French Kiss Cafe

I love this place. I come here at least once a week for lunch and a smoothie and the food is always fantastic. The pomegranate smoothie is a favorite and perfect for hot summer days. It's made with fresh fruit that you can see on display so you know its great quality. The cheesecake is fantastic, and they really know how to pack your sandwiches with a lot of meat and veggies. The staff is also incredibly kind and gracious.

Is this place even open anymore? I have only eaten there once and was so massively underwhelmed that I wanted to try to give it one more shot to give it the benefit of the doubt. However, every time the past two weeks I have walked by with the intent of being there, they are never open! No closed sign or anything, no updated hours, they are just always closed! I work in the area and have heard multiple people as if they have gone out of business because apparently this has been an ongoing thing. When I ate there the "French dip" wasn't like any French dip I had ever had. Massively think purple onion, dry and tough roast beef, and literally a cup of beef broth on the side (that they didn't give me initially and I had to remind them of). Beef broth isn't an au jus substitute. The milkshake I got was ok... but nothing special. The service was abismall. Had to snap the woman behind the counter out of her phone trance to take my order, she had to yell back at someone to get into the kitchen. And during the au jus request moment they looked at me, then each other, then turned around to double check that the dish even came with it before going to get it for me... So... Yeah. Lukewarm service isn't even cutting it there. Like, it could be great, I've heard it is... but I am guessing there was a shift over in ownership or management... I wish something would change. The menu was cute from what I had seen. Here's hoping something changes.
