Always enjoy meeting my friends at Merk's Place whether it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food is excellent. I especially like the breakfast pizza but then I have never been disappointed in any food I have been served there. The relaxed atmosphere and kind caring servers lends an extra reason for eating at Merk's. I highly recommend you try it for yourself.
I don't get to Farmville as often as I use to,but when I have the time Merks is my choice! Love there breakfast and there menu provides anything I am in the mood for. As a steak lover I would put their New York strip against any specialty steak house and only one I have found that knows what medium rare means. Service and food may take longer but if you want fast go get fast food. Besides of which the wait is worth it unlike other area restaurants that are not.
Great food, good prices! Even a Gluten Free menu! The GF pizza and quesadillas are super!! The occasional GF chocolate or layer cake displayed on the counter is an extra treat!! Everything is as good as home-made....because it is!!

The breakfast was great. Of course I had the Merks platter ... Which was delicious and more than I could eat . service was excellent. Their coffee was the best I've ever had other than home

Food is always good, husband says it's the best place for a hamburger steak and gravy. Also got a slice of walnut cake it was AWESOME

Today was our first day to eat at Merk's. The food was excellent. Our waitress Michelle was so nice and helpful. We will make this one of our regular places to eat. Being new to the Farmville area it was nice to find a local owned place with good food. Try it, you won't regret it.

Today was my first time eating at Merk’s Place in Farmville VA. All the wait staff are very friendly, and there are some humorous signs in this restaurant. I liked my salad, and it had loads of cheddar cheese. The menu has quite a large selection of meal choices, and I even splurged by getting a slice of delicious coconut cake!
Ordered the 1/2lb NC slaw burger and loved it. The waitress was great and atmosphere was even better.
Update; April 2022, ordered breakfast and it was wonderful. Enjoyed my meal and great customer service. Added pic.
We were in and out within 30 minutes, food is delicious, wait staff is super friendly and fast... Definitely a good place to stop and eat... Pick up a pie for the road.
Great "home style" cooking. HUGE menu with tons of options. I haven't ordered something I didn't like yet. Waitresses are friendly and attentive. The wait for food was a tad long, but so worth it!!

This is an old-fashioned (traditional) restaurant. There are American (hamburger) meals, Italian (pizza and calzone), and plates (meat and vegetables). Appetizers and salads are available. The food was good, as was the service. We finished with ice cream and milkshakes; cakes and pie were other options.
