Dairy Queen

So I had to call Dairy Queen on Camden across town , (18 mile round trip)( I live less then a mile from Cliffdale Dairy Queen # Negative 5 stars) I order Strawberry ice cream cake for my daughter's birthday. Lucas answered the phone sounded very positive with a happy Tone in his voice, I felt like I was getting my money's worth even before I saw The birthday cake, Which is beautiful and delicious. Thank you Dairy Queen on Camden .

First, let me start with the positives. The staff, even the teenagers, are always friendly & courteous. The ice cream is always delicious & the cakes are always made exactly as ordered. But the negative experience I had earlier this year will keep me from coming back to this location. For years I have ordered birthday cakes for my family from DQ. There are 5 of us, so that's a lot of business from one family each year on cakes alone. But the last time I came to pick up my order, I was told I had to come inside instead of using the drive thru window. The reason I was given was that too many people had driven off without paying. Well... it was pouring the rain, I had two kids in the car, & I wasn't feeling too well. Nothing contagious, but related to a disability - which made having to come inside even more irritating. If the cake hadn't have been for my daughter's birthday party, I wouldn't have come in to pick it up. Yes, a drive thru is a convenience... but as a business you shouldn't be telling customers they can't use it. I would have gladly paid for the cake at the window before someone handed it to me. Sounds like a much simpler solution than telling a customer to come inside, don't ya think?🤔

I pulled into Dairy Queen and asked for a grilled chicken sandwich. I was then told that the only food item they had available was the chicken bites. It was the worst chicken I have ever had 🤮! It was most certainly microwaved... The rubber texture gave that away. The only thing that saved a star here was the ice cream. It was on point as usual!
