Review Taft Diaz - El Paso

Wm. Patrick Barnes
About the best fine dining in El Paso hidden in a hotel! Been twice on with travel the last couple years, both times were perfect. Great plating and presentation and atmosphere. Excellent service as well. Great drinks too. It's a must!

Think of this like the cafe restaurant cum bar in a trendy art gallery or niche musuem. Supposedly Stanton House, in which Taft Diaz sits, is a boutique hotel but actually its not especially good at being a hotel. Mostly its an art installation inside an architectural experiment. Which is fun, if not super practical. Food is good, although coming in overpriced very bijou portions. Barman is cheerful and keen.

Had a fine dinner here the other night. Pleasant atmosphere with good food. I thought service was a bit slow, but there was a large group dining as well. Bread and butter were good. Mexican butter is a must order - not something you can get anywhere. My NY strip was OK, I wouldn’t order it again. Probably the best fries I’ve had in my life. My girlfriend liked the pasta.

Stopped by for a drink and a quick bite. Got a dirty martini which was pretty good. Then ordered the "Mexican Butter" . OMG. Bone marrow, you get 3 bones and 3 tortillas. I had some bone marrow before but this was the absolute best I've had so far in this city. The only bad thing I'd have to say about my experience is that I couldn't fully express my full O Face each time I took a bite. I felt everyone was looking at me every time I picked up a bite. It's almost as if there was some improper PDA occurring but nothing was improper I can tell you that. This is one of those dishes that warrants a proper O Face. IFYKYK!💯

the fusion corner of this elite hotel, is an art gallery itself somehow. Adore the fact that the "Taft-Diaz" is where exactly beneath the high-ceiling, the sun shines and reflects in when you have your lovely weekend brunch 🌞 Definitely have to order their Avocado Toast, the best I've ever had, but not their Brunch Burger 🍔 😅 One thing for them to improve is their waitressing service, don't come too often for credit card 😃

I have come to Taft Diaz on 3 different occasions; 2 for lunch, and 1 for breakfast. I have never had a less than wonderful experience! The food is amazing, seriously. And the service is fantastic as well, so attentive, nice and happy. I would highly recommend coming here! I've tried the chilaquiles divorciados, and the lunch combo that comes with soup, salad, entree & dessert. The corn soup is amazing, the tomato soup wasn't my favorite because it had a strong barbeque flavor, the caesar salad is delicious & the burger is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Do yourself a favor and come here! You won't regret it.

It's a beautiful and elegant place. The food was good. Service was great. But the elegance and beauty of the place won my heart. Also the food is quite affordable. Overall, a good experience.

It was a pleasant experience. The food was good (I'm no connoisseur, so I won't pretend), but it looked and tasted like someone cared about it. The flavors were definitely different from your average restaurant so I would say they merit the price difference. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, it's small and you have a decent view of the kitchen from most of the tables. The "dancing lamps are a nice touch" Jacqueline was our server she was very attentive and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We were offered a tour of several of the guest rooms and Carlos, the butler for the night, showed us 3 different rooms.

It is a beautiful hotel/ restaurant/ bar. The decoration its great. It just make me feel at ease and like home. I had couple of beers at the bar and enjoy my time in there. The bartender was very attentive and recommend some mix drinks. The music also was on point, I felt relax and in a good mood during my time at the bar. The prices are a little bit high but its worth it. Totally recommend this place.

My husband and I went here for dinner based on a friend’s recommendation. It did not disappoint. The restaurant was quite lovely. Our waiter, Francisco, was fantastic and the food was all five stars. A delicious treat for your mouth.

Post shutdowns, it's refreshing dining at restaurants that are proud of their craft. Everything from service to inspired recipes, they delivered. As a tourist, I look forward to my upcoming trips and making this my regular spot. Keep up the great work, guys!

After pursuing food pics on Google maps, I came in on my first night in town just for the Mexican Butter Bone Marrow and a Mezcal Negroni. I sat at the bar and was not disappointed! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, experts at their craft. It felt like being at an elevated cocktail bar in Mexico City.

The decor is beautiful and contemporary/trendy. Our server, Renee, was very knowledgeable about the offerings and engaged in an in-depth conversation with my colleague about whiskey - making numerous recommendations and receiving input as well. The tacos were gorgeous and delicious. My favorite was the Pork Al Pastor but Renee’s recommendation of the Tempura Artichoke Taco was a close second. The cocktails were also pretty good.

This place has ruined avocado toast for me- no where else will I find such a perfect breakfast. Every ingredient was amazing and thoughtfully prepared. Coffee was delicious, bacon was great, perfect poached egg, and the server was super knowledgeable and nice. Quiet and relaxing dining room, can't wait to go back.

Oscar, our server, was incredible. He was knowledgeable about the food, wines, and cocktails. It was by far one of the most refined and delectable meals I've had in El Paso in a very long time. Treat yourself and check it out!

The food was delicious and the customer service is beyond amazing. We always feel welcomed at this restaurant. The kitchen staff is also amazing. We got helped by Cheft Raul and you can tell he knows his stuff Update: Still my favorite out of all the fine dining options in EP. The service is always great, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion

Had dinner at this establishment and was impressed with the flavor and overall experience at the restaurant. Cocktails are well prepared and there is an art gallery on the second floor with local artist that adds to the unique atmosphere. Very well thought out ambiance. Lastly, customer service was excellent, friendly and informative. Great place for special occasions, dinner date or an out of the ordinary experience.
