Review D'lox - El Paso

Tori
Went for Saturday brunch, and it was excellent! No wait and still tables open when we left, which can be hard to find on a Saturday morning around here. We got the steel-cut oatmeal, the D’Lox basic, and the chilaquiles...all were A+. My only negatives were the that the toast was strangely tiny and the iced coffee was very so-so. Other than that, an excellent start to the weekend. We’ll be back! Interesting notes: they have a party room in the back and they serve breakfast all day. Enjoy!

The wife and I went here for brunch and found it to be amazing. We were able to sit out in the patio and enjoyed it very much. The food was fantastic. The restaurant had a great food selection and is a place we will definitely be coming back to.

D'Lox was a brunch place I had heard of from a few of my friends and decided to go alone one day to give it a try. I ordered the Lox Benedict and was surprised at the amount of flavor packed in the first bite. After a few tries, however, I realized it was merely because both the lox and hollandaise sauce were oversalted which had me reaching for my drink after every bite. The sauce itself was very creamy but very potent and overtook the dish alongside the red onions. I usually love eggs Benedict because it leave me with a sense of clean contentment, but this dish had me craving that feeling after. (I went home and ate some fruit to help.) The potatoes that came with it were also very creamy but lacked much distinct flavor and texture as it was mostly mushy. My cappuccino was a bit of a surprise as it was smooth and sweet but not overly so. It came in a large glass mug topped with a cinnamon stick which made me feel super bougie (lol). Would definitely recommend the cappuccino. Order: Lox Benedict and Cappuccino Atmosphere: Jazzy, hip, modern-ish Price: $20 for just myself. $$ Overall: There seems to be potential here. The atmosphere seems great for a group of friends and the food definitely has potential of being next level. I only hope that my next experience with the food isn't similar as it will definitely take a star away. Give the place a try but maybe go for the French toast instead with a nice coffee.

Service was fast and food was amazing. I had grand Marnier French toast with eggs and added pecans. The French toast is soaked in Marnier and coated with cornflakes. AMAZING! Mimosas are soooo good. Had a little fly come in my butter that's the only downside.

I have dined here twice. - Restaurant has a modern vibe to it. - Sunday brunch was exceptional. - A la carte, the jazzy salmon omelet was average, the machaca and pancakes were very good.

Restaurant was clean, busy and staff was being a bit overwhelmed. The food was good, service good despite being stressed with shortage of staff. Will return.
