Rosati's Pizza

We’ve been to Chicago dozens of times having been raised in Illinois. Since living in Southern California for the past two years we’ve not found great pizza anywhere, until we ate our first pizza here last night. We ordered the antipasto salad and it was delicious. We also had the combination pizza with sausage (best flavor) pepperoni, onion, black olives and green pepper(we asked them to hold this). The pizza was outstanding! We were blown away and were so happy with the quality of ingredients, crust and it was delivered to our table hot. We’re already talking about when we’ll go again. Super job!

I want to start by saying the server was very nice. Even so, the food has to be good for us to continue coming here. That has never been an issue in the past; however, we were there recently and that wasn't the case. We went out for dinner to celebrate our daughter's birthday. She wanted pizza and we chose Rosati's because we've had good experiences in the past. This was not the case at our most recent visit. The plates were dirty.. like crusted on food dirty. Even scraping it with my fingernails, it was hard to get it off. The barbecue wings were pretty unappetizing. They seemed to have sat out for awhile and refried several times before coming to our table. The green peppers on our pizza tasted like they had been frozen prior. It was mediocre pizza and it used to be good. Overall, we were fairly disappointed at how much the quality of the food had dissipated. Again, the server was nice but we won't be going back again.

Favorite pizza joint in SD County. They have your Chicago style deep-dish but their thin crust is prime, coated with cornmeal on the bottom of the pie. Last takeout was disappointing as they completely botched my 'za (wrong toppings, ordered the veggie and received a spinach and tomato). It was still a quality pizza, just not my desired toppings at the time... also their sweet pepps on the beef sandwiches need a lot of work.
