The service was excellent and the dinner was incredible! The Brie plate and the foie gras was amazing, and the lobster entree was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time. My boyfriend had the venison and said it was amazing! They only thing we wouldn’t recommend is the duck fat fritters, they were just OK (it was more of a glorified hush puppy). Other than that, this place is amazing for a date night, or just to spoil yourself. 10/10 would recommend!

Date night! I probably screwed up by making dinner reservations when we just wanted cocktails and appetizers. Not sure how the bar seating works. It was full when we arrived. Wait staff was super attentive, food and drinks were great. I really enjoyed the “Down the Hatch” cocktail. Spice was so subtle it was very refreshing. Try it if you are in town!

Finally had the pleasure of dining here—after leaving Flagstaff over a decade ago, we found ourselves back in town looking for a romantic dinner spot. We remembered Tinderbox, and I'm super glad we chose this place. The cocktails were on point, even if the menu is a bit daunting (thankfully, the waitstaff are great translators). We ordered a couple shared plates that were yummy, but the star of the evening was the half crispy duck. Every bite was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and presented beautifully. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for fine dining in Flagstaff.

the food presentation was better than the taste- the filet mignon was a bit salty. trout was moist n well done but nothing stood out. Duck breast ok IMHO dry and flavor was ... wasn't the $300+ at all... should have celebrated back in town at Oceans or somthing and we waited more than an hour for the food. the appetizers were meh... I'm not sure why it is so highly rated. also the meat quality not very good on the filet m...

Had an amazing dining experience here. My wife and I came in for our anniversary dinner and tried several things on the menu. Everything was perfect! The drinks were amazing and the food is some of the best you can find in Flagstaff. Definitely recommend the pork belly appetizers! FYI, you need to make reservations to get in.

We love to go here for special events. The food is exceptionally great and the service has always been attentive to detail. My favorite dish was the crispy duck, which was perfectly cooked, juicy and crisp, paired with inventive sides that enhanced the beauty of the presentation. Every time we go there are new items to try and I've never been disappointed. Great place, and we look forward to more great times there.

We've been going to Tinderbox for years, ensuring we visit every time we make it to Flagstaff, but this was our first visit since they made changes during covid(new chef, menu, alcohol). Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as good as our previous experiences. Based on the sommelier s advice we went with a Bordeaux wine and duck fat fritters. The wine was great but the fritters were bland and there wasn't even enough sauce on the plate for the 3 of them to give them any flavor. For the main course, we went with the pan seared duck breast. The duck was flavorful and mushrooms really added something,but unfortunately wasn't enough to cover the dry overcooked duck. Our overall experience was soured as for some reason our food was delayed on both our appetizer and main course we ordered at the same time. Another table of 4 that was seated over 30 minutes after us received their food at the same time. In addition, even though the server even mentioned it was odd our food was taking so long, that table of 4 received complementary food from the chef. Regardless of the training, it didn't make us feel great dropping $200 for the meal. While the service was good and staff was friendly, we don't think this a must visit, but maybe we'll give it another shot sometime.
