I come for at least one meal at Med Deli every time I am in Chapel Hill. There is something for everyone here! As a gluten free vegetarian, I usually struggle to find something to eat when we go out. But at Med Deli, I have sooooo many yummy options that I just can’t decide! Today I had the traditional falafel on gluten free pita. What a treat! I swear the jeans I wore today no longer fit because I ate every. Last. Drop. My son had the shwarma. He was very happy with his choice. Very flavorful. My husband got a two item platter. It was HUGE. Don’t forget to check out the desserts! No where will a gluten free person find so many amazing - and huge portion- dessert!

Amaaaaazing! Supremely fresh and delicious food. Big WOW on the Moroccan chicken and rice, infused with just the right amount of saffron. Couldn’t decide between the Greek or Lebanese grape leaves, so delightfully enjoyed one of each, while watching your ladies make pita bread in the earthen oven. The baklava was savored later. Will return, hungry.

I've been meaning to try Med Deli for the past year and I finally made! It did not disappoint. My problem was that I wanted one of everything. My toddlers ate their weight in pita and hummus, and the baklava (walnut & pistachio) was the best thing I've ever eaten! I also love the Armenian cranberry wild rice.

I dined at Mediterranean Deli for the first time ever yesterday, but it certainly won't be the last. Talk about an embarrassment of riches! So many amazing dishes to choose from, and just when I thought I'd settled on something, another tempting platter or bowl would call to me. Incredibly delicious food at a fair price with generous portions and a helpful staff. What more could you ask for? Not seconds, because you'll be too full!

Med Deli is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in town. I always order a combination from the many side dishes that they offer, and the portion sizes are great for the price!

There's a reason why Kalamaki and Jasmin both went out of business. It's because this place is unbeatable. The prices are a bit high, but they give you a lot of food for the money, so it's fair.

Not only does Med Deli have the best food, but they also have the best hearts. Always there to support the community and provide the greatest tiramisu in town.

Newbie here to Chapel Hill and this place was recommended by a coworker. Wow I am so glad I tried it! I got the veggie panini wrap that also came with a side Greek salad. So delicious! Also got a slice of walnut baklava that was the best I've ever had. Both the entree and sweet ending were a great size and a good price! Will be back for sure. PS: the gal working in the market/meat part was super welcoming. Thanks for saying hello!

I visited from Indiana (Chicago area). It was right up there with the Mediterranean food in Chicago! The price was a bargain compared to Chicago!

Fabulously fresh and healthy variety of foods at reasonable prices. Every visit to Chapel Hill includes a meal at the Mediterranean Deli! Curry apple orzo, chicken almond salad, gyros, any of the hummus flavors and pita are family favorites.

Med deli is THE BEST. By far the best Greek food I've had in chapel hill, if not ever. Plus, it's on campus too!!

Excellent variety of menu choices. The food tasted excellent. The quantity of servings is enough for multiple meals. If you’ve never been here to eat, try it. Sample different items. The desserts are the perfect touch to a great meal!

I previously went to Mediterranean deli in chapel hill and really liked it. They have Turkish style doner (not really) but it was good. We tried chicken and lamb kebab, they were delicious. I really like their sides; food you can get by pound or as platter. Sauté Mushroom and Mediterranean Quinoa! Next time we will try other vegetarian items.

I had heard praise for Mediterranean Deli from devotees of their Chapel Hill location (including folks with Lebanese roots, so you know it’s legit). When when the Elon location opened, I jumped at the chance to try it! This location occupies the entire street level of a new building (built 2016-2017) in downtown Elon near the beautiful main campus of the eponymous university. The variety of dishes is staggering and includes influences from Greece, Turkey, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, and beyond! There are plenty of vegetarian options and dishes are labeled for common allergens. Pick up a slip of paper and a golf pencil when you enter, write down what you want as you walk along the case, and hand it to the cashier at the other end. Staff will then bring your food to your table. I managed to ask the guys behind the case a few questions and got a sample of one dish, but they didn’t seem eager to help or interact with the customers. The food runner was much friendlier and happy to answer questions when she wasn’t serving. Don’t miss the complimentary condiments bar for all the tahini, tzatziki, olives, and Lebanese pickles you can eat! The restaurant is nicely decorated with many Middle Eastern influences. There’s also a grocery section with fresh produce, fresh meats, packaged groceries, and Ziyad brand spices. Mediterranean Deli is a great addition to this bustling college town and the surrounding community and meets at least one need for a trip to one of the nearby larger cities!
