What a lovely place! Other than being way too popular...and understandably so, it was a divine experience. Our waiter was the best! On top of things during a very busy night and still had a great sense of humor. I highly recommend this place. Next time we’ll make reservations way in advance:)
We enjoyed a fabulous meal on Valentines night, our first time at this restaurant. Food and service was excellent, exceeded our expectations, with veggie options too. Overall ambience relaxing with a gentle buzz that teased the senses. Highly recommend, and great to have this as a new restaurant in town. We stopped in here on a whim, and are we glad we did! The food is excellent, drinks are fabulous, and the staff are all attentive but not overbearing. We were lucky to get a seat facing into the kitchen and we loved watching the special ballet that the cooks, runners and wait staff have. Do yourself a favor: give this place a try. You won't be sorry.
Great food, amazing view, excellent wine list, friendly + professional service - who could ask for more! Looks like they will have a nice patio in the summer. It is about a mile before the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Run here! Food is excellent, service is friendly, location is great! This is city meets country with the dichotomy of playful yet upscale without being pretentious. You will not go away hungry either. The provisions and pickle jar was phenomenal. This is a salty and sweet paradise on a platter. We also had the meatloaf with the dreamiest mashed potatoes. There are burgers and fries which you could have as well. Don’t be intimidated by terminology because this is food you will talk about and remember. We saw people cleaning serving dishes with bread and others curiously peaking over to see what neighbors were eating. Bird and Jim is elevating the dining scene in Estes Park. Food has become mediocre in a town where you can count on people needing to find a meal. Bird and Jim’s has set a new bar and it’s high!
Wonderful food, great atmosphere and a view to die for. If ever in the area again I’m absolutely returning. The vegan soup was delicious.
Great food, wait staff and sitting on the patio was near perfection.

We stopped in to eat dinner on a weekend evening with two small, rambunctious kiddos who were “starving”. We we greeted right away and accommodated with seating in the lounge area near the bar. The kids loved their house made chicken nuggets, our meatloaf and salmon BLT were amazing and the bar selection rivaled that of any large city high end restaurant. Service was prompt, as well as the delivery of our food. As long as it’s open, we will come back when visiting from Texas!
A great lunch experience after stopping in the national park. All of the service was great but especially the employee who took the extra time to spend a few minutes talking to my four year old daughter. We enjoyed sitting on a couch in the lounge area for our meal. I asked for a recommendation on which burger to get and the Buffalo burger didn't disappoint. My side garden salad was also huge! The kids menu had some good options but could use additional drink options like apple juice or chocolate milk!

I had the elk, lamb and bbq flank and it was awesome. Paired with garlic broccoli and potatoes. All was so obvious homemade and so well prepared! Well done America, what a nice change from the processed industry.
The missus had the buffalo burger which was delicious. We shared a chocolate cake for dessert and this was not worth the calories. But that’s not gonna change our experience from Bird and Jim’s, 5 stars.
Absolutely a great surprise. Everything is well prepared with lots of thoughts. I feel nothing we had here can be found elsewhere. In a tourist area honestly I wasn’t expecting much but Bird & Jim definitely exceeded my expectations from every single perspective. Highly recommended to everyone comes to Estes park and want something a bit formal and upscale!!!
Came down to Estes from Denver for a day and decided to stop by here and it was an awesome day. Food was phenomenal. Had only starters and drinks but I heard that the entrees are pretty good. Please try the Carnivore dish. I heard it was very delicious. Didn’t try it but I wanted too but wasn’t that hungry. Hospitality was great. Bar tender did an amazing job. Waited for you to decide what you wanted to order and came back to ask you. Overall everything was excellent. I would come back and try that dish I didn’t had time to try. Recommend to anyone go stops in Estes for a day or two.

Outstanding food & service! This restaurant far surpassed my expectations, and was likely the best customer service experience I have ever received at a restaurant. We visited a couple of weeks ago during spring break and had a large party of 4 adults and 8 kids, and we were looking to enjoy a high quality experience somewhere in Estes Park for our final night in town. Bird & Jim delivered.
The service: The excellent customer service began before we even arrived at the restaurant! We called ahead to make a reservation and double check that it was ok to bring a large group, including children. Not only were they good with us bringing our brood, but they also called us back 20 minutes later to ask if they could have lemonades and appetizers ready for us when we arrived. What?! The world class customer service continued at the restaurant with a very warm welcome by the front desk hostess, and continued on as we were seated. Everything was ready for us including appetizers, drinks, coloring kits for the kids, etc. Our waitress, Sarah, was outstanding the entire time and walked us through the menu and made suggestions. She always seemed to be a step ahead of what we needed at every turn. She went above and beyond consistently, even figuring out what the brand name of the ketchup was that the kids had with their food and writing it down on a piece of paper for us. There was even one point when our baby was starting to fuss and she offered to hold him! Not sure what more you could ask for in above and beyond service, TBH.
The Food: The food was so good and unique! The food itself was of high quality and the flavors were unlike any other that I had experienced. Everything from the pork belly appetizer and homemade chips and dip, to the kids' chicken tenders, to the carnivore plate was just outstanding.
Couldn't have asked for a more pleasing experience, and I highly recommend this place. I bet the patio in the summer time is awesome!
We had the best experience! Mina our waitress was fun and totally willing to bring us one of each of the sides and shareables. Ian was a great help & totally embraced our family style vibe. From the bar to the dining room and back to the bar everyone was fun & willing to share the experience with us.
The service was outstanding and fun. The food was out of this world. Our new favorite place in Estes Park!!
Excellent fresh food with a myriad of drink selections. Waiter knew the menu and we loved his recommendations. Had to sit in the lounge area as it was a Saturday night, but only had to wait about five minutes. Would definitely recommend
We went to Bird & Jim for my birthday brunch recently, which I believe is only served on Sundays. We were so impressed with the atmosphere, food, and drinks! The shitake fries were stellar, as were the trout entree with potatoes, and the Elk Steak and Eggs. THE SWEET AND SPICY BACON IS INCREDIBLE! Drinks are great and the wine list looked great.
