, are essentially presented "family style". Ours allowed 3 people to have generous portions. The carpaccio was also well presented, and filled a 12 inch plate.
Three dishes per person will satisfy most appetites, and prices per item average about $10. That's not bad for tapas.
Best of all, the food is uniformly delicious. We enjoyed a curry chicken dish, which was one of several chef specials offered the night of our visit. It wasn't overly spicy, but was well prepared and full of flavor. We also sampled, and loved the meatballs and pasta as well as the spanakopita. The latter dish was so good we almost ordered a second round.
The restaurant is smallish, which is typical for Key West. It is located in the heart of Bahama Village. This is basically a come-as-you-are place, but it is not unusual to see diners dress up a bit. Seating is offered both indoors and outdoors.
Service was professional, attentive and helpful. The wait staff really knows their stuff here.
We enjoyed many great meals while in KW. But Santiago's has rocketed to the top of our "must eat" list for dinner.
Had a party of 8 for dinner. Reserved it on open table. We ordered a pitcher of sangria. Had a large variety of cold and warm tapas. Each one was better than the rest. I would highly recommend. Best meal we had in key west.
Yay! Key West Pride 2015! Santiago's Bodega is a really laid-back cafe slightly off the tourist trail. Expect a crowd most any day, especially on weekends. Yeah, reservations are suggested for peak times. We snuck in when they were not busy. ;-)
People who have followed my reviews over the years know that I am a fan of "chicken-on-a-stick." The Chicken Skewers here are very good. They come with a lemon tarragon sauce, which was quite tangy and tasty. I sampled the Roman Meatballs from a friend's plate, and they were good, as well.
Absolutely amazing food! Off the beaten path but worth the walk. The beef tenderloin melts in your mouth. Had 4 plates, all delicious.

Pleasantly Surprised!. I had been wanting to try this place for a few days but none of my friend trusted it due to the location. It is in a not so pretty spot, but that is just one of the things that makes this place wonderful. this place was so great I had to write my first review ever. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is so friendly. The host, who appeared to be the owner or manager, said bye to every single person that walked out of the restaurant, even those sitting outside. Our server Allen was very nice and attentive. We ordered sangria, bruchetta, shrimp and chorizo, and croquetas. The Sangria is not your typical sweet red wine with some fruit, It was not very sweet but the fresh fruit definitely made up for it. The bruchettas were fresh tomatoes, basil pesto on a crunchy baguette slice, very fresh taste. Shrimp and chorizo, need I say more? The croquetas were not the usual cylindrical ones, they looked more like a patty but were not any less delicious, and even little spicy. The price was great as well, definitely better than anything you could find on Duval street. I would certainly recommend!
Definitely go here! Our se.... Definitely go here!
Our server Allen was fantastic, good was delicious. Service was seem less in a very relaxed atmosphere. We did three courses of small plates and each time our table was cleaned/reset/fresh plates & silver. Attention to detail is important.
Great Place. I love this quaint little place. Food is awesome. I love being able to get a lot of different dishes. I love the décor. I had my b-day party there during season and there were about 8-10 of us. The service was amazing. It's off Duval and also has a "locals" during the off season. Do make a reservation.
This is a decent choice for lighter fare, as it is basically a soup/salad/tapas menu. They have a pretty good Happy Hour as well. Dine inside or outside with the roaming chickens. We were not especially impressed by 4 of the 5 items we ordered. The creamy gazpacho was quite good, however, if a bit over the top with capers.
Best tapas I’ve had outside of Spain! Every dish is beautifully created with intense flavor, fresh ingredients, and inviting presentation!
We made reservations online for two by a window at 7:30 PM. We arrived at 7:00 PM and were seated immediately, by a window, as requested.
Our server " Arene" took our order and the meal was bought to us, one by one. We began with a cup of the spicy shrimp bisque soup (very spicy, but good), then the tuna ceviche (extremely lemony), tomato and basil bruschetta (really good!,) Beef Short ribs (very good), special of the day ( fried yellow tail with rice pilaf)... Delish, brussel sprouts ( ate one piece and hated it, but Arene was nice enough to remove from our check), croissant bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream (it's a must!).
This was the first time that we had eaten at
Santiago's Bodega, even though we enjoyed most of all our selections, with the exception of one, it's not a restaurant that I will be writing home about. We found the menu to be very simple with just a few selections. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, but were confused with the fact that we kept on getting our neighbors food. The only good thing about that error, was that we got to meet a couple from West Palm Beach, who sat next to us, and had us in stitches, of how funny they were. They were there celebrating Stevens birthday.
I was a little disappointed that no one gave him a free desert or even sang happy birthday to him ( this would have been such a nice and memorable gesture! If you plan on visiting Santiago's Bodega for a birthday celebration, you might want to reconsider.
All in all, Santiago's Bodega was a cozy restaurant, with simple food selection and not so bad if you just want to hang out and have some tapas. Then this is a cool hang out, but not a fancy place to go to for a full course meal
Tenderloin, cheese plate, meatballs and half price wine at happy hour were all great. We didn't like the bland, fatty, mushy ribs that others strangely brag about. Inside decor is dark and poorly decorated. Restroom is a hot box.
Diverse and done very, very well.
The Roman meatballs would make most Italian restaurants blush. The short ribs would make many Asians reconsider their life choices. Salmon carpaccio might be the star of the whole show. And the rest? Too good to go on.
Really, a diverse tapas menu that’s executed so well. The switch gears like an F1 car - fast and with precision.

If you're in Key West, you must make a stop in Santiago's. I love tapas! We ordered almost every hot tapas. Everything was delicious. Just go, you'll be pleased. Order the short ribs!! Prices are fair, staff is friendly and dress is nice casual. I suggest reservations as it's a very popular place.
Lovely place, went in with no expectations for tapas in keywest. The ambiance is nice, our server Juan was GREAT! The food was good for the most part. Many good vegetarian options. Our favorite we’re the Burrata with bread service, churrasco, short rib. The mushroom puff pastry was good lacked a lil flavor. The tuna ceviche was off, maybe the peice a were too think and didn’t take the lime juice well, papas bravas are not the move, the flavors didn’t mesh
Five stars all the way. Every bite was exceptional. We ate around 6pm. We had reservations so it went fast. The drink selection was good however it is limited to beer and wine. The food may be the best I’ve had in the Keys. I will be back and I’ll dream about it until I return. Don’t miss this opportunity
Amazing and delicious! We did tapas to experience a little of most plates. Simply delightful. It was an extremely hot and humid day in Key West, so being able to sit inside (AC) as a walk in made our experience even better. Service on point and knowledgeable. Music and ambiance give New Orleans vibes.

One of my more memorable dining experiences. Every single thing we had was top shelf. The shrimp bisque was the show stealer. The depth of flavor in that bowl is endless. The short ribs had like this sweet hoisin glaze that had just the right amount of heat. The potatoes Bravas were great, had a hot sauce kind of taste to them.. hard to describe but really killer. The beef carpaccio was excellent and the ender, the saganaki was fire (no literally they lit it on fire). Best meal of my trip down to Key West.
