A marvelous little breakfast or lunch cafe until 2pm. Food is all fresh, locally sourced, made from scratch, and it tastes like it. Definitely give this place a try. They won't disappoint. Service was top-notch. Thank you, Mica.

The food at Little Brown Hen Cafe was wonderful, but that’s not why I’m leaving my review. Today my fiancé and I decided to stop in here while on our way to see the Redwoods. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile and sat at a very clean booth. The place was packed but our waiter never skipped a beat. He was so busy but remained kind and helpful. When the food came out, it was fulfilling and exactly what we were looking for; traditional diner breakfast. I got the breakfast burrito and my fiancé got the two egg breakfast. Both were great!

Came here for brunch on a Thursday about 11:30 AM. The restaurant was short staffed, so we had to wait a long time for our food. Everything tasted great. Wait staff was friendly. They only accept cash.

Great food! The country fried steak and eggs were delightful. Topped with a bacon bloody Mary, made the perfect breakfast. Beignets, mimosa and the Best Coffee Ever, that's actually a drink and you need to try it, awesome!! Short wait to get in, because it is the best. Cash or check, ATM available. Got to check this out.

The food was delicious, would have given five stars but my husband had the crab Benedict and he had a few pieces of crab shell with his crab .

So amazing! My wife and I are on our honeymoon and we got to meet the owner, Mike! Really great guy. He gave us homemade beignets on the house for our honeymoon 🥰 they were so insanely tasty and it was such a sweet gesture. Definitely can recommend this place to anyone. Really great food selection and they even have
some cool specialty items with homemade bread, homemade biscuits, elk steak and many other amazing choices🙏🏻

Wait Staff is very friendly and accommodating as best they can to suggest and customize orders for food sensitivity. They keep your coffee topped off hot. Breakfast available all day at this time. Ingredients taste fresh. Meals look and taste great. I'd recommend.

Go where the locals go is my technique for finding the best eats and that premise certainly paid out at The Little Brown Hen Cafe!
From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by a friendly, prompt greeting and we're seated right away! Within a quick minute we were sipping their locally roasted coffee and a truly yummy Bloody Mary with a candied bacon rose for garnish!
Breakfast was wonderful! Homemade and hand crafted, excellent gravy and custom meats from Childers Custom Wholesale Meats in Eugene.
The chicken fried steak was light and crisp, perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. My poached eggs were some of the best I've had.
The bacon was thick, crisp and smokey and the sausage patty was well seasoned without being too salty or spicy.
The ambience of this little Cafe is fun, welcoming and comfortable!
The Little Brown Hen is cash only but they do have an ATM available if you need it.
I would very highly recommend this Cafe for breakfast or lunch (they close at 2pm) and you can bet that we will be back!

Little Brown Hen Café is a quaint spot that serves up freshly brewed coffees and the most amazing breakfasts! Their eggs are always perfectly cooked. They really pay attention to detail with small touches like candied bacon topped over whipped cream on our fried chicken and waffles. The staff is always pleasant. The whole space gives you a feeling of home and comfort. I have returned many times over the years.

What a gem! I was visiting from out of town for Rhody Days and this divine breakfast spot was suggested by a friend and local resident. I was expecting a run of the mill diner menu... boy, was a pleasantly and unexpectedly wrong!! I didn't think I would find such an variety of fares!! I was surprised to find the traditional East Coast dish on the menu... Shrimp and Grits!? Yes, and it was done right!! So savory... So full of flavor. And the portion size was more then enough!! The owner offered a surprise offering of beignets! Four for $8. Now, ive been to New Orleans more then a few times, and i've dined at the world famous Cafe Du Monde... When i promise you the beignets at The Brown Hen are far superior then those of their native land!! They are for real a whole experience!! A fluffy, chewy texture, topped with a mountain of powdered sugar. I am a forever fan after just my first visit and i cant wait to introduce my whole family to this Florence gem!

We loved this little place. My omelet was one of the best I've ever had, and hash browns were great. My husband loved his pancakes, as well. It was bustling when we got there and we had to wait, but will not mark them down for service as the wait staff were hustling their hearts out and as attentive as they could be. We liked the touches of local themed art and positive sayings. A charming little spot. Can be a bit noisy during the breakfast rush.
Victor Gorospe
A local spot for breakfast. I would give it four stars. Road traffic noise is very loud. This is not the fault of the restaurant. This establishment is only open until 2 o’clock.

Yummy food for all ages. But beware of huge size of pancakes! Good coffee. Good hash browns. Fresh ingredients.

There's nothing better than fresh homemade food, served by a happy welcoming person, in a warm and inviting place.
Honestly, this little gem has some of the consistently best food in town. My only complaint? The chairs aren't that comfortable for a rounder figure. Lol. Luckily they have booths as well.
I've eaten quite a few different items and other than little tweaks for my personal taste, the food is always great.
They don't take credit cards but there is an ATM available.

Cutest little restaurant with an amazing staff!! We had 7 in our group and had to be split into two tables but the staff was extremely accommodating. The food was delicious! The donut holes and beignets were heavenly. Eating with 5 little girls can taxing trying to find something they will all like but each of them devoured their plates. Highly recommended!

Amazing brunch stop with a great breakfast and lunch menu and outstanding coffee. My wife had an omelette that was STUFFED with meat and veggies and I had the house made corn beef hash. Lots of other choices on the menu to satisfy almost anyone.
Be prepared to wait, and exercise some patience, as this is a local business with limited seating. However the wait staff is attentive and friendly so leave a good tip!
Note that they are strictly Cash or Check (no cards), however there is an ATM on sight.

I usually don't suggest a dish. But, I cleaned the plate! Best chicken and waffles!
On the table you have a hot sauce (the pepper plant), you have strawberry and Marion berry jelly sauce.
So, I did pour maple syrup, some butter, Marion berry sauce and asked for a little side of their homemade caramel sauce to top my waffle. MAN!! That tasted like heaven. All that combined with the delicious chicken....... Oh gosh.
Plus the service is wonderful and the place it self is so cozy.
Cash and check only. There is an ATM also.
Don't skip this place if you are around.

AMAZING! Amazing atmosphere, amazing service, amazing food, amazing portion sizes, amazing coffee, amazing prices. Seriously. I was on a mini road trip along the Oregon Coast with my son, nieces and sister. We spent the night at a campsite and it was pouring hard. I think some branches fell into my roof a few times so it was a little rough. We randomly picked this cafe because it was close by, already open and had good reviews. Best decision ever. The waitress (possibly owner? I'm not sure but she was so nice to us and treated us like she cared about our satisfaction) was cheerful, helpful, polite. Such a warm welcome. The menu had lots of delicious options. The coffee was so good. I live near Seattle and we love coffee. I don't often take pictures of my food, but I even changed my profile picture on FB to brag about how awesome my life was in that very moment. I have a feeling this cafe is already well known to residents but if you're driving through like we were, you must know how great this place is!

Food was fine as well as the service. This place gets very crowded, so come early.

Loved this place. I had eggs henedict with fresh crab, which were amazing, as was the crab omelette I kept munching off my hubby's plate! After asking what chirps are we were treated to a sample, which were comforting yumminess. Our dog Eric was welcome on the patio outside and was provided with fresh water and lots of attention! Great, friendly service.
Cosette LaChapelle Rees
Really good food. The best. Even provided yummy menu options for gluten free and dairy free needs. We will definitely be going back!!
Tammy Watkins
The food is to die for and our server was amazing. Well worth the wait!
Hillary Hogan
They don't seem the be able to handle the volume of businesses they are doing. The food was good but the service was rushed and by the time the mistake on my food was handled, everyone I was with was almost done with their food. The waitress was extremely nice but also very rushed.
Doreen Mischel
Service was slow. We waited an hour. And 1year olds don't like waiting lol. My husband had a crab omlet which was canned crab mind you. I wanted a simple ham and cheese omlet, but it was smothered in warm cream cheese inside, icky.
All in all, it's over priced (way over priced) and bottom line food. School cafeteria food is better.
Christina Trotter
Ok I'm giving a 4 star review.
The staff was friendly, and The service was great. The one bathroom working was far from clean.
My mom had the turkey cranberry sandwich, she thought it was great (I thought it looked great).
I had the crab melt. It was more like a cheese panini with a slice of bacon and a very slight hint of crab. I was very disappointed. If it had more fresh crab so you could actually taste it it would have been perfect and they would get 5 stars.

My husband and I had a weekend away in Florence. We stopped by the Little Brown Hen for breakfast and were blown away! The biscuits we had were nice and fluffy, the homemade strawberry jam was amazing, and the coffee was delicious- I normally drink my coffee sweet, and I didn't even have to add sugar to theirs, just drank it black. This will definitely be our go to when we are in Florence, and we will recommend it to all our friends.
Kevin English
You can really tell it is made from scratch. Had the corn beef hash and was the best. Service was good keep my coffee full. Wish a place like this could be in every town
Michelle Witte
The food is extremely yummy. The server's work super hard to make sure that you are comfortable and well taken care of. I was really impressed. We came in during the Rhody days festival....It was a crazy morning, this place was hopping. It was clean, comfy, and the best food.
Jennifer Rasor
Love this little cafe. Food is great, huge biscuits, variety of choices including oysters and elk. They also serve drinks such as the bacon Bloody Mary. Mmm good!

For our last meal in Florence, moving out of town, we decided we needed to make it count. Naturally, we chose The Little Brown Hen Cafe. This place puts the "Home" in Home Cooking. As always, we were impressed by how busy they were, and how happy the staff was. We were greeted personally by the host, the server Kelly, and both owners. All of whom know us and asked us about the move, congratulating us. I got the Danish Blue Cheese Bacon Burger with chirps, and my daughter got a huge pancake. We ate every bite!! It's a shame there's only one but that's what make it so special. If you're looking for a delicious, thoughtful, unique breakfast or lunch go to The Brown Hen. Their specials are always on point, too. We know where we're going on future visits. Thank you Stacey and Mike!! Catch ya on the flip side!

Sunday morning between 10-10:30 and they had a line waiting for seats! Not a big place. Looks clean inside. Sat outside and shared a table with another gentleman from Denver who was also by himself. Food was very good. They don't take cards, cash, or check only. They do have an ATM inside.
Penny Ward
Have been there for breakfast several times and it's always been great! Went there this week for lunch and I wasn't disappointed. This is one terrific place to go!!!! Yummy!!!!
Karen Murphy
Best biscuits & gravy I've ever had! Husband loved the Denver Omelette & Pancakes too! The thick cut hashbrowns were nice and crisp and the place is cozy with friendly service.
Sherri Arnold
We waited about 10 minutes for a table. The place was clean and full of hungry guests. The menu has a nice variety for all tastes. The portions are generous. Seems to be from scratch which is what we like. The service was very friendly. There is an atm for convenience (which we didn't know so we walked to the bank across the street.) We will definitely visit again. We enjoyed the food very much. Thank you for serving good food from scratch.
Jenny Torres
I really wanted to like this place. I had the eggs “henedict” with spinach. While one egg was under cooked with runny whites the other was over with no soft yolk. The English muffin was soggy and the hollandaise mediocre. I can do better than that at home. I encouraged my daughter to order the Belgian waffle. It was from a box. :-(
My husband and son enjoyed their omelets so if you do go, get one of those.
Hoping we can find a good place for breakfast in Florence. This one wasn’t a winner.
Shaay Colleen Starr
Hash browns are excellent! I just got the basic eggs/links/browns/toast. A little spendy at $12, but well done. Service was fine. And the hash browns really are a stand out - tender inside, crunchy edges, well seasoned.
Westie
We arrived on a Thursday in August at around 10AM and managed to find an empty table. We then sat and waited, completely ignored by the staff. I checked other tables and realized 1/2 of the tables were sitting and waiting for either menus like us or the food. With a full day planned of activities, we decided not to invest an hour or more for breakfast so we headed off to another cafe.
Alice
Little Brown Hen is a classic small town cafe that serves tasty breakfast and lunch options. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She kept our ice tea flowing. Our sandwich options and clam chowder were tasty, especially the Club Sandwich.
Alonso Vasquez
Really nice little place, great service and good food. Had the staple # 1 and #2, good food and quick as well. Definitely would recommend.
Timothy Caine
Had a late breakfast and everything was great. Homemade jam was yummy. Eggs, bacon, hash browns. Great American breakfast. Service was good.
Jim Hiatt
Upon arrival hostess/waitress was using her smart phone for other than helping customers,it appeared, while we waited. The food ordered was delivered promptly but less than quality. The food was greasy, order mixed up and a glass with juice had a large crack in it. The waitress did not offer to make it right. We have been to this restaurant a few times in the past few years and been very satisfied. We live in Lane County but will NOT be returning. We would not recommend this restaurant.
Kathryn
Our party waited just inside the door for almost 10 minutes before being seated. In that time not one person acknowledged that we were waiting. In fact the owner passed us several times. We were finally seated by a very nice (frantic) teenager, but were given no menus. After about 10 more minutes with no menus, no water, and no introduction by a member of the waitstaff we walked out. Can't say that a single one of us will be back.
Peterman1973
Would go there again.. Loved the decor and atmosphere, quick service, great blueberry pancakes.
Jopster
Excellent biscuits and gravy, fair price, slightly burnt pancakes, The coffee was just so-so
Toon Kham Marquez
Worth the wait? Too long of a wait, at least for 10 minutes, for the servers/waitress to acknowledge us until another customer (Caucasian to say the least-sorry this isn't a welcoming place for Non-Caucasians) were waiting also. Food review is great for homemade biscuits and hash browns!

Tried this place after we found out Bliss Diner is no longer in business. The blue cheese burger was barely edible. The meat was charred, beyond cooked, on the edges, and the blue cheese, did not taste like any I've had before, terrible. Other than that, the chirps were good and service friendly.
Jan
My husband and I had breakfast here and we were very pleasantly surprised by the ambience, and how good the food and service was. He had the French Toast (delicious) and I had a half biscuit with scrambled eggs and bacon ( superb) - we will go again!
Vanessa
I L-O-V-E THEIR WAFFLES!. Okay, so I'm not usually a waffle fan because they usually show up and are cold and hard. Not at Little Brown Hen! Not only are the waffles warm, but so ifs the syrup (hot!). Just had them last Sunday and I will always get them from now on. And they are made with malted batter! mmmmmm. Great job Stacy and crew!
Cya1978
Little Brown Hen. 1st time I was there and I won't be back. Very disappointed with everything
GaryJones
Best chicken-fried steak ever
David
Great food for a fair price. I stop at Little Brown Hen for breakfast any time I spend a weekend in Florence.
