Fresh Freeze

We headed to Fresh Freeze Drive-in for dessert. And it did not disappoint. We got some shakes and cones, everything was really good. The large cone was so huge! Probably they are understaffed, because one guy was working on our order (and we ordered 8 different things) and there was a huge line after us. (he was fairly quick) What we didn't like is the cleanness of the outside space. Half of the benches and tables had leftover food or ice cream on them, so they weren't usable. (probably because they are understaffed)

This is a fun old place to get some ice cream on a sunny day. I enjoyed their crispy chicken burger with no tomatoes and added pepper jack cheese to it, so it actually wasn't a burger. In fact, it was two chicken tenders. Nonetheless, it was still delicious. The chocolate ice cream sometimes tastes watered-down, though.

I grew up coming here at least once if not twice a week. I haven't been back in over 15 years. I brought my kids hoping the oreo milkshake tasted the same. It did. My kids loved the sundaes and mikshakes too. We didn't eat lunch, buT only because the wait was long. Call ahead if you don't want to wait. Our ice cream was done within 5 minutes. There is seating inside and out. Some people had dogs with them. Prices are reasonable. Parking easy. Definitely recommend. Whenever we are able to return to humboldt, we will be back.

We stopped here to eat because my parents had heard about it. We were not disappointed. Great hamburgers, milkshakes and frosty’s that the whole family was satisfied with. There is an outside area and an inside area to eat - we decided to sit inside. My 5 year old son loved to look at all of the model cars behind the glass and kept asking me if they were on sale. My nephew tried his first milkshake here and he loved it. We will make sure to stop by next time we are in town.

So some of the things I grabbed was some chili cheese fries and a chicken sandwich. My choice of drinks were their cherry lime squeeze and an Oreo shake. Everything tastes pretty good and the portion sizes are good. The only thing I didn’t like that much was the prices. The fries cost me about 5 bucks and the sandwich cost about 7 and some change. The small Oreo shake was about 6 dollars and the drink was a couple dollars too. This is the only reason why I don’t give it a full 5 stars. Everything is good, but not that good to charge that much.

Great food, great environment, good oldies tunes wafting through the air with the smell of good burgers and milkshakes. You may need to be patient with wait time, and you must ALWAYS check your order. They always make it right, but it seems like our order is never correct the first time. Still, that's the learning curve. I've been coming back for over a decade and will continue.
