This has to be one of the most interesting and engaging date nights! To start things off, my husband and I arrived to see my name on a little board and a seating facing right into the kitchen just for us; the tasting menu is just for one couple at a time. The chef and staff were very engaging, we had such a great time talking and learning about the food, the place, the area, anything! And the food, well the food was incredible. The dishes were beautiful and imaginative, not to mention delicious.
My favorite was the pate on top of a little waffle, which sounds strange, but was so flavorful! They also brought us pickled herring for a course, and it literally melted in my mouth. The cheese course was cheese inside of warm beignets! The wine pairings were, of course, on point, as one would expect.
We had such a wonderful time that we ended up staying almost 3 hours, and the number of courses seemed to just be up to the whim of the chef, way more than I anticipated, but it was just the right amount of food. The service was perfect, I will certainly be back once the patio opens!
Wow, what an experience! We've tried numerous restaurants in New Hampshire (and New England) in the short time we've lived here, and I must say that this tops them all. The minute we walked into the place, we knew we stumbled upon something special. Tony, the owner, greeted us, and the waitress was very personable. And then comes Chef Paul! The guy was a joy to chat with, and the 5 courses he and his sous-chef served us were beyond savory. Wine was also excellent. To have a place like this just minutes from home is a dream. This is our new "date night" spot, for sure! Highly recommend.
Really. 4.5. We've thought about going for a long time. A couple weeks ago, in the bitter cold we walked to front floor to review the menu. Chef Paul came to the door, invited us into the restaurant and gave us a "Chefs Tour". His enthusiasm was infectious. We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes and wines recommended. We cannot wait to go back! And look forward to catching a noght at the Chefs Table!!!!
Thank you for a really fine evening!
GREAT Great place to enjoy fine dining. Service, presentation and food all excellent. Lovely riverside surroundings. Can't wait to go back!
Presentation, execution, & atmosphere just so good!! Will definitely be back.
Great service, really interesting small plates and entrees. The food is fine dining but the atmosphere is more casual/laidback (in a good way)
Vino e Vivo was excellent. They fit us in for an early dinner seating and we had a fabulous time. Service was excellent, tasty wine and the food was amazing. My husband had a mushroom soup he said was outstanding with a surprising taste of cherries. I had the salmon and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. The dessert was the best chocolate torte we have ever had. Nutella powder and a special fruit compote.and homemade basil ice cream. You have to try the food here. Chef Patrick is super talented. He even came out to visit our table and say, Hi!
One of our new favs in Exeter, and quite honestly for the East coast of NH. AMAZING wine bar where the owner hangs out every night and offers an incredible selection of wines that are unique and enjoyable. The chef is a master - dinner is an experience you can’t miss. If you are in the area, definitely stop by this local gem. You will not be disappointed!!
