Visited on a Saturday night. Had booked a table and was given a lovely one overlooking the water. The restaurant is very nice and views even better.
Great vegan options on the menu, had the beetroot burger which was ok. Also had the sticky toffee pudding which was very nice.
Special mention to Laura who was really lovely and friendly. Would love to come back and try more of the vegan options!
First time there on recommendation of colleague at work. Not disappointed. Nice Modern Gastropub with a view of the river. Would be lovely to sit outside on a summer's day. Welcoming and attentive staff. We had the shared antipasti which was nice, maybe roccotta cheese might be too much. I have the Sumac Lamb Shank with was nice but slightly over done outside. My wife has the Buttered Cod which was tasty , tad too much chorizo. Good size portion . Price point a bit expensive overall. But a pleasant experience overall
Lovely restaurant and Ella the waitress was lovely. We all had the roasts and it was the nicest i’ve had in a while from a pub. We booked the igloos and had an amazing experience.
We were treated to a lunch of fish and chips; which we took in the garden. Whilst we did enjoy the riverside views and sunshine, we would have liked an outside area with no smokers.
We chose to have a pod for our Christmas do, dining from the festive menu. There were 8 of us and each one of us enjoyed our meals, the rib of beef being the main highlight, we complimented the chef (Marchin I believe?). The staff were very attentive, which was surprising given we were outside in a pod but we were not kept waiting for anything. Highly recommend

Had a lovely meal today here, pleasantly surprised how wonderful the place is, as I havnt been here for over twenty years. Staff were amazing, service was excellent along with the food.
It feels like the anchor has changed hands a few times in the past years, it was exceptional 10 or so years ago and then went down hill, I feel like it was brought by a chain and the quality did a nose dive while prices continued to increase. I've not been on a few years as a result until last week.
I am not sure if there has been new management again recently because the food during this past visit was excellent and the service was exceptional. It's still over priced I feel which is why I've dropped it to 4/5 overall.
Our first time here, we turned up on Sunday lunchtime for something to eat. The tables were all fully booked, but the staff went above and beyond to find us somewhere.
The service was prompt and polite and good humoured. The food arrived quickly and was delicious.
Can't fault anything.... Will definitely book in advance next time and get a table with a river view.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal f cod with new potatoes, churizo and spinach. Fish was beautifully cooked and the flavours in the meal were mouthwatering. Above all, our waitress had a lovely welcome for us, a lovely smile, sat us by the window with a view, was very attentive and made my elderly Mum's visit here a memorable one.
Great place to have dinner out ☺️with friends. Great variety of food and service was attentive. I had the chicken cesar salad and this was filling, being the chicken well cooked. It was a bit pricey but at the same time the place is really nice, food is really good and the kitchen seems utterly clean. I would definitely recommend!
Great food in a lovely setting. A modern, classy gastro-pub on the banks of the river Crouch with its own take on modern dining.
Update for 2022 - Now with outside "Pods" with great views of the river. Various other outside and inside seating options, a well stocked bar and friendly staff. Brilliant service and excellent food.
My Auntie and her friend had Moules Marinierre ,I Had rump steak medium rare perfect, and a gorgeous Bakewell latte with amaretto, not been for a long time, very pleasant thanks.
