Loved it!!. A friend and I stayed in Swansboro, NC and went looking for a good coffee shop. We found 4J's in Emerald Isle (they moved across the street from the Food Lion recently), and it was well worth the drive. Super great staff--personal, friendly baristas and the owner was really friendly and casual. Great selection of drinks: hot, iced, and blended. The first time we went, I got a blended Truffle coffee drink--it was almond, toffee, and caramel (I think?)--amazing! Then the next day I got a blended Black Forest Mocha--chocolate and cherry--to die for! I was so impressed. I also enjoyed a bagel with cream cheese, and lounging on the couches in the cafe. They have all kinds of goodies like chocolate-covered coffee beans, protein bars, scones, muffins, and cookies. They also have smoothies and unique coffee flavors of the day. I will recommend this coffee shop to anyone who drive anywhere close to Emerald Isle!!

I love getting coffee treat here! In the summer try some of their specialty frozen drinks. My favorite is the "Kelly" which was created for my good local friend. It is a lower calorie version of a chocolate/coffee milk shake. Great atmosphere for visiting with friends, and my 9 year old loves the orange-sicle and cotton candy drinks.
Such a cute place & awesome coffee! I tried the snickerdoodle coffee- so good. My daughters got the lattes and loved them ! Their muffins are so delicious & fresh. Service is excellent. Nicest staff! Loved it!
Good coffee served hot or cold, also boasts a useful selection of gourmet cooking supplies and ingredients. In-house baked pastries are really good, owner and baristas have always been pleasant.
Biggest coffee menu on the island and fairly priced. Plenty of unique items in the general store to shop while your treats are being made.
We got some caramel, and peach honey sticks. They had many more flavors. We got some homemade cherry chocolate biscoti and 3 different (cherry, blackberry & chocolate) shortbread cookies. YUMMY!! Thinking of going back for a coffee... they have a large variety of specialty coffee creations and protein shakes. Cool little store!
The food and latte were pretty good. I would definitely try some other coffees here!
Nice selection of coffee, tea, smoothies & other drinks. My favorite is the peanut butter & jelly smoothie, which would be even better with grape jelly flavor. The decor is cute & there's a nice setup inside. Best use of theme plates on the walls I've ever seen. There's a cute sitting area inside but we always take ours to go. Plenty of parking.
We love this place. The coffee is always fantastic and they have other merchandise that is helpful if you are renting a house for vacation. They moved to a new location.
The owner Joe is a good guy. Highly recommend spending time in his coffee shop. His coffee creations are delicious and has many other drinks such as tea and smoothies for the kids. He is moving to a new location soon in the K&V shopping center.
Seriously the best coffee you'll ever have, along with bakery items like muffins and scones. Once you have their coffee and everything they have to offer, every other coffee place will never compare.

These other reviews claim. It’s just that he’s from up north, and can come off a little more abrasive than most southerners are used to. He doesn’t mean anything by it. Where my family is from, you walk into any store especially locally owned, you don’t even get a hello. That’s just how it is.
I love the custom flavored coffees especially the snicker dandy! Also the frozen drinks are pretty good, my daughter loves them!
I never thought I would walk into a coffee shop on vacation and see a small general store full of things that you probably forgot to pack when you left for vacation. Incredibly reasonably priced as well. Their coffee selections and quality is amazing. A must stop almost everyday while vacationing at Emerald Isle.
Ok, finally, a unique coffee shop. Feels like a secret community hangout. Where everybody knows your name, and you can find all sorts of wares to purchase. We had a great experience visiting this morning, and met several repeat patrons whom we enjoyed conversation with. Def my new go-to spot for coffee and baked goods on the island.
