From the second we walked in, Friendly, welcoming, polite, attentive service! We think the Best Posole in the city! Along with everything else very authentic and tastey. Generous portions, comfortably priced. Even take Horchata to go, can't get enough. Would recommend it to everyone!
This place never disappoints me, the food is always amazing and flavor amazing. Staff always right there to refill your drink or to ask if you need anything else. Very clean and easy access to get to and out from.
The first time me and my wife went the carnitas were very dry and over cooked but her carne asad was amazing! its fast and fun and on friday nights they have live karaoke guy terring it up
This place has speedy service; unfortunately, when you go in, no acknowledges you. You just pick the table you want and just sit! The menú is good and prices are fair. I tried the fish tacos and were okay! The chips and salsa were good! The bathrooms need improvement. Overall, I give this place 7 of 10.
The squeeze. Once again the prices have gone up with the newly changed menus. Have been long time customers through at least 2 or 3 new menus changes over the years. I am from El Paso and have tried most all of the Mexican restaurants from mom and pop's to the chain restaurants and have chosen Tio Juan over all the rest for many years. The service always excellent, food comes out fast and always hot. Any time I have had a problem they have taken care of it immediately. Think they do have the best enchiladas in El Paso both the red and green - love the tomatillo green sauce. Problem is I do not mind paying the new menu prices each time they change (higher), we think the food is worth it, problem is when I am charged $1.49 for a Side Sour Cream and then $. 69 for a Flour Tortilla as a side charge when I have ordered two menu dinner plates. I can buy a whole container of sour cream that price myself. This has been the only Mexican restaurant we go to and take guest to when they come into town for at least 4 or 5 years and I mean the only one, we have been very loyal to Tio Jaun. Think they should be listed as extras or side orders on the menu and until the updates on the menu the waiter should notify the customer of the extra charge(s) before he puts the order and charges you for it. If this happens again will need to start looking for another place to start going to eat in the northeast El Paso. :(
I have eaten at Carnitas many, many times. Service has been excellent EVERY time. Food comes out fast and is always excellent. Not the fanciest building in El Paso, but the BEST Mexican food in town and always clean.
Best Mexican Restaurant in town. Better than L&J's or Kikis.
Yumm. Me and my Hubby eat here on the regular, always quick and Delish!!
This place is impressive to say the least, considering that there are hundreds of Mexican food places in this city, Tio Juan's is a few steps above the average. Fresh, non frozen and above all, great service!.
Try the posole. Best around.
Good food, nice people, low prices. I liked it and will come back.
Excellent! Everything is good and the chili rellenos are the best!
I had a craving for red enchiladas and the food came out fast. The salsa is hot just like I like it. Food is really good and my waitress was so cute and smiled every time she saw mw
The service and food were delicious I had the fluatas which hit the SPOT. THEY SERVE BEER 🍻
Was not busy, great for an early lunch. My fajitas were very flavorful and tender. They give you chips and salsa on the table. Staff was friendly and keep my drink full. They didn't have the sweetener I wanted for my tea but that's my preference.
Carnitas Tio Juan in El Paso is a must-visit spot for anyone craving delicious Mexican food. The carnitas are cooked to perfection and the flavors are out of this world. The service is fast and friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The restaurant is also very clean. Highly recommend giving Carnitas Tio Juan a try for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed!
Had the chicken tampiquena and it was good! Food came out super fast and our server was great!
Their specialty are the carnitas; I only had a taco since I ordered the Mexican plate; everything was OK. The Chile relleno was a little though, not roasted all the way, the enchilada sauce needed a little more flavor. I still want to try their menudo
Have been here at least 5 times. Every time food was delicious. The only downside is the service has been getting worse everytime. I'm not one to be flagging down the server since I'm used to them checking up on us but I have had to do it here several times already
The food was great! The red salsa even better! The service was great as well. I has the carnitas sopes. Super good. My friend had the tampiquena chicken..... also super good! 👌
We had a blessed afternoon at Carnitas Tio Juan. Waiters & Waitress were excellent.
The food was delicious and everyone loved Tio Juan!! Many from our shower never knew about this restaurant, but have said they have a NEW great place to eat at now!!
Thank you Tio Juan!! Love, Rose Mc Daniel
We arrive after lunch time and it was not too busy. When we sat down it took them a while for someone to greet us and get out drink. Finally they sent someone and he got our drinks. After waiting around for about 10 minutes a server finally came up and asked if we had been helped. It was a little chaotic almost as if no one knew who would be helping us. The server however was a gentleman he was very nice and he was fast. He seemed to have a whole section for himself, which it really is a lot of tables. The food was fantastic I had the large Pozole (great flavor and lots of meat) and the sides were just enough for the large portion. After we established our server it went by pretty smooth. Next time just dont go if in a hurry and be prepared to wait just a bit.
