The Royal Bawarchi

We got a takeaway last night and were very impressed. I had the butter chicken which was delicious but a little sweet for my taste, hence the 4 stars rather than 5. My husband had the banjara lamb and he said it was amazing, high praise indeed as my husband is very fussy about curries. The pilau rice was perfect and the chilli garlic naan was lovely too but could have done with a touch more garlic. The complimentary poppadom was one of the tastiest i've had. will definitely order from them again!

Just had a wonderful meal at the Royal Bawarahi. The food was delicious and one of the best, most authentic South Indian food we've ever had. The butter chicken was outstanding, as was the chicken palak. The naan bread was amazing and the complimentary poppadoms and spiced onion and mango chutney was also delicious. Would thoroughly recommend if you want delicious Indian food. Took my wine too, which was great. Service was great, price was amazing. Such good value for money. I don't understand how anyone could complain as we found it to be excellent. Cant wait to come back!

First visit last night and we were very happy! The surroundings are not up to much (and still show signs of the restaurant's previous Oriental incarnation) but the service was good and the food excellent. Not big portions (which we like) but beautifully spiced and flavourful. And when the bill came, we were surprised at how reasonable it all was. It's BYOB, but that may change in the future (a nice draft Indian lager is always good with such good food). We certainly plan to go back.

Our dinner in the Royal Bawarchi was delicious, and quite different from many Indian restaurants. The menu features some The samosa was superbly crisp with a moist and light vegetable filling, while the pakora had a satisfying crunch and a surprisingly light, tasty centre. The Banjara lamb was wonderful - rich, spicy and hot, while simultaneously light, zingy and refreshing. The chicken shashlik was similarly unusual in the tandoori spice mixed with mint each bringing out different characters in the chicken. Even the rice was well cooked, light and fluffy.

Loved it. Food was incredible, service even better. Staff were top notch, so friendly and attentive. Perfect balance of professional and casual, really made the night. Let us keep our BYOB beers in the fridge and perfectly timed our refills. Will definitely be back and hope others find this hidden gem.
