Honeybaked Ham

We placed our order today for a Christmas lunch we are hosting. Haven’t actually tried the food yet, so I’ll come back and update afterwards. The staff is really helpful, and they have some great deals. We ordered the $67 ham and turkey with sides. Makes for an uncomplicated day for us. It is odd, though, that they can’t guarantee your sides. First come first served on the day you pick up. I’d rather pay in full and be assured all my items are available. More to come, once we try it!

We have liked Honey Baked Hams for many years and usually will have one or two of them each year. This year we bought a small one for our Christmas dinner. It was small because we are keeping our distance during the pandemic. To get a ham, you will need to order it ahead of time. To pick it up, the order will stay when it will be available. we arrived at this place about 2:00 PM on Tuesday and the line to get in the store showed there were about six people in line. The store is small, and there are other things like deserts available, so the browsing of the people tends to make the line slower than it might be at a less busy time. Our wait to get took about twenty-minutes to go from waiting in line to placing the ham in the trunk. Tomorrow, we'll have the ham and it would surprise me if it wasn't just as perfect as we are expecting. This is small, but nice store. The people are helpful and pleasant.

I have been a customer of honeybaked since I can remember and I’ve eaten their food since I was a child. The fact that they will not make you a sandwich during a “holiday“ is disappointing, especially when the store is empty. As someone who does not celebrate Easter, I didn’t even know what holiday was coming. It’s Monday. The “holiday” it’s not until Sunday. I understand when things are busy and in a crunch how this is necessary and I would not be writing this in that situation; however there were five people behind the counter and someone at the sandwich counter doing nothing. There was one other person pre-ordering a ham. As a frequent customer, there was absolutely no reason to not make me a sandwich. It’s important for a business to be willing to alter rules when there’s clearly the ability to do so. I respect everyone who celebrates Easter however the equal respect should be given to those who do not. Unfortunately, this does change my opinion of this business and I will likely not return because of the value that they place on some customers and not others.

Every year, I usually order 5-6 medium sized ham (Encinitas store) and will gift them to relatives. This year, I have pre-ordered and picked up in store (Encinitas) total of 6 medium half boned ham for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This time, my relatives and I noticed that they are not the same honey baked ham we used to love. The hams were not the Golden Baked sugared ham we used to get in the past. This ham looks old, like a much cheaper, had been frozen, store-bought ham, dark like oven burned, and not what the store advertised as Golden Honey Baked Ham that we used to love. Very disappointed and not worth the money spent. I may not consider buying them again for my family and will definitely not buy for gifting to my relatives during the holidays. Please bring back the real Honey Baked Ham that the store is well known for.

I was shocked at how close to the Christmas eve holiday I was able to order my ham and extras for pick up. I did it online, the day before and it was there for pick up the next day. They clearly only had the ordered special sizes available, walk in got the huge ham only. We were a party of 5 so I'm so glad I ordered online and picked up. Had I planned even further out delivery would have been an option with even more food selection combos.

Very disappointed in Honey Baked Ham in Encinitas. I drove by to pick up an order and nobody was social Distancing. There were about 100 people in line up and down in front of the store very close. I was very saddened at total disregard for COVID guidelines. I did not pick up my order and won’t be going there ever again.
