one of my favorite burgers out there, I really like the meal and now definitely I will go back to try other plates.
The burgers are very well served, they are BIG and are cooked perfectly as asked.
I tried the hawaiian one, very good. The spicy sauce IS spicy. Watch out.
We seated outside, is a very nice area and we got served very well. Nobody forgot about us and we always had a glass full of water.

I may have already posted a review before, but they are deserving of another. Awesome and consistent food! Friendly and efficient service! Spacious and accommodating atmosphere. A wonderful menu full of choices for everyone. Wheelchair accessible! Kid friendly! Family friendly. Large crowd accomodations with advance notice. Managers so nice and welcoming! A smooth running machine with amazing food! Highly recommend! (Don't confuse them with another restaurant of a similar name - this is the best, the one and only we'll go to!)

Just wow. We tried a couple restaurants in El Paso and they were all bland. We almost wanted to give up and decided to try this place out. The cook on my blackened trout as well as the seasoning was spot on. My husband also agreed his steak was probably one of the best he's had. Even the pineapple slaw was good although at first I was skeptical.
We finished with the brownie sundae( the texture was more like a cake but still good). The nice thing is they will donate the entire purchase price of the brownie sundae (or float) to their employees in need.
The staff was awesome too can't say enough about this place.

Our waitress was prompt and polite. We had a large group and she took very good care of us. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Aloha burger with ghost pepper cheese. So yum!

We always have a pleasure experience at any of the Great American Steakhouses. The service is great and the prices are great. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

Food was great. These guys are not shy with their portions! Just Right! Yum. Although, it was lunchtime, so.. several different servers in 45 min lunch experience. I guess everyone is equal and responsible for Grt. Amer. experience. Impression was impersonal, one step above drive thru and way more expensive.

Delicious all the food was well made and in my case I had the 12 oz ribeye. The food was served at an adequate time and the server was super friendly, barely had to wait to be seated since there wasn’t a line.

Great atmosphere and great food. All of our food was very nicely seasoned not too much not too little. I had the chopped steak and it was super tender and perfectly cooked.

Food was great. I had the 16oz rib eye and wife had the rib eye sandwich. First time trying the pickle spears and they were delicious.

The steaks are well seasoned and are delicious! The sides everything was good! Came out in a good time too when it was fairly busy ! Highly recommend!

Went for my birthday and got the ribeye sandwich 🥪. Oh, my gosh. I had forgotten how delicious it was. What a treat, I highly recommend trying this sandwich.

2 words: Amazing food. At the beginning we were told it was going to be a 30 minute wait, it was like 15 minutes, the staff is really friendly, we ordered 2 steaks with a salad, the side dishes are so good, for me it's a recommendation and will gladly return when given the chance.

Fantastic meats!! We were too hungry to think about taking pics but everything we've ever had here was delicious!

First time : Lovely food, lovely and friendly stuff. Loved it
Went for a second time, this dish was even better filet Mignon and sweet potato fries

I ordered the green chili steak burger with cheese fries, and I feel like this really puts to shame other "gourmet" burgers. Thick patty, well put together, and the fries were a great compliment. Friendly and quick service as well.

Ate the Ribeye Sandwich with hatch chilis - phenomenal! The cole slaw has pineapple in it - unique and exceptional! Beans are awesome! Great food!! Tastes like El Paso!

The trout is sooooo good.
My go to. Nice n juicy. With a baked potato extra sour cream and butter. Coleslaw and beans and a sweet tea. Mmmmmmm yum!

I have been to Great American many times in past years and the food was great. Today looking to have steak and all the fixing. First Wife and I ordered a margarita it came and had a glass full of ice very little beverage. Ordered main meal had a N.Y. steak and wife had sirloin. Steaks were tough, the coleslaw bland, beans cold and not cooked. Then the bill came $80 dollars for this meal!! What happened to the Great American steak house I Used to Know? Very bad experience do not think were going back soon. Sad to see a great restaurant go to the way side.

We had been here several times before and the food was always good. But last week we went here for a celebration and found a live cockroach in our cole slaw. We had already paid and were just talking/ relaxing. One of us had to get up and run out as it made her sick. We called the manager over and all he did was say they spray every Thursday and then offered us free desert, which we declined. Will be calling AMEX to dispute charge.

Omg, worst experience ever. Great american in northeast used to be one of the best places to have lunch or dinner. Went for dinner today and waiter dropped our food and never came back. I Lliterally got up to tell him to bring my bill and take home container and he never came back. I asked the hostess that seats everyone to call the manager and the hostess brought me the to go plate and told me she would get the manager. Manager came and I told her that the waiter never came not once the whole time we were there and she said I'll bring you your bill, not even concerned with the type of service we received or any apology. This used to be great food and service but it is under new management and the manager does not give a hoot about customers and has no clue how to run a restaurant. Talking to the manager was like talking to the wall.. Will never go back to this location , ever.
Valerie Salas
Very disappointed, went there today expecting a nice lunch with my family but it was terrible. We waited over an hour and a half for our food and then to make matters worse our potatoes were still hard and our steaks were way overcooked. Since the change in management the quality of service and the food has dropped tremendously. The Manager never even came to notify us about how long our food was taking, nor did she even come to apologize for the inconvenience. Needless to say we will not be returning to the northeast location ever again.

FYI: This location is no longer owned by the original family members.
The only 2 locations in El Paso that are owned by the original family members are located at 7600 Alabama Street and 2200 N Yarbrough Drive.

Very excellent steaks, ranch style beans and coleslaw. The waiting area has a large comfortable bench, with the surrounding Southwest decor. The front of the house is very orderly. I made a last minute to go order for coleslaw (for 20 servings) and they were very accommodating. They offered me a drink while I waited (which I didn't have to pay for) while I was waiting.

Used to be great. We had a small gathering of 5 friends today at lunch. We arrived shortly after 11:00 am and there were probably only about 4 other tables with people, the place was almost empty. We only get an hour for lunch, so I called ahead to see if they would accept a faxed order, which I was told they no longer did that. I mentioned to the gentleman that answered the phone that it was only about 4 of us, and he said they should not have a problem getting the food out for only four people. When we arrived I didn't even get menus because we already knew what we wanted and we actually had a list of what everyone wanted, including the drink order. The server did not even need to wait for us to order since we already knew what we wanted and gave her the sheet of paper with our orders.
It took what seemed like forever for them to get the food out. We did not even get a chance to enjoy our lunch before we had to head back to work because it took so long to get the food order out. We asked for to-go boxes withing about 10 minutes of the food arriving, and even getting those containers took longer than expected.
The food is still very good hear, but the service we received today was not very good. I know it may not have been the server's fault, and maybe it was due to problems in the kitchen. Regardless, we used to come here a lot a few years back, and had great service. I believe that aspect has gone down since we last dined here.

RUDE. We used to go to this restaurant for many years, Loved the atmosphere and the scenic view. But, they stopped serving the Bacon Cheeseburger. We stopped visiting. I called today to check if they had started serving the Bacon Cheeseburger again. The man who answered the phone was rude, rude! When I enquired about the Bacon Cheeseburger, he told me I could eat a regular Cheeseburger instead. When I explained I only enjoyed the Bacon Cheeseburger he said I should bring my own bacon.

Great food great service. We have visited your steakhouse on several occasions and each time we have received great food and great service. We've also gone to other steakhouse but the steaks don't measure up to those at your establishment. We've also ordered your Mexican shrimp cocktail which is unbelievably tasty. We usually order extra slaw to take home . Keep up with the good meals and service.

Horrible!. My husband and I went for a nice lunch on Easter Sunday. I ordered what I usually order, the ribeye, he ordered the ribeye and lobster. Our steaks were luke warm at best, his baked potatoe would not even melt the butter. We told our waitress and it was taken back to be warmed up - it was only slightly warmer when we got our plates back. My husband ate his steak and said it tasted only ok. My steak was about 75% fat. I had a huge chunk of fat in the middle and it tried to eat around it but it was mostly fat and grissel. The fact that is was rather cold just made it even more disgusting. I understand that ribeyes do have fat because that is what I usually order, but this was just a really bad piece of meat. The manager walked by a couple of times but would not even address our issues. We spent $87.00 for me to be completely grossed out by this "steakhouse". We will never return there and I will make sure that other people know how bad the food and service is. Let me list the things we found - dirty bowl on the table, dirty spoon, two pepper shakers and when I asked for salt I was given a dirty salt shakers. We were served cold beans, wilted salads and the ranch dressing was so thick - like they had put it in the serving cups the night before and let it set uncovered. I usually like the colesalw but iI could not even stomach that. If someone would have made an attempt to treat us better I would have just let this go.

Friday night, 5PM sat at the bar for 10 minutes. Never saw a bartender, was noticed by the waitstaff, but nothing came of it. Decided they didn't want my money and went to get BBQ. Won't try then again any tisoon.

Too bad!. I usually go here for the Green Chile Cheeseburger. It's usually quite good. Unfortunately, this place has hit the skids. It took about 30 minutes to get my food. The bottom bun was hard as a rock. It had obviously been sitting around the kitchen for a while. The server offered to bring me a fresh one. When I got it, the burger was noticably smaller and had no green chile on it. The fries tasted like they were the old ones re-dropped in the fryer. The table next to us was having similar food problems. One of their burgers was burned black. I spoke to the manager and his reply was, "I don't know why we are having so many problems, we're not that busy." That says a lot.

Excellent in every way. I stopped here on the way back to the hotel from a long day out in the field. The service was excellent. My tea glass was never less than 1/2 empty. Had a fillet and it was great. Just the way I like it mid rare. Giant baker, beans and slaw. More than I could ever hope to eat. I imagine I will be stopping by here at least a few more times hhis trip. Great meal after a long day in the field!

The franchised GAL&C Booo. This is a heinous attempt at duplicating the original. Don't bother. Just go to the original on Magnetic.

Very disappointed. I've been here before and never had a bad experience and always satisfied by the food. But this time not at all. I ordered the "specialty" steak burger with mushroom. I was completely crushed to see canned mushrooms on the burger. COME ON! Not even Carl's jr. does canned. If not because my husband knows the manger I would have sent it back. And keep in mind this is a $10 burger.

Nope. Slow service and overseasoned food. Had to ask someone else to find our server. Poor atmosphere. It had been several years since we ate there, since our last visit was not enjoyable either. Don't go.

Try Steakburger instead!. If you want a fantastic Green Chili Cheeseburger every time try the Great American STEAKBURGER on Yarbrough dr instead of Great American Land & Cattle Co on Gateway North. The burger was not as tasty and they obviously used canned chopped green chilis rather than the fresh roasted green chilis used by the yarbrough location. Our silverware was dirty, and when we asked for it to be replaced, the waiter spent several minutes explaining the process of cleaning silverware and trying to convince us it was not dirty. They also do not have the awesome sweet potato fries with raspberry chipotle dipping sauce that the yarbrough store serves.

Good steak but not the best. Slow service at times. Overall better than not. Steakburgers with green chili are the best.

Decent cow meat...service OK

Awesome Experience. Perfect evening! The Service was top notch, the steak was so delicious and tender and juicy- it was truly melt in your mouth good! I live in Atlanta and always make it a point to eat here whenever I'm in El Paso- This Restaurant is the best in the country!

Choicest Steaks Found Here. My husband and I split one order of the 2lb Top Sirloin steak for our dinner. We have never been dissappointed in the quality of this Great American Land & Cattle located in the northeast. The steak is always tender and well seasoned.
In the northeast area, the Great American Land & Cattle Restaurant is a favorite place to celebrate Birthdays, Wedding Anniversaries, and Organization Meetings. The wait staff is very good at serving large groups. This restaurant aslo has a side room that can be reserved for private parties.

Delicious food and Great service!. The food is really tasty, and the meat is always cooked as asked. Amazing beans and fresh cole slaw are my favorite! Service is friendly and attentive. Price is decent considering the kind of food served. We always keep going back!

Tasty. Like everything....their prices have definitely climbed in the past few years. The food is always tasty....and the service always seems to leave something to be desired. The last few times we've been there, we've been unable to eat the BBQ beans we are served. They taste just like someone dumped a HUGE bottle of chili powder into the pot. Nasty! Last time we went...as we were about to order THEN the waitress decided to tell us they were out of T-Bones and out of shrimp. Not when we sat down, or when she took our drink order, but when we were ordering. Of course, hubby was going to order the T-bone...and I was about to order the shrimp! GRRRR. I ended up with the beer battered fish.....and OMG...it was probably the best I've ever eaten! Definitely order the fish at the steakhouse. Very tasty!

Service was horrible!. I'm giving it two stars and that rating may not be fair. I had lunch today at Great American and the food was actually very good. I ordered the green chile cheese burger with fries. The hamburger was very good. The menu stated Hatch green chile and it tasted just like it, it brought the heat! I ordered it medium well and it was cooked as I ordered it. The problem I had is that the service flat out sucked! My waitress literally disappeared. When we arrived and were seated at our table it took her 10 minutes for her to take our drink order. When she finally took our lunch order and served our food we never saw her again. I looked for her to refill my glass of tea and she was no where to be found. I literally had to get up walk across the restaurant, grab a pitcher of tea and refill my glass. Then I proceed to walk back to my table and refill the glasses of my two coworkers. The sad part it took them a long time to figure it out! The waitress was finally told about the lack of service that we were getting by the table next to us. She never apologized. I gave her a generous 10% tip but it should have been less. Really good food and horrible service sums up my experience.

Foods pretty good but service can be kinda slow at times

This week Hubs and I went to dinner at the Transmountain Great American Land & Cattle Co. As the name sounds, it is a steak restaurant just across the street from Cohen Stadium. Hubs was very excited about dinner, he is a steak lover! I enjoy the rustic decor, with the wood ceiling, antler chandeliers, and horse shoes reminds me so much of my Uncle Bob's home and the feeling I get when I am home. Even with a completely full restaurant, I did not feel rushed to finish, nor did I feel ignored by our waitress. Top Sirloin Steak Meal. 2lbs of steak! Cheese Lovers Steakburger Meal I ordered the Cheese Lovers Steakburger Meal, with mushroom (Yum) and steak fries. My fries were well seasoned and piping hot when they arrived. My steakburger was cooked exactly how I asked, and was delicious. I wish that all of the burger condiment had come in small tubs like the ketchup, rather than squeeze packet style mayo and mustard. Just seemed a bit cheap for the price of my mea
