Lucy's .. and El Paso icon. Whether it be the original counter across from Cathedral or the newest locations in the far west or the NE, you can expect the signature border food El Paso experience. Never much on decor .. thank goodness .. always about the food and the hospitality. The machaca is always the bomb .. fill with flavor and the special blob of queso that makes everything special. I always .. pick up the menu .. pretend and fool myself into believing I'll make a new choice .. and then order the Taco's Antonia as always. This dish was named for it's creator .. Tia Antonia .. a family member who has her own version of tacos. My brother, visiting from Atlanta tried them and said," this is my new definition of what tacos are". Cooked as you would expect en la plancha .. with a few twists .. especially the repollo garnish on top. You just have to try them for yourself. Special shout out to David .. my good friend. peace and ty
As far a Mexican food goes - it doesn't get any better than Lucy's!
As far as the Lepe family who own & operate the business, they rate 10
This place is exactly what I was looking for as an out of towner that wanted some authentic, home style Mexican food. I wish I could remember what I ordered, but all I know was that it was exquisite Mexican goodness. Went back a second time because my friend insisted I try the tacos he had. Said they were the best he's ever had.
Small, quaint and friendly service. Food is great. This is a must try in El Paso.
This is probably one of my most favorite restaurants in the city. The food here is supurb and the service consists of some of the most friendly people I know. The tacos are a must get--the best in Texas.
I like the food. one problem when u need a refill a drink that most waiter or waitness ignore you to get a refill then when u tell them to get u a refill they take to long or forget to bring refill. They deliver ur food. Then don't come back and check on you. Service most time not good. I like the food. I understand there busy but sometimes when I have gone and there not busy they don't check if you need anything else.
Great Machacha. Next to King's X bar it has some of the best Machaca I have ever tasted.
Lucy’s is next door to a bar. You can get great food then walk next door for a drink at King’s. The meals and service is great. Don’t miss out.
Hadn't been here since the college years in the 80's and 24 years away from home. Retired, back home and had to go to Lucy's. Food is phenomenal as always and big servings. Glad to know some things don't change. An El Paso, must stop at.
Visited while on vacation. Had seen on Texas Bucket List! Food was awesome and brother of owner took great care of us! Highly recommend
Can never go wrong coming to Lucy's on n mesa. Excellent food & Service.
Great food, especially for the price! My avocados had some yucky parts but avocados are so tricky. The salsa is one of my top five favorites of all time.
The Lucy's restaurant space is very small, it has a total of 4 booths and about 5 tables for 4 people. It is an old building a bit of an eye sore, however, the food and staff make up for it. It is connected to King's X Bar. The staff is very comfortable, friendly, chatty, and helpful. I recommend coming to this place and trying out their soups and their tacos. You could have a drink at the bar and order food from the restaurant or eat at the restaurant and get drinks from the bar next door. Very mexican delicious food.
The cheese dip with peppers was very good. Tacos as well. Chile relleno wasn’t my favorite.
Nice locals’ spot. Complementary spicy green salsa and chips with your meal. You can grab a drink at the bar right next door.
One of El Paso's best treats!
A hidden jem and not likely to disappoint. I recommend to all my friends and family.
Personally, I love the Fidello and the chicken enchiladas with queso.
Highly recommend!
First time here at Lucy's Cafe at kings X. I got the chicken tampiquena. Was really flavorful. Didn't like the rice or bean's too much. But I would go back to try another dish.
