I was seated promptly and received an iced tea shortly thereafter. I had ample time to review the menu and my order was taken within a few minutes. I had the avocado burger, with a side of onion rings. The burger was cooked to order and arrived after a pretty brief wait. There were ample lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle slices plated with the burger and rings. The burger had a creamy sauce and additional condiments were available. The hand formed meat patty had an incredible flavor. Every bite was delicious. Yes, there are a few obvious signs the wait staff is new, but there were no huge negatives. The place was fairly crowded but no obvious signs of deficiencies. I enjoyed Bernie's Kitchen.

Todays special is hand battered chicken strips. Oh my! I received 5 nice sized, all white meat strips perfectly prepared and coated in a crispy, crunchy batter, comprised of ground pretzels. Delicious! And as always, friendly, efficient service.
Enjoyed a top notch lunch here today! Service and food were wonderful! Highly recommend for a good home style meal and a little relaxation with family and friends!
This is the restaurant that Elizabeth Colorado has been waiting for! If you like amazing comfort food this is a place for you. The service was great, the mashed potatoes were amazing, the hamburger patties or fresh ground and hand patted. The chicken-fried steak was real sirloin steak. Great food presentation. And this is day two of their opening. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to try some of Grandma Bernie's recipe of biscuits and gravy for breakfast.
The food was great! Simple menu with excellent flavor. The staff was friendly, you can tell they are new but they did a great job. We will be back!

Had supper here last night with my wife and daughter. We had a great time! Food was outstanding and service was Johnny on the spot. Had our drinks within a few minutes of arriving and we were eating our salads a few minutes after that.
I had the meatloaf (that was WRAPPED in bacon) and my wife had the chicken fried steak - both were excellent! Drinks never reached empty before being refilled too. The prices were very reasonable too - all three meals and drinks for under $35!
Excellent night with great food and great service! Can't wait to go back!
Without a doubt the best meal I have had in Elizabeth for some time. And there have been some really good restaurants here. The chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were delicious. Do yourself a favor and order the grilled veggies.
We are here now having Sunday breakfast, and feel very welcomed as we truly enjoy the great cooking. If you havent stopped by for the green chile, mine riding atop a breakfast burrito with chorizo, do yourself a favor and get here. One chef to another, great job BJ and Jesse!

Delicious homemade food! Exactly what Elizabeth needed. The owner is really nice and we are always well taken care of when we come in. Try the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy! So good!
Had lunch yesterday. The food was excellent . I had Country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. The steak was cooked to perfection ,the breading was golden brown and wasn't to pepper or salty . The same with the gravy . And the mashed potatoes were real. you can't find restaurant's any more that cook food with fresh and never frozen ingredients . I'll make the long drive to Elizabeth to eat here again count on it...

We love eating at Bernie’s. The food is made from scratch so it takes a little longer sometimes to get food (depending on your order) but it’s soooo worth it. I haven’t tried anything that I didn’t love. The staff is amazing. My kids were not on their best behavior and they were understanding and made us feel like family. I’ve seen a few complaints about prices of food and I don’t understand why. If you want home cooked meals made from scratch it cost more than going somewhere that just heats it up in the microwave and brings it out. They take their time with each plate. Great local business that we will continue to support.
We ordered the fried mozzarella burger, green chili Mac and cheese and pulled pork sandwich. Everything was delicious! Everything is made in house and fresh. We also loved the fries. The service was good and the people were friendly. We will definitely be returning.
Family owned and operated restaurant that has amazing mouth watering meats, savory sides, and heart warming service. All burgers are marinated 12 hours fresh ground in house and cooked to order. All you can eat fish fry Friday. Slow roasted prime rib on Saturdays starting at 5pm. 12oz steak with salad bar and potato only $20 can't beat this anywhere!
Super friendly service, we showed up a quarter 'till closing (unknowingly) and drill received great attention. Food was good and reasonably priced, military discount available!
