Meng Gao Yang Lamb Bbq

I was hungry and was only looking to have a take out. I saw a a picture on the wall and ask if I can order that. Then a lady call to ring me up and I saw the bill at $28...Then I tried to tell her I don't need a large quantity as it was just for me. She went to the kitchen and back looking visibly angry and just hand me back my card and pretty much say they are selling. That was an awful customer service.

After reading reviews I was excited to try Meng Gao Yang. The place was completely empty when I got there and stayed that way throughout my visit. Being a first timer they didn't really guide me through the process of cooking over hot coals. I ordered ten sticks of the spicy beef. That sounds like a lot but it's really not, it's a one person serving. There wasn't any heat but the meat tasted good and was surprisingly tender. The grill was very interesting and made it fun. My biggest issue is with value. $15 was a lot of money for what I got. It needed to come with some rice to make it a meal. Even though it was tasty, I won't be running back anytime soon.

Went there for the first time yesterday with my girlfriend to get some dinner, the workers ignored me for at least 10 minutes and I had to go up and ask a lady for a table, then while then lady she left in the middle when I was speaking, and came back and sat us with another 2 other people in the party room table. When food was served, the lady did not come to check with us AT ALL while checking with the other 2 that sat right next to us, forgot to give us the spices, she only dropped the food and left. Then after I asked for the check, she begged for tip when I was paying saying and keep mentioning “no tip?”. Very unprofessional and they barely spoke English. Food was ok, the enoki mushrooms were overpriced, $10 for a tiny plate. Would not recommend. Would give 0 star

For the food itself, this place deserves a 5 star. The restaurant name might be misleading since you might think it's Mongolian style. Actually, it's northeastern Korean-Chinese style. As someone growing up with this type of cuisine, I can tell it's quite authentic. I especially enjoyed sweet and sour pork. One star off because of its price. It is quite pricey for what it offers.
