Must try if you visit Everglades city! Great price and very fresh seafood! Staff is super nice and the service was great ! I’ve never had better hush puppies !
Atmospheric and cheerful spot on the water. The food was very good but slightly overpriced for the portion size, but it tasted fresh so that was fine with me. We got the crab cakes and the fried gator tail. The gator was delicious! For the crab cake, the side of fries were clearly a frozen variety and the side of hush puppies included 2 tiny ones, which was a bit less than the $23 price would suggest. The gator tail was $16 for a very small container, but it was filling with a delicious sauce. Would recommend.
Absolutely delightful! Saw an ad in the "Marco (Island) Review " magazine and took the forty minute drive for stone crab claws. Learned that Everglades City supplies much of the nation's stone crab crop so freshness here is a given. We got a lunch of jumbos which comes with two sides, hush puppies, drawn butter and creamy mustard sauce. Everything was delicious (gotta get the beans!) and the servers were all smiles, busy and good. It's a pricey lunch. Splurge a little - you'll be so glad you did!!
We tried the Florida stone crab here on a recommendation from one of Captain Jack’s tour guides and it was exceptional. It was also fun sitting near the edge of the pier and feeding our crab claw scraps to the catfish. Lunch and a show! As an added bonus, they had one of the best key lime pies here as well. We’ve sampled around ten pies on this trip so far and it was definitely in the top three.
Yeah it’s good, very very very good. Stopped by myself for a big lunch. Had the stone crab claws as appetizer. What can anyone say about fresh stone crab claws other than delicious? Served with butter and a mustard sauce. They came with hush puppies and I got the macaroni salad and beans which were really phenomenal. As a main entree I had the blackened grouper (not on the menu) which was supremely delicious. Served with fries and coleslaw. For desert I had the peanut butter pie which was so much better than I expected. Really satisfied.
Exceptional choice for fresh Florida stone crab. Situated adjacent to the waterway, this eatery has a simple menu with delicious sides to pair with meaty claws. In Florida, stone crabs are legal to harvest from October 15 through May 1.
We flew into X01 and caught a ride into town. After eating, we decided to walk off the meal with a nice 30 min stroll back to the airport. With a bike (or arranged transportation) this is a very rich experience.
Great service, great food! We had the alligator tail (round bites of alligator) and the gulf shrimp. Both were delicious. The breading was just the right amount and it was very flavorful. Our server was also great. Highly recommend.
Of the various spots on the river in Everglades City, I particularly enjoy the family owned Triad Seafood Market and Cafe. I tend to stop there when I’m out exploring the Everglades and taking wildlife photos and that’s always a great spot to refuel. Very casual and I particularly like the picnic style seating that allows you to look out over the river. I’ve spotted dolphins, ospreys and plenty of pelicans while enjoying a tasty seafood lunch. Stone crabs when in season are excellent and I get a kick out of tossing the shells overboard.
Absolutely fantastic and we sat right facing the water.
We shared fried alligator tail; phenomenal!
Main meal I got blackened shrimp, sweet potato fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies again phenomenal!
Everything was tasty. Just be better with paper towels vs napkins.
