Algarve Restaurant

We had a great dinner for at Algarve's Portuguese restaurant today. We ordered Paella Valenciana for two. There was an $8 upcharge for the lobster but it was well worth it. See my photo. Paella was accompanied by glasses of Pinot Grigio wine and hot Portuguese rolls. Everything was delicious, service was good and everyone was friendly. One warning they close at 6:00pm on Sundays so come early. We'll be back soon!

First time. Calamari overcooked. Fernando was our waiter, barely checked on us. We had to beg him to bring check and to go box. He attended soley to single gentleman sitting at table next to us. Seems if your not of Portuguese nationality, you get sub on par service. Not cool. This place was referred but I will not be back.

We live in north Jersey (Bergen County) and was tile shopping all over. Found ourselves in Elizabeth NJ late Saturday night but we found the perfect porcelain tiles for our kitchen. By this time we were already starving and decided to go to a Portuguese restaurant 'near me' which took us to Algarve Restaurant on Van Buren Ave. They were pretty booked but accommodated us anyhow. Not a fancy place by any means but great food! Can't complain about service as these days, you have to just be thankful that workers do show up. It seems they were short-handed but everyone was picking up where they can with a pleasant attitude. Overall experience was great. Will go back if we're in the area again and will recommend for everybody to try.

We went to this restaurant on Mother's Day after being turned away from the other popular restaurant in the area. We wear not disappointed at all the food was just as good, if not better than the other restaurant There were five people in our group we all had different dishes, each dish was so good, and we really enjoyed the blue sangria. The wait was long but this was understandable given the day that we went on. The service was Great, and we were made to feel very comfortable at this restaurant. We will definitely go back again.
