Luna Fargo

Holy! First time ever at this place. The air and environment was pretty casual, but food implies fine dining and an intimate experience. Food was flavourful and delicious. The gnocchi melted in our mouth. I couldn't get the pop overs eaten fast enough. Service was great. Em and the counter guy were very attentive to us and very welcoming. I will 100% be going back. :3

An absolute delight! They have a good selection of wine and beers and delicious appetizers. The meal was fantastic, though they were out of some menu items we were looking forward to due to it being close to kitchen closing and how fresh they make their food. The dessert was the icing on top (literally). The sesame sorbet was surprisingly creamy and satisfying. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing. The food has few equivalents and service is great. Always a new menu and every dish I've had is delightful and unique. When you're done, browse the cheese table and get some fancy cheeses, cured meats, and farm fresh eggs. The atmosphere is hard to explain, but it's the perfect mesh of gourmet, farm to table, fancy casual, and local flair all in one package. I can't think of a better place for blow your mind food and a quiet social gathering. Their chef Ryan is a great guy, too.

Wow, what a great and unique restaurant in the heart of university in Fargo. It's one of those where it doesn't look like much on the outside but the inside is chiq and modern. They have a great little bar and you'd be doing your a disservice not to eat their healthy dishes. I understand the menu changes frequently as they source their food locally. Portions are good, not hearty, but the flavor is top notch! A must try if you're on the fence. One of the best and most unique things about the place is their selection of farm fresh dairy (cheese, eggs, etc.). Never quite seen anything like it. It's overwhelming to describe as they have selections from Italy, France, rural MN etc. You'll just have to check it out. 😉

Our night at Luna was one of those rare occasions where you thoroughly enjoy every single thing you try. Well, I wasn’t inclined to the beet salad because I knew I didn’t like beets before and gave it a whirl anyways, but the rest of my party demolished it quite quickly. So besides that- it was all a hit. This is definitely more of a fancy restaurant than I realized looking at it from the outside. I think they prefer you make a reservation, but we didn’t and with 4 of us were still able to be seated almost right away mid dinner rush. If you aren’t into trying some unique flavor combinations, then Luna probably isn’t for you. They definitely have a more advanced culinary chef who knows how to work with interesting flavor profiles, and I’m totally willing to branch out. I got a duck dish, and it was marvelous. The surf and turf was the dish I’d get if I went again, but wow every single thing I tried was good. You know the food is good when each person at your table tries a bite of everyone else’s dishes- we all shared with each other because we all NEEDED to experience the taste bud sensations. Oh, and if you do go here, please pop in the first bathroom to check out the gnarly dog “painting” that’s in there… trust me, you’ll get a good laugh.

The food was a bit on the smaller side for portions but flavors were pretty big! The deserts espcially were VERY rich. With a different menu I think either everyday or every week they may not have these items but may have even more exciting deserts to choose from. We ordered the brownie and vanilla ice cream which was very dense dark and fudge and ice cream perfect amount of sweet. The masala cheesecake was a little bit too odd for me the masala taste was stronger than I would like in a desert and the cheesecake aspect of it was also understated. Lastly the apple cinnamon sorbet we ordered had a HUGE kick to it the cinnamon was pretty spicy and I’m not one with a low spice loterance it gave me a little kick in the throat with each bite very interesting! Depend prices small serving for a more long evening with several courses including appetizer main and desert and lots of great cocktails and mocktails to choose from !
