Was just there today for my Chili Cheese Dog fix and a health inspector was also there. Mark’s got 100% on their inspection, which is rare to get on their 1st shot (meaning most places only get 100% when the health inspector has already been there, and told them they needed to fix a few things for their next inspection)!
Not only that, but 10-15 mins later the same health inspector came back with a friend to order up some lunch. If that doesn’t tell you how awesome this place is, then idk what will! Seriously great job guys! I love supporting a business that really shows love and pride in their own work.
My wife and I came here for breakfast this morning and were greeted with warm, happy, "Good morning" from the staff as we walked through the door. Clean, cozy and comfortable! We felt right at home. The dining area is small with just a few tables but the atmosphere, great service, welcoming conversation, and freshly made food greatly makes up for it! The opportunity to have their freshly made breads or bagels are a treat! I had the breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage and cinnamon bread (it was tasty and seasoned nicely -the cinnamon bread was amazing!). And my wife has the stuffed French toast though served with syrup, it wasn't even necessary as the stuffed French toast was perfect on its own. Even the coffee was guy and great tasting too!
The bags of caramel popcorn .... Oh my gosh... Absolutely light salty and sweet at the same time...It was like little pieces of heaven!
We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner options as well as their ice cream! What a great spot, great food, and great service!
My husband and I went to Marks tonight for dinner after being referred by Jennifer M. Who frequents this establishment. We were extremely surprised by the aroma of Home made rolls baking and their vast variety menu. The waitress was also very inviting and spoke of the restaurant as if she owned it, informing us that everything is made to order and most of the menu selections are made from scratch. My husband sampled their tomato sauce and bring Italian he is fussy. The sauce got a thumbs up, very tasty with a bit of a kick. We will be adding this restaurant to our list to return to.
Thank you!!!!
Delicious food. It took a while to get the food to the table, but was well worth the wait the food was made from scratch. The waitstaff definitely had a way with words, describing the food. I do recommend everyone to visit at least once to decide
for yourself.
Went there last night with my family 9 of us The food came out quickly kids food first. I try and switch It up I tried the chicken parm dinner. The chicken was great and great portion size. My mom had the meatloaf it was delicious as well and my sister the pulled pork! All dishes tasted great. Next time I'm getting the meat loaf to myself!
We were headed to Springfield and found this place on YELP after traveling to several other places that were either closed or too crowded. Great breakfast omelettes, friendly staff and really cute place tucked away in a neighborhood setting.
Best breakfast I’ve had in a while. The bacon was thick (not your typical restaurant bacon!) and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend is not a breakfast person and he had nothing but great things. They had homemade English muffins that were amazing. Staff was also extremely friendly and prices were great too.

Knowing I wanted to try this place, I decided yesterday for lunch, would be great! My 13 year old daughter was not wanting to go. I offered to let her stay in the car, knowing sh wouldn't. Walking in, we were greeted by Tanya, who was wonderful! The atmosphere is so welcoming! The decor is beautiful and homey. My daughter ordered the chicken quesadilla with a side of potato salad. I ordered the lemon garlic chicken, over tomato orzo (I don't like lemon chicken...I felt a need to try this), with a cup of the soup of the day, beef vegetable (something I never order or buy!). My daughter and I loved the soup so much, we ordered another to go! Our meals were amazing! Everything if fresh from scratch/homemade! Something to keep in mind, tell them the amount of tip you would like to add, prior to them processing your debit/credit. I didn't know this prior to paying and felt awful. So, to rectify this, we went back for dinner and brought more people! I had the Philly steak and cheese omelette (breakfast served all day!), with home fries and rye toast (homemade bread!). Daughter had a Caesar salad and cup of the soup again. Mom and her boyfriend ordered the meatloaf special served with mashed potato and carrots. They too were incredibly impressed and will be back! Mark's is a true gem in Thompsonville!
Great quality food. Comfortable environment. Server listens and is accommodating! Loved chicken parm sandwich, breakfast sandwich, and homemade biscuits.
Always a good meal here. Personally, I love the Great Start sandwich and order it almost every time. Sometimes, they have avocado to add to it. We bring friends here all the time. Fantastic food. Tanya bakes beautiful goods and Lindsey‘s energy’s fantastic! We keep coming back.

I enjoyed a nice hot homestyle lunch at Mark's today. I ordered off the menu a Tuna Melt on Rye and it came fresh and perfectly toasted and filled with chunks of albacore. Ministrone soup was out of this world - lots of tomato and seasoned nicely. The food and service is excellent and prices are very reasonable. A nice little spot that brightens up Thompsonville.
Had an amazing breakfast here today! Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was so kind and welcoming, we will definitely be back!
Great food and great service!! This place is a hidden gem.
Awesome place!!! The food was amazing!! The owner was extremely welcoming and running around all over the place (very busy)!! Will definitely comeback in the future, to try lunch/ dinner next.
I was able to stop in for breakfast this morning at Marks. What a wonderful little spot! I’m so mad that I’ve lived here for about 8 months now and haven’t made it in before today. I had a breakfast sandwich on their homemade English muffin bread- absolutely incredible! Hubby had the stuffed pancakes which were filled with fruit and homemade frosting- also amazing! And we had a wonderful side of home fries- not over seasoned, not filled with onions and other complicated things- just great, crispy potatoes- amazing and hard to come by.
We will definitely be returning. Very friendly waitress as well!
Thank you!
Excellent breakfast, great customer service! Highly recommend this restaurant
Yummy! Belgian waffle sweetened cream cheese with fresh fruit. No need for more words.
Great food, clean restaurant, and prompt friendly waitstaff. Philly Cheesesteak: steak had flavorful seasonings, was cheesy, and fresh peppers with a soft roll and included chips. Corned Beef Rueben: real corned beef, plenty of dressing and cheese, on soft rye bread, and the pasta salad side was delicious. Can't wait to go back!
Awesome place. Was looking for a small hometown feel restaraunt. We found it. So cozy and sparkling clean. The owners were friendly, food was amazing and no waiting. If you have never been, u highly recommend. We can't wait to go back. The cinnamon rolls are to die for.🥰🥰🥰
Absolutely delicious! Great Start Sandwich with egg, baby spinach, roasted red peppers, tomatoes and garlic aioli. Hubby's eggs, bacon and homefries came with a homemade English muffin. Will be eating there again.
Best breakfast I've havd in years!! Grits were amazing as well as my omelette. My for year old had an egg and cheese on a homemade english muffin. The re model of this building is wonderful. This was an abandoned house for as far back as I can remember. Easy on street and off parking. Great staff. Makes u feel right at home!!
