Portillo's Elk Grove Village

I've heard all the buzz about Portillos, maybe even tried it during some airport layover but officially tried it today. The recommendation was a beef and sausage sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good, not going to lie but I've had it before... At home. But, with that being said, the restaurant was clean, service was friendly and I'll b back for something else. Fans of this place swear by it but I have yet to find out why. Maybe the dogs? Average

Pleasantly surprised! Especially for the incredibly menu has a various of sandwiches to choose from, and the prices was reasonably, the food was Excellent taste! The order taking was accurate and the service is really quick and efficient, kind staff polite, hardworking, personable and very on point to their work. I particularly like the Italian beef, Italian sausage, and cheese fries are a must. They have decent salad and healthier options too. The cleanliness of store is fantastic and the ambiance is really relaxing. The customer service was awesome and the quality of food was above average. I’m really satisfied to the food and the service. Would definitely dine again.

I have been going to Portillos for years! I cannot ever say I've had unpleasant food from any Portillos. If I was getting strapped into electric chair, my last meal would be a Portillos dipped Italian Beef. I moved to Colorado for a few years and my first question after moving was "Where's the nearest Portillos?" Nobody knew what I was talking about. I realized I was in trouble but thank God they deliver frozen Portillos!

Please don't ever order catering from this location, if you're considering it. I ordered the buffet party catering package for a work lunch, and even gave a 30 minute grace window, in case something happened. I get told by the delivery driver she's been waiting for the food to be made 20 minutes over the scheduled delivery time. I call the location and speak to a manager to understand whats going on, and i get told its the driver's fault. I asked why is the food still barely being made, and i received the response " no we're not making the food, you're salad will be ready in about five minutes, and we told the driver to tell you that". Apparently they've been making burgers all morning which put them behind. I placed a $600 catering order in advance and scheduled a time. I'ts very clear to see this location doesn't value customers. Never again will i ever order form here. Considering the manager is trying to hang up on me and is blaming the driver.

Burger was great. The time spent waiting in line (drive up) was not so great. If the facility doubled it's capacity or streamlined its methods, they would likely increase their bottom line. If I were to build a Portillo's I would set it up to provide two drive up services on opposing sides of the building. I would have the main level primarily for drive up service and an upper level for dining in.
