BBQ!!!!!!! The ribs are perfect! Brisket tho can't wait to go back the food is great and the staff is super nice. New location soon more outdoor seating. The new location has been open for a while I finally made it out tonight. The food once again was perfect!! Rice is a must! Wings are also a must!!

We went on Christmas eve 2023. We were greeted immediately and sitted. Our waitress gave us the menu and gave us sometime to decide. I ordered the two meat option with brisket and ribs, and Mac &cheese and coleslaw as sides. Food was tasty although the brisket was a little dry (I should have ordered moist). As far as the atmosphere, the restaurant is spacious with ample sitting. There is also a bar area and patio outside. Overall, great ambience. What I did not like is the urinal was almost overflowing and was clogged. Also, there was no paper towel. It's definitely better than Rudy's in my opinion.

I recently came here this past Saturday after Thanksgiving while visiting family for the holidays. And I was impressed with the service. Our waiter was Daniel Duran and he was amazing! The family I was dining with, all enjoyed their meals! I usually judge a BBQ place by the quality of their sides, most specifically the Mac 'n Cheese! And... it was a winner! I ordered a BBQ sandwich that had a combination of Brisket and Sausage (which had a good kick of spice btw). And it was amazing! But besides the good food and prompt delivery of the food, the service is the reason I'm writing the review. Daniel was very courteous, polite, and very professional. He was on top of our orders, drink refills and prompt on giving our tab and processing out our payment. So I do believe Desert Oak is a great place! It has an equal portion of great BBQ and a great staff that includes DANIEL DURAN! Thanks! Will be back when I visit again!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you Ashley for taking such good care of us. My friend has food allergies and Ashley explained how things were cooked and which items were safe. I had the Desert Oak plate (2 meats/2 sides) the ribs were sliding off the bone and the brisket tender and very flavorful. I also had the mac and cheese that had the perfect amount of cheese and coleslaw with pineapple 😋both were a good amount. Desert Oak thank you for such yummy bbq!

This a great place to get some great BBQ, brisket is real good but the pull pork is one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time just melts in your mouth. I tried the BFS sandwich really good just get ready with those napkins, the sausage was all right nothing special I think next time I’ll order the plate less mess. My wife tried the Texas trinity one of the best meals they have here the spare ribs was out of this world the meat would just fall off by itself, get the homemade cornbread 👍🏼. The Mac and cheese, and the potato salad needs work to much vinegar on the potato salad for my taste. The one thing that I was let down from this place was the barbecue sauce to watered down no flavor, in my opinion Smokies has the best sauce in El Paso. Great place highly recommend.

Came here on a Wednesday night so we could skip the crowds. Decent sized restaurant but there didn’t seem to be that many tables for the space. On the weekends or a busy day I could see this place being very crowded. Went with my friend; I ordered the smoked wings and Texas Trinity Plate. My friend ordered the Lone Star Plate. I was impressed with the flavor in the food. The wings were crispy and flavorful. The brisket was fall apart juicy, and the ribs were very tender. Saw someone eating the cornbread so we ordered that also. Delicious. Only issue I would be the portions seemed a bit small for the price. But all and all a great meal, would definitely eat here again.
