Review Alaska Salmon Bake - Fairbanks

A Fairbanks tradition. Salmon was very good. Very family friendly. Also an area, and special menu, for you fur babies. RV parking.

Halibut Did not taste like Halibut, halibut was a see-through color and not the white of cooked Halibut. Maybe old? Frozen too long? No taste. Mac and cheese wasnt fresh and had been sitting too long, potatoes burned and no flavor. Now the desert( not poctured had been sitting uncovered WAY WAY too long. Completely dried out! The premixed drink was ok, wine was cheap and tasted like it sat out and soured. My first time here, ive lived here 11 years and im completely disappointed in the lack of pride in their food. NOT worth the huge amount we spent on our family of 10 to treat them!!

A must stop place if you are a tourist and find yourself in Fairbanks. Decent food and plenty of it, in a picnic setting. Cafeteria style service with Carving Stations, Lots of variety on the menu. Friendly staff, with the added benefit that there are not a lot of bugs. There are tables scattered about in the Pines as well as indoor dining halls. You can always find a place to sit and eat. We've been twice on two different trips and we'd not hesitate to go again.

Presentation looked good, the drinks and options were fine, but the salmon was disappointing. Felt like a tourist trap since it was sweetened for no reason.

Peach margaritas were fantastic! We ordered two of the Mother Lodes and split it between 4 people (2 adults, 2 young teens) and it was plenty of food. Salmon was everyone's favorite part.

The food was delicious! Salmon, prime rib and beer battered cod were offered, along with an extensive salad bar, rolls, several side dish options and dessert. The prime rib was delicious and served right off the grill. You have an option of sitting outside on picnic tables under the trees, or inside at dining tables. We were pleased overall and definitely recommend.

The fried cod basket was enough for me to share with my daughter. Piping hot, delicious flavor. Taking home the glass was a perk.

Only open from memorial Day until Labor Day but if you are in town this is definitely a place you want to stop and get some of the best salmon around. Prices are reasonable (for Alaska) we probably had some of the best service we have encountered up on our trip.

The Cod and prime rib are still good. The salmon is actually marketed as silverbrite salmon. It is still Alaska salmon. That is the marketing name for chum or also known as dog salmon. I find this very sad still charging high price and serving the lowest quality salmon. So if you are looking for a decent meal of prime rib and cod. Still a good place to go and eat with out of town friends or family. Not the place to go for great Alaskan Salmon.

My family is new to Fairbanks and we heard that we had to experience this place. I had no expectations at all. We all really enjoyed ourselves, it was a beautiful day, it was delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere. The salmon has a brown sugar base glaze, not bad. The prime rib was tender and flavorful, the fried cod was my favorite. There was a salad bar, and a hot dog bar that had some ridiculously delicious roasted potatoes. A cute little cabin with modest assortment of desserts and coffee. Then the bar had a decent variety of beer and wine. Will make it a tradition every summer.

I hate fish! period I don't do it....never will ....those where my famous last words. Absolutely delighted and had to go back for seconds. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat

Not sure if I missed something, but the one style of Salmon was not really all that good. We had 7 of us at the table and 3 didn't care for it and 3 didn't eat it. Is there more than one style of cooking the salmon there? I would think that a place that specializes in Salmon Bake would have multiple flavors. Not just a sugar glazed chunk. Anyway, the rest of the food was pretty good. Beer batter Cod was my favorite.

Not great but not bad , the prices were horibble and any one can dip fish in a brown sugar glaze, I really had my hopes up that it would be better. The best meal you can get in Fairbanks is probably in your own house

People were amazing with the crowd. The lines moved quickly. They couldn’t keep up the pace with the cod but it was worth the wait. The food was excellent. Definitely will go again very soon.

What a delightful place. Staff was very helpful if we had a question. I loved the quilts on the walls. Most people would probably not notice but a quilter would for sure. The potato salad and mac and cheese were wonderful. The cod wasn't bad. The salmon was a tad iffy and the pieces of beef that my son and I had left a lot to be desired. We left a lot on our plate. (When I say, my son, I mean a grown up of 42 years). The riding salmon was a surprise. If I had been younger, I might have climbed up and had my photo taken. Enjoy the experience, it is more than the food.

Great place to take family that is visiting. All the staff was very nice. It is costly but worth every penny

Horrible! Went there as part of a land tour before cruise. The salmon was dry and overcooked. They ran out of prime rib and fish when our large group arrived. No great loss because the prime rib was tasteless! Desserts were unappetizing as well so we passed. Don't waste your money on this "tourist trap". The guy slicing the prime rib was rude too!

Took my visiting family here again this year. The salmon bake is what they were looking forward to the most. Amazing prime rib, good salmon, and delicious cod. The only thing I would change is being able to add crab like we did last year with it being X amount of dollars extra. The 12.00 for a pound was a bit steep. Overall, my visiting family and us who live here thoroughly enjoyed it again. Will definitely be coming back next year.

My first time in Alaska. This was a great place to eat. The sangria is great too. I enjoy everything!

I looove the prime rib there. The crab was amazing too. Didn't try anything else yet because every time we go, I can't get past the prime rib.

Mother’s day special... We waited nearly 20 minutes for the crab and when we got it it was still frozen.. Little disappointed. Best thing was having family together.

Meh. Overpriced, mediocre food. They make the salmon taste like the want it to be dessert. The prime rib was okay though. Bones in the cod. Overall... meh.
