Review The Manor On Glen Lake - Empire

Sabrina Saxton
I’ve been coming to this general area for 14 years. Food from The Manor has always been great, and always a pleasurable experience. The owner, Nancy will sit and talk with you, and the servers will check to make sure you’re constantly having a nice dining experience.

The service is awesome and very friendly! It does need some tlc, the manor leaves one wondering about the beauty that ir was in earlier days. Cross the street and get your feet wet in the beautiful Glen Lake which is a great walk in the clear shallow waters. We came with 6 adults and 6 children, we would love to come again!

Very friendly staff, beautiful dining area inside. We had the duck and the meatloaf and both were delicious. Nice local wine list too. And a nice view of the lake!

We went for lunch (The Manor is currently open for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays). The broccoli quiche was the best I have ever tasted! Skillfully made with a creamy cheesy goodness. We ordered creme brûlée and strawberry panna cotta for dessert. Just outstanding. The service was friendly and efficient. We loved being able to sit in front of the large window with a view of beautiful Glen Lake.

Had a very nice dinner with family. Not as busy as we expected, which was a welcome surprise for us. Staff was very helpful.

Terrible food. The food was the worst I ever had in northern Michigan. Stale rolls, wilted salad, over salted uncle Bens rice that seemed like it was cooked several days ago. Dried out over salted salmon at a price of $27! The service was even worse. Wine by glass was old and warm. This place should close.
