Review Mermaids Restaurant - Fayetteville

We have visited this restaurant two times, each time was for a special occasion (wedding rehearsal dinners). They really decorated their special room very well. It was beautiful with all the little white lights and they treated us wonderfully with their attentive service. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed their shrimp pasta and the sautéed chicken dish, but everything was delicious. They treated us to a variety of desserts. I thoroughly enjoyed the dense carrot cake. It was a little different from the traditional, but I'd love to have the recipe. My wife opted for the chocolate cake and enjoyed it.

My husband and I had such a wonderful dinner here. It was so good! Wonderful service also! Definitely will be back

The food and drinks were well prepared, perfect temperature and delicious, but a bit overpriced. The atmosphere was pleasant. The staff were unprofessional compared to other formal restaurants we’ve visited. I highly recommend the blackened mahi-mahi and Cajun pasta.

Absolutely delicious. Calamari and spinach dip for appetizers. Chicken with artichokes and capers, plus a chocolate cake and a delightful cheesecake. The meal and service were absolutely amazing! Affordably priced for the quality and atmosphere. A definite win!

I went and had lunch there with a group of my friends, earlier this week and the food was decent… What made all of our experience the best was our phenomenal server, Jefferson. His service was just spectacular! He was very polite, he answered all of our questions and was always attentive. He also had a great personality! I plan on coming back on Valentine’s and requesting him and recommending everyone I know to come and see him there. He made the best fine dining experience I’ve ever had.

I loved this place! The food is delicious, the atmosphere and customer service is great, wonderful patio seating and they have gluten free options! Pictures is the spinach dip and Norwegian salmon.

We love Mermaids! It's been a whole since we've dined in, but we've managed to do a small amount of take out. The food is better than ever! Exceptional! The front of house staff could stand to drink a Red Bull. They were kind and helpful, but I didn't like the lack of enthusiasm I experienced.

Arrived timely for our reservation - small group. Took over 20 minutes for a waitress to appear. Very friendly. An hour in we finally got our salads. An hour and 45 minutes in finally got our food. Two orders of NY Strip - worst cooked plain steak I've ever had that wasn't on a buffet. Same with the other order. Others in our small party ordered fish plates - both were burned and cold. We're used to everything from hole in the wall to finer dining - for the ambiance and setting we were expecting a lot better. For the price - a substantially better meal. All around we will never go back - would not recommend.

Let me start off by saying that I am usually very easy going when my wife and I go out for dinner. I’m not really nit picky about food or atmosphere, I don’t gripe too much over pricing, and as long as the service is decent, I’m usually content. My wife and I tried Mermaids for the first time, having heard excellent things about it. We usually steer clear of chain restaurants and opt for local spots anyways. Our waiter Jeff and the rest of the staff were very friendly and courteous, but I was not impressed with the food whatsoever. We got the “trio” appetizer for $12, which consisted of 3 boiled shrimp, 1 mozzarella stick, and 1 crab cake; definitely not worth $12 and certainly nothing special here. I ordered the coconut shrimp with rice for my entree, and received 8 shrimp that honestly tasted like they came out of a Seapak frozen TV dinner and a huge mound of Uncle Ben’s white rice; plain Jane white rice with no butter or seasoning for $16. Needless to say, when you wish you’d gone to Red Lobster instead, it’s a pretty disappointing experience. I’ll stick with Powerhouse as my “go to” seafood spot in NW Arkansas, can’t go wrong with that one!

I was visiting from out of town and had dinner at the bar. The food was delicious and the wine recommendation was on point! The ambiance was great and I’d highly recommend this place!

First off, we arrived about 30 minutes before closing (I know I know but our painting date had gone longer than expected) and the staff were absolute dolls. They greeted us with smiles and we're very warm the whole time. We ordered the spinach dip and crab cake appetizers (two dishes I normally don't care for at all) and we loved them! So delicious! They also brought bread with olive oil and water of course. I also ordered the mermaid cocktail and coconut shrimp with rice. Again, mouth wateringly amazing. There honestly isn't anything negative I can say. Our food was even brought to us very quickly. We ended up leaving only 5 minutes after closing time and they never even asked us to leave or rush us to finish eating. Will definitely recommend this place and will be back the next date night!

I have been wanting to go to mermaids for years, I decided my wifes birthday was the perfect time to try it out. We came in and the place was beautiful, which made us even more excited to try the food. We ordered two appetizers to start. The mushrooms and the spinach dip, both were good. I ordered a coke to drink and it was flat so I asked for another and it came to the table flat too so I asked for a beer instead of trying for another soda. I ordered the Steak and lobster for dinner, what came to the table was not what I would call a steak it was like steak you get at a mexican resturaunt, it was very thin and there was so much soy sauce covering it I couldn't taste anything but the sauce. The lobster was breaded and bland and the noodles were not cooked all the way so they had a rubbery texture to them. After trying two bites of the steak I gave up trying to eat it. The server asked if I wanted a box and I said no. She said did you not like it, I said no and she went to the manager and he knocked half the price off of the entree. Im I pretty much paid 72 dollars for appetizers. They asked if I wanted something else but I decided I did not want to wait another 30 min for food.

Excellent and diverse cocktail menu. I've eaten here many years and never had food that wasn't great (and different from your run of the mill offerings). Relaxed atmosphere; good place to take guests from out of town.

Went to mermaids on a double date with our best friends for both of our wedding anniversaries. We all ordered different appetizers and different entrees and we all loved the food we ordered! So delicious and good portions too! Our server was amazing...helpful, funny, and checking on us the perfect amount. Really enjoyable celebration with great friends, and great foods/drinks.

The staff is always amazing, the food tastes great and the dining room is tasteful and welcoming. Love it.

OK... You should only be able to run your commercials during business hours... I'm wanting you in my belly right now. You can go to McDonald's for lunch, and spend $9.00 for a value meal....OR.... Go to Mermaid's and get a gourmet hamburger and great fries for less. It does pale in comparison to one of my favorite waiters. Kitty, aka, Jeff. LOL... BTW, on the 2nd bottle of wine. #lovemesomemermaids

We love the variety of foods on the menu. There are actually some healthy options!! The presentation was beautiful and the food was the best we've had in the U.S. since moving back from Europe 3 years ago!!

Absolutely wonderful food! Absolutely wonderful atmosphere! Absolutely wonderful restaurant! And, our waiter, Jeff, was totally exceptional! If there was a 6th star for ratings, I would give it! Look forward to going back many times!

Amazing food, fast service Will be back next trip to Fayetville I have only tried lunch want to try it for dinner My husbands crawfish Po boy was huge and my shrimp and scallops were amazing. We are both salt sensitive and the food was perfect.

Food was subpar-so expensive and too many issues to name them all. I honestly will never go back. The only good thing was our server. But even as good as she was she couldn't make it a pleasant experience.

Food and waiter were excellent. The manager I assume he was the manager was very rude tho. They seated us at a table that had a reservation for an hour and 45 mins after we got there. The manager was upset we were seated there. We felt rushed thru our dinner as the manager watched us the whole time.
