Top notch frozen dumplings and great selection. This is the only Asian place around East Bay that has pig ear salad which is a childhood favorite of mine. Marinated beef and bean curd salad is also excellent. If you want to try something new this place is a great choice! The people there are also really helpful if you have any questions.
Wanted to have a sit down meal at this eatery for a long time.
There was only take out during the pandemic.
It is not the same.
You have to be there to enjoy the magic.
Loved the onion pancakes, chicken and mushroom dumplings and the marinated cucumber/black fungus salad.
Dreaming of having it again in a few days when it has only been a couple of hours since I left there.
Will be back for more and I'm encouraging folks to share my vision.
We went there when this place first opened and it was amazing and I went there today and got some takeout and it was just as amazing. For dipping sauce I mixed soy sauce, rice vinegar, and hoisin. It might not be quite how they would do it in the restaurants but it was delightful. Over half the menu contains pork and a lot of the items are meat so if you have vegetarian or kosher preferences you might have a hard time there there are a few vegetarian items. I really enjoyed the scallion pancakes.
Everything I ate here was fantastic. The dumplings, marinated beef, celery and peanut salad... Seems like having a smaller menu really paid off for this place. Don't miss the scallion pancakes, they are crispy and delicious!
The dumplings, green onion pancake, and beef noodles soup were really good. You can tell they were all freshly made.
Arrived at 6:43 pm on 8/4 as a party of 3 was told there was going to be a 15-minute wait with 1 group ahead of us. Three groups of people (4,2,2) were seated before us. Finally got a table at 7:13 pm. ehhh....
Our order:
Beef Noodle Soup: 9/10
-Nice numbing heat like Szechuan but very muted.
-The beef was mostly cartilage. Noodles were nice and springy.
Green Onion Pancake: 9/10
-Crispy, good flavor but not enough green onions imo
Napa Cabage & Pork Dumps: 8/10
Chive & Shrimp & Pork Dumps: 9/10
Mushroom & Chicken Dumps: 9/10
Overall the meal was pretty satisfying and worth the try. Not the best dumplings I've had but they're still pretty good. Wish they had some vinegar/chili oil sauce to combine with soy sauce.
